The mouse scores well for any criteria I can think of.
Left and right click are smooth and effortless and are not prone to accidental clicking.
The scroll wheel works well in both modes as well as switching in between the two. Though I rarely took advantage of the side-scrolling feature, it works well and will not be activated accidentally.
The forward and back buttons on the mouse have long ago replaced the forward and back buttons on my browser.
The application browser (side wheel) is a nifty tool, though it never did replace the ingrained instinct to go for the taskbar. There was never any issue with pressing it accidentally.
The search button is a luxury. I set it to Google and it was very convenient. I later found a way to get it to search Wikipedia and have been ecstatic ever since. Similarly, no issues with pressing it accidentally. (Also good for upping that button count, which proves that your mouse is better than those of your peers)
Very comfortable. Almost my entire hand can rest on the mouse (and I have comparatively large hands). The thumb-rest is plenty large and has never bothered my thumb in the slightest.
Design is elegant, though you can make aesthetic judgments from any number of pictures on this site and elsewhere online.
The battery is in for the long haul. Lasts upwards of a week, left on the entire time.
Battery indicator is low-profile, dims while the mouse is inactive and is easily visible while the mouse is in use. Turns red when battery is low, but will continue to function for hours afterward.
The stand is solid and does not tip or topple in any way. The mouse is secure in the stand. The mouse charges quickly (matter of an hour or so)
Surface detection is exceptional. Works without a hitch for both picture editing and gaming without a mousepad on an old desk. (also: my hand, my leg, countertops, books etc.)
Wireless works from further away than it will ever need to (my basement to the outside of the house).
Durable - has lasted two and a half years of daily use, often several hours. Recently the micro-controller for the left-click has been worn down, but it's still under warranty!
My advice? If you can afford it, get it. It's an investment. You'll never need another mouse. (I'll never need another mouse)
