Saying goodbye to an old friend

Date:November 11, 2010
I've used my trusty old Cordless TrackMan Wheel for the best part of the last decade. My wife has the corded version on both her home and work computers. We've absolutely loved them for their ergonomic and space saving features. We also enjoy watching newbies try to pick up and move the whole device around the desk!
Mine still works perfectly. My only complaint, as so many others have complained, is with the out-dated dongle on a cord.
Logitech finally did it! They've released a new version based on the tiny unifying receiver, branded the M570. Except for new forward and back buttons and a cool blue ball, the new version looks and feels identical to the old one. Major kudos to Logitech for not changing all the great features that made the old Cordless TrackMan Wheel so successful and trusted by so many.
Sadly, though, this means the time has come to retire my old TrackMan that has been so reliable and has been with me for so long. Farewell, old friend.

Best design since sliced bread!

Date:November 11, 2010
For novices to this design, the mouse may seem odd and misplaced, but after spending some quality time with it you will find the mouse actually becomes a natural extension of your mind. I hope Logitech never gets rid of this design - undoubtedly the most ergonomic, effective and enjoyable design I have ever experienced in mouse use!

Great features; lousy durability

Date:November 6, 2010
I work for a government engineering office. I have used an identical, though corded Logitech Trackman Wheel for 10 years with no problems other than occasionally cleaning off the ball, etc.
At my recommendation, we purchased 18 cordless Logitech Trackman Wheels for everyone in the office.
Even following instructions as to placement, distance, etc. they often had to be reset.
And, one by one, within 6 months they all stopped working permanently---- Boy was I embarrassed!!!
DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED!

Best Mouse on the Market

Date:October 19, 2010
I first bought the corded Trackman and purchased the cordless about a year later.
I've owned Logitech products for a long time now and they're all still working 100%

MOST COMFORTABLE DEVICE OUT THERE

Date:October 19, 2010
This is by far the best pointing device that exists. The only improvement that I would like to see would be a version that uses bluetooth or even the unifying receiver. The wireless adapter that plugs into your computer is very bulky, and outdated. That said, this is still the best out there!

Wonderful but out of date

Date:October 5, 2010
I find these by far the most comfortable pointing devices (whether wired or wireless) around.
I do wish the range were greater and I wish they would make a bluetooth dongle version like they do with their mice--no stupid cord for the receiver.
Other than these gripes I would have given it 5 stars on everything and I would consider that to be under-rating it.

avoid this wireless mouse

Date:September 29, 2010
This is my first experience with wireless products and it was not a good one.
I had purchased a wireless keyboard and sent it back.
Now this wireless mouse just stopped working.
It worked for about 2 weeks and puff it quit.
The wireless concept sounds good, but the bugs have not been worked out yet.
Stay with the wired keyboard and mouse products.

Have had 6 so far

Date:August 27, 2010
I have loved these for years now I just keep wearing them out. But I am with most of the people in the reviews Please PLEASE update this device. It needs the connections and versatilities that your gaming mice have. I love them because I can use them anywhere a mice cannot go (in bed, on the couch) Blue Tooth would be awesome. some extra buttons and a higher resolution would make this an extreme track ball. Come on you have the market cornered. Do it Do it you won't!!

Awesome but needs a tune up

Date:August 25, 2010
This is the best and only trackball out there in this config. Only problem is the receiver is outdated. One more button would be cool, also. Logitech please update with a smaller receiver and button. Colors would be nice too or even a black.

Needs Bluetooth, otherwise awesome

Date:August 25, 2010
I work all day with this mouse and it is substantially faster and more precise than any other mouse once you get used to it.
Seriously, when is the best mouse going to get bluetooth?
I have even consdiered trying to take the guts out of a bluetooth mouse since Logitech doesn't seem to think updating this model is necessary.

I don't know how many of these trackballs I have owned over the years. I can't imagine a better design. But....
IT IS TIME FOR BLUETOOTH!!!!

I'd buy three of these if they updated the USB

Date:August 13, 2010
The USB receiver needs updating badly. It is unusable with a laptop. I want a wireless trackball for use with my laptop. Ideally, it would use the same kind of USB receiver that the MX Anywhere Mouse uses. If Logitech updates the USB receiver, I'd buy three of these to use with all three of the laptops used by people at my company.

tired of old RF receiver

Date:August 11, 2010
Time for bluetooth Logitech. I'm considering ditching my Media Elite keyboard, since you wont release Vista or Win7 drivers for it, and I'm considering just using a corded trackman if you won't deliver a bluetooth receiver that will work with one of your newer keyboards (that are supported under Win7)!

The Best and Most Comfort

Date:August 9, 2010
My cordless Trackman wheel recently stopped working. I can't complain because it lasted 10 years or close to it. I am hating the traditional mouse that I'm temporarily using. The Trackman Wheel is the only mouse I can find with the thumb wheel. I am surprised, though, after all these years, the style hasn't changed. It is the same ole color and the receiver could use a trim down. I would like it be inconspicuous. Overall, I wouldn't trade it for another mouse.

Still no update?

Date:August 6, 2010
I keep checking back every few months to see if they have updated this mouse. I've had both the corded and cordless versions for 10 years now, and would love to see them get rid of the bulky USB receiver. This is TOTALLY not practical for use with a laptop!!! The hours I spend each day on the computer make the TrackMan ideal because there is no hand fatigue. But c'mon...how many people have to complain or request a change before it's made?
Logitech is ignoring us! They would sell thousands of these in one week's time if they would just update the receiver!

The best mouse I have ever used!

Date:July 30, 2010
I have used a Logitech cordless roller ball mouse for years (this is my 2nd one) and I wouldn't use any other. As a software developer I spend s lot of time programming and I have to cover most of the screen and with this mouse my hand, arm never gets tired. Once you get accustomed to the roller ball, you can accurately cover the Screen very fast and never get tired. The drag lock wheel is a great feature as well as all the other customization you can do with the rest of the buttons. Love this mouse...

Never owned a better mouse that could go through so much. I have had this mouse for over 6 years and only problem i have is a dead battery. NEVER had an issue. I would recommend making it bluetooth but it does its job well.

LONG time user...

Date:July 4, 2010
Still have my corded "flat" TrackMan on the old Win98 out in the garage. Have had the cordless almost since the introduction. My wife has gone through two corded TrackMan's and a cordless (Photographer/Photoshop pro). The "flat" fit me better, but the current design works very well, too.
Have to echo what the others have said about the corded receiver. Ancient technology. Update! (Same goes for her recently purchased Logitech cordless keyboard). Update!
Kudos to you, Logitech, for allowing ALL opinions on your products. Thank you from a loyal customer.
