I've been recommending and using Harmony remotes for several years. The design of them have been outstanding at all of the different price points until this series. They completely wiffed on the design. From removing the chapter skip buttons to the location of the play and rewind it just isn't a comfortable to use remote.
Why they've apparently discontinued the Harmony One line favor of this is beyond me. I see by the reviews I'm not the only one who things they've missed.
I like most Logitech products, I just hope they recognize this miss and correct it so. For know I need to stock up on some of the older ones while they're still available.

Missing the FF commercial skip button?
Date:May 16, 2013
Wow... the R&D team missed the most used button on the Harmony One remote in designing the Harmony Touch? Anybody with a DVR loves to use the skip fast forward button to move through commercials.
This new design doesn't have the physical button for easy commercial skipping. I've returned my Harmony Touch remote & I'll look for a refurbished Harmony One.
Long time Logitech fan, but this was a big miss.

Great Improvment over Harmony 890 & 900
Date:May 10, 2013
Set up was fast and easy since I already have a Harmony 900. One little problem which was solved y calling the support . at first it looks complicated , but after set up and getting used to in a day or two its actually very nice and very responsive. even the hub is better than the 900! Only dislike is the Phillips Hue light control ,it does not have all the color option on the remote

Easy to set up and use
Date:May 8, 2013
I had concerns due to some of the reviews but with no previous universal remote experience I dived in. It was VERY easy to set up and the directions were clear.
The remote is intuitive and the whole family- spouse and kids, figured it out within seconds. I am able to use all features of my cable, dvr, tv and tuner/receiver with ease. The tuner had many additional features and once I was able to identify on the remote how to access them (the little computer box on the bottom rhs) it was very easy.
The gesture feature is quicker then my standard cable buttons and the favorites allow for a quick selection of our top channels.
If you have a slight curiosity then you can understand all the features rather quickly.
The remote is simply fantastic: great features, *great* configuration options, great quality (I don't have kids, so I cannot say much about resistance hehe).
The logic behind the activity-based flow is fantastic, and works like a charm once you get it (requires some time, specially if you are familiarized with old universal remotes)
Unfortunately, this remote is not for everybody, specially for people who don't like touch screens (obviously) or people who don't have the patient for a correct configuration.
There are many complaints about lack of buttons, but come on, you can configure *all* buttons as you wish, and add options to the touch screen in any order. That's powerful but, I insist, not for everybody.
I have 3 months with the remote, and after the first configuration process and several small adjustments, I can say I have a very efficient and powerful configuration adapted to my needs, even to watch movies on my computer connected to my TV using my sound system.
I have just few complaints, specially with the software, because it have small usability issues (specially when you want to edit simple things and you have to complete all wizard steps), but I can live with that since I don't use the software everyday.

I have had almost every generation of harmony remotes and this model is complete garbage. I am on my second one that has broken and needs to be replaced because the firmware keeps getting fried. It has very sluggish and controls and is not most ergonomic when you are trying to use the forward/rewind/play buttons. Big disappointment!

... there is no Page Up / Page Down buttons; a much needed feature for people with digital cable or satellite, making it much easier to navigate through guide/dvr/menus (and hundreds of channels). If you add a Page Up and Page Down, I will definately upgrade from my Harmony 900. and based on the reviews, seems I should wait awhile. BTW, I'm on my 3rd Harmony remote, upgrading every 2-3 years. I love Harmony products but this new model is only moderately impressive in comparison to previous models :,(

Doesn't stand up to previous Harmony remotes

TV, PS3 with Harmony adapter, Yamaha RX-V673, Arris MP2000N,
After using many previous Harmony remotes, I found this one does not stand up to any of them. I have use the Harmony one, and 880, and an old 600. I find that all of them were easier to setup and customize.
I like the sleek design, but that's about it.

Logitech sent me the HarmonyTouch as a replacement for my Harmony One that was having battery issues. Logitech replaced my Harmony One and it was even out of warranty. Very easy to program and set up. No issues. If you are used to the Harmony One it just takes alittle getting used to use the Harmony Touch. Even my wife was able to figure out how to use it. She is not very knowledgable with techy products. I love the Harmony Touch!!!! Just one suggestion or the next genration remote; Put the touch screen at the top of the remote.

Why isn't it RF compatible?
Date:March 26, 2013
I'll admitt I'm an impulse buyer, with that being said, I already owned a 900 and when I saw the Touch and read how easy it was to transfer my existing activities I had to have it. It's sleek, and I loved the new touch screen layout. After programming and tried to use it I found that it wouldn't turn on some of my devices. I quickly realized that I had to connect the Touch to the IR Blaster like my old 900. That's when I discovered how much of an idiot I am. The Touch DOES NOT support RF. Why? Logitech, Why would you not make it compatible with the IR Blasters? I returned it. Very disappointed!!!!

I should have read CNET's review before purchasing. The reviewer is spot on in his review. Terribly designed,e.g., number pad on touch screen, volume and channel buttons not raised enough, guide has a button but page up/down is on touch screen. Looks cheap compared to price. I returned mine next day.

I replaced an older Harmony 880 with the Touch after the keys started sticking. I also have a 700 for the basement. Here's the low down:
Pro's: 1. Sleek. 2. Simple layout. 3. Yes, it works BUT...
Con's: 1. I really miss the number keypad. The touch keypad does not work as well and you have to first touch the "1,2,3" button for it to even display. Shouldn't be the default or at least allow you to set it as the default?
2. The numbers on the touch keyboard are not as responsive as a physical keypad found on the 880 and 700. Ex: touching 221 sometimes enters as 22 ... over and over and over.. Very frustrating.
3. The one-touch channel icons don't always go to the right channel or are not responsive.
4. No button for skipping forward 5 channels at a time (or its there as a touch but I can't find it).
5. The whole device is not intuitive. Everything cannot be on a touch screen. Logitech needs use it where it makes sense but also have physical buttons where they make sense.
6. Way too expensive for so many con's.
Bottom line is Logitech tried to be everything to everybody with this device and failed (IMHO). They tried to be too smart and made all the decisions for us when we really like many features from prior devices. I will be returning this unit for the cheaper 700. I like it much better.

Replacing a Harmony 700, thought the Touch might be the answer. Screen is poorly implemented and placing the skip button commands on the screen wasn't a good idea. Logitech has tried to squeeze too many commands onto the screen. Just trying to hold the remote results in errant screen commands. I've been using logitech products for years, this is the first one that's a complete disappointment.

Terrible

I had a Harmony One for about 4 years and really liked it, until the battery failed. After being told by logitech I couldn't get a new battery, I went out to buy a new harmony remote. The touch seemed to be the closest the closest thing available to the obsolete One.
It's been 2 weeks and I'm going to see if I can get my money back, but even if I can't, I'm going to try something else or just go back to the "old fashioned way".
I hate the touch screen. I hate that the number pad is buried in a menu on the touch screen. I hate that I'm constantly accidentally hitting the "help" button. I hate that there's no "skip" forward and back buttons which on my DVR allow me to skip forward and back by 30 seconds. I hate the layout- not a single button is where I want it to be.
The "favorites" feature is a nice idea, but for some reason it ALWAYS takes multiple tries for the channels to be entered correctly. For example, channel 807 will register as 87, or 07, or 80.
It's just awful. Go with something else.

Excellent Remote

I've used the Harmony 880 and Harmony One prior to using the Harmony Touch.
The Harmony Touch is very responsive, highly customizable and comfortable to use.
The layout is designed primarily for touch screen usage; however, the underside of the remote has a second bulge towards the top of the remote that allows your hand to rest comfortably and use the conventional play buttons if desired.
The favorite channel icons work very well for quickly finding your most watched channels.
Most negative reviews seem to be from people who have not taken the time to read the instructions and properly configure the remote.
The gesture page, mostly over looked by many reviewers, allows you to use a thumb gesture to control any five functions in any activity such as watching TV or listening to music. For watching TV through my PVR, I have it set so that swiping my thumb right is 3X fast forward, swiping left is 3X fast rewind, tap is play, swiping up and down controls page up and page down on TV lists and guides. All gesture pages for each activity are independently customizable directly from the remote, as are the other touch screen commands.
You are also not restricted to simple button commands because there is the ability to create sequences of commands that can be assigned to any button or the touch screen.
Initially I did have a problem installing the myhamony software with IE9, however, I called the harmony support number and they solved the problem quickly. It was found to be my security settings in IE9 were set too high to allow the software to run.
All in all I'd definately recommend the remote to a friend.

Really nice design, good web app for configuration

I don't understand what remote and applications some of the other reviewers are using - it surely can't be the Harmony Touch. I just replaced my One with this, and find it elegant, simple, and powerful. For me, the web configuration is a decided improvement over the local application I'd been using for the Harmony One.
Maybe those who've given bad reviews are not aware that there is so much customization possible? You can add commands for different devices to an activity screen, and you can rename them to distinguish what device it's for. You can delete commands you won't use from the screen display. You can rearrange commands. You can add commands. If people complain about the screen commands or arrangement, my only conclusion is that they haven't set them up to their taste. Why not? I had this set up (from scratch, because I wanted a fresh start) within a half-hour, and it is highly functional and attractive.

I am one of the biggest Logitech Supporters you'll see. Remotes, Keyboards, Mice, Cameras. However, this was the worst design I've seen yet. People talk in other reviews about convience of physical buttons and that is true, but I didn't see anyone talk about the most important thing Programable, flexible and customizable. With the 900 I can place the top 6 functions on the 1st screen. With the One Touch you can't. You have to scroll. If you have a power toggle for the tv and the device (dvd# the One Touch will not allow you to indicate which one is which. It will just displays power toggle. It's a guessing game. It's a bad build. So disappointed. More disappointed that they forced you to this. I have #4) 900 remotes in my house. I gave away the One Touch I bought. Please redesign and ask your customers before making a major change again.

Got this one home and had a friend who has sold and programmed many Harmony remotes over to program this one. We tried using a Mac and a PC and after about an hour and a half we gave up! You can't just log into your account and update it! You need to open a new account. Then it runs you through hoops to program it, but we never got there. It's not just a sign into your My Harmony account and plug in the remote! Frustrating. So going back and exchanging it for a 900. Logitech really blew it on this one! Stay away. Don't touch the Touch!

The real beauty of the Touch is the set-up. Pure simplicity. Thought the online setup was brilliant in its simplicity. And the second real beauty: I handed the Touch to my wife who has been frustrated for years by the four or more remotes needed to operate our system - and she just started using it! I almost passed on the Harmony Touch due to negative reviews mostly related to control key placements. Both my wife and I find placement and function of the PLAY/PAUSE and FWD/REV keys to be workable. Not perfect, but workable. And using them is a one-handed operation. The drawback is that the keys are positioned near the top of the remote while the center of gravity is at the bottom; the remote is not well-balanced in your hand while using these keys. We use them more than the touch-screen controls for our style of viewing which consists mostly of DVR content, so if the upper keys and the touch screen swapped places, we would not mind. PS - there was a glitch during setup that I did not care for. The connection labels displayed in Touch set-up for my aging Parasound A/V receiver were not correct. Instructions offered a work-around allowing creation of new "custom" labels. Actual setup however did not contain the work-around. I tried using an existing label and it did the job.
