Keyboard Modifiers

Date:August 15, 2013
On Bluetooth keyboards modifier keys like Ctrl, Alt, Shift F-keys does not work as expected. I wonder if this is solved with a wired keyboard.

Add a USB slot to the keyboard

Date:June 13, 2013
Could a slot be added to the keyboard to read and transfer information to a USB/flash drive? This addition would make the iPad and keyboard much more versatile.

As an educator...

Date:June 4, 2013
When we deploy iPads in the classroom they are fully charged, and when they get put back an the end of a session, charging resumes. iPads are never in a charging state when students are using them, there just aren't enough outlets in the classroom to allow for that. One simple cable from the keyboard to the iPad is perfect for a classroom environment.
Personally, I use the slim keyboard case offered by Logitech on my own iPad when I need to keep charging while I work.

Fatal flaw in design

Date:May 28, 2013
If plan to use iPad for long time (or low on power), can't use this keyboard. Schools all day use of iPad is more then iPad has power for.
Needs an option to pass power though the keyboard into iPad.
Simple solution, a 30 pin or Lightning connector (or both!) on keyboard for power (possibly data too) pass-though.
On plus side does look to be a comfortable full size KB.

Classrooms use Cart Chargers

Date:May 25, 2013
Given that most iPads in classrooms are deployed from carts that have a limited number of outlets, having a keyboard with no charging requirements greatly simplifies things. Our iPad carts have slots with dock connector cables, one each for 45 iPads. There are also two outlets near the top. There are no USB cords in the cart as it sits, so one would need to use powered hubs in the outlets, and have 45 additional cords to plug in, if rechargeable keyboards were used.
Logitech's solution is perfect for the middle school where I work, since it eliminates this entire cabling problem. Also, kids don't use keyboards for every iPad-based task, so power drain would not be a significant factor.
For the intended purchaser, a wired keyboard is a great approach.

No way to charge with keyboard attached

Date:May 22, 2013
With the keyboard plugged in there is no way to charge the iPad. You have to stop using the iPad with the keyboard while it is being charged. I don't think this would be good in a classroom situations with the iPads are being used all day with the keyboard attached. Should have provided some way of charging while using the iPad. Other than this, it looks like a good idea.
