Surprisingly good !

Date:December 14, 2013
:windows 7 pc, low price and high price DAC, portable cd player
I have been using it for 2 weeks now. Bought them on sale.
All premium materials used, even the hinges are made of metal. Only drawback is the slightly heavy weight.
Now the is very very good. Considered it is Logitech UE first high end headphone, I say it is a perfection creation.
YES, it bass is the signature. Compared to my Beyer lower line Tesla headphone, the bass frequency definitely stands out. I was worried that the bass sound may tire my ears fast, boy, I was wrong. The balance of frequency came in after a little listening. Now, i understand why the ad called 'signature sound'.
The biggest advantage is the Apt-x bluetooth decoding. I do most of my listening on Internet radio (pop and dance music), the Apt-x option makes the difference. Without it, the sound is duller, my ears tired more easily. My point is, with regular sources, or mp3, the difference is there with apt-x. I am so happy that I can walk around at home with music on !
Wired mode, I would call it excellent. The tilt is to the low frequency. I listen to my favorite Brahms symphony 2, the double basses literally sing in front of me, I had to laugh it out. My Beyer headphone is more polite in low frequency.
Neutral sounding, accuracy ? I don't think anyone can answer this question. Given my comparison using internet radio, the 80s pop/rock music has a lot less high frequency compared to today electronic dance music. This UE9000 presented me a wholesome picture. The 'doctor' headphone has a big sound, but the sound is everywhere. This UE is more balanced and yet, surprisingly good for orchestral music too.

Initial impressions are good; bluetooth is A+

Date:November 5, 2013
Sound quality is really good IMO. What is striking is how good the wireless bluetooth quality is. I chalk it up to the advanced bluetooth codec supported--which are also supported by the latest apple products, but not sure about android/PC.
To the reviewer with an audio delay while listening to video, are you using a PC and/or some bluetooth transmitter that doesn't transmit under the APT-X standard? I don't get delay using iphone/ipad.
Potential criticisms: when using wireless, you also turn on the internal amp and active noise cancellation. The internal amp makes the bass heavy so I have to turn down bass on hip hop songs as it gets overbearing. But the internal amp makes for a punchy and fun sound that is something different for headphones--I like it but it is not a neutral reproduction. You can always listen in wired, passive mode for that. But I really enjoy the freedom of wireless (high quality to boot).
The other con is the active noise cancellation is really just not very good. I thought it was broken it is so subtle. It really only seems to reduce the inherent "ocean in a seashell" effect you get with the cans on in a quiet room--it does very little for trains/planes/conversations/brown noise. The saving grade is that the over the ear design passively muffles a lot of sound on its own so they still work good in loud environments. People complain about a hiss but I don't really notice that--it is very slight when the music is between songs but it's not like you can hear it when the music is playing.

Do NOT Buy, Especially for a Computer!

Date:October 14, 2013
Let's see if Logitech will allow an honest review to be posted.
Sounds good. Build quality is good, feels sturdy. Nice case.
There is over half a second of delay in the audio if using wireless -- but wireless is the whole point. So if you're watching a show, or youtube, what you hear is at least half a second behind what you see. People speak several words onscreen before you hear them. Completely unusable for gaming. This alone makes them basically junk.
There is a constant hissing noise. You can avoid it by turning the headset "off", and using it wired, but again, wireless is the whole point.
Worse than the hissing, which is bad enough, there's also interference noise. It sounds about like when you're between channels when you're dialing though the an FM radio. Horrible.
Skyping with friends, they say I sound very tinny and digitized.
Not so horrible, but also worth mentioning, the micro-usb charger is an absurdly tight fit. It takes about 100 ft/lbs of force to plug it in and about 150 to remove it. It takes so much force, you're scared you're going to break the headset.
If you only ever plan to use this with your phone, and never watch youtube on your phone, or else always have it plugged in to your phone, go for it. Otherwise, if you're a sane person and want to stay that way, just avoid it altogether.

There is a video showing that there is a significant hissing noise issue with UE 9000! Search on YT for:
Logitech UE 9000 review noise problem
These headphones sound great with loud music but at such a high price there should be a way to turn the Active Noise Cancellation off!
I owned a pair and this hissing noise disqualify them as a premium product!
I returned them because of that hissing noise.

Heartdoc's Ultimate and best-of-all-time UE 9000s

Date:June 11, 2013
:High-End Audio/Video; PCs, Pads and Smart phones.
I have nowise ever had anything negative to discourse concerning ANY Logitech products. Logitech's customer support being the BEST in the business, notwithstanding.
More consequentially, my new UE 9000 Wireless Headset is the BEST headset I have ever had the pleasure of listening too. I have own the best of Sony, Bose, and a few others. Logitech, none of those aforementioned--and not mentioned--did not come close to your UE 9000. You hit the ball out the stadium--pass the park vehicles--and the balling is still flying.

Just the best headphones I've ever had!
Though expensive, still worth buying and really brings the bond only with you and the music.

My Beats by Dre Pro's are now on Craigslist.

Date:December 19, 2012
:iphone, computer, studio
My absolute favorite way to listen to music is through my UE-7 Pro's. But in-ears aren't always the best solution for travel, working at your computer, etc. And with the money I've invested in those, and the time it'd take to get a new set (being custom molded), I often leave them home out of fear of losing them, breaking them, etc. I save them for when I truly need them - performing with my band... So I always wanted some over-the-ear UE's, but they didn't exist.
I bought my Beats Pro's last year. They sound good in a quiet environment, but the cans are shallow, and I couldn't wear them very long before my ears would get sore. There wasn't any noise-cancellation in the Pro model either, but the 'studio' version was so bass heavy that I couldn't possibly listen through those. In addition, there was no phone capabilities, so everytime the phone would ring, I'd have to take them off. And if I was in a loud environment, I'd actually have to take them off, and put in my Apple earphones before answering. What a mess.
Not anymore.
These 9000's sound BETTER than the Pro model in my opinion. True reproduction across several genre's, and even when you're cordless and using bluetooth, the quality is fantastic (I've tried other bluetooth headphones and the difference between using the cord and not using the cord is like going from a CD to fm radio... huge loss in quality). There is a small noticable difference with and without the cord, but the gap is SO much less than anything else out there that it's actually usable for us audiophiles out there.
Add in the phone capabilities, the noise-cancelling, and a deeper can with memory foam that is actually comfortable, and i find myself wearing these things without even noticing.
My only critical feedback is that it seems the mic on the headphones distorts easier than it should. Many times, the people I'm talking to mention that it's just a bit harder to hear. I'm sure UE will fix that in the next go-round, but definitely not something that would ever prevent me from purchasing again.
If you're in the market for the best headphones, you've found them. There's nothing better out there in my opinion.
