This is a product that I cannot live without. I have several of them on different computers. I have found only one product that has a feature that I like better--the Mac Mighty Mouse. I generally hate any movable mouse, but the Mighty Mouse's scroll ball feature for viewing simply works on all areas just as you wold expect it to. If I could gain that feature with the TrackMan then I could throw away the Mouse. The TrackMan works great for all of my Photoshop work--I do use a Wacom pad when I need it. A battery charge level would be nice, but not worth leaving the product for. It is a great fit for my hands and really has helped prevent any further carpal tunnel problems. Please expand on this product line!!!

Include a Micro Receiver

I won't mention the pro's because they are well documented. I will only mention the two things I don't like about this.
-Include a micro receiver
Many users these days use laptops. I love your other cordless mice for laptops because they have the micro usb receiver.
-Include the turbo scroll
Some of your other mice have the turbo scroll wheel. This would be a great addition to this mouse.
These two features would make this the 'perfect' trackball mouse. Without them I see this only to be useful for desktop users that do not use the internet/design applications all that often.
Logitech, I hope you're listening.

I much prefer Trackballs. When my 'wired' ones wore out I searched (& searched) for a new one. While I like this one I would respectfully make the following suggestions. [1] My biggest 'beef' with it- the base/usb is WAY too big ( I use a laptop only). In some ways it is almost like having a 'wired' mouse (and I only want a wireless!) The Arc (my other mouse) has a nice tiny usb and not the wired thing) but I much prefer the many things the trackball mouse has to offer). Whenever I have to pick up/move my laptop often (e.g. show someone else something on the screen)...the base unit always has to be take out first. [2] I am a woman- smaller hands, it would be better ergonomically if it were a bit smaller (especially height)..it probably isn't feasible to make a male/female model although there are men with smaller hands) so maybe a 'happy medium'? I'm not a gamer like many of the guys use it for...(I am a graphics designer), so a smaller one for smaller hands would be great! [3] The wire started pulling out of the 'base' so now it is taped. I have to see the warranty but I don't think I have the original recpt any more (my bad). I think Logitech products are the best...! I wish there were more trackball/wireless models to choose from. Thank you!

This is a great product BUT Logitech, you need to take the best features from the Trackman Marble FX and incorporate them into this model. Larger, heavier ball shifted slightly to the left, better bearings, add a cord or make it rechargeable and provide a base that doesn't slip.
The thumb-ball models are terrible for gaming and I have to have my scroll wheel! Bad bearings and a ball that is too light/small kill the experience. I should be able to spin the ball and let go, it should still spin for a bit. Think FPS, spin around, aim, shoot. :)

I love the trackball, but I really am not a fan of this particular one. I think as someone else said, when you have longer fingers, it is very hard to operate. I want to go back to my cheap version. I just tried to buy the trackball that is opposite, and after about 30 minutes, I know that I will never get used to it, so that is going back to the store tomorrow. And I hate a regular mouse. What to do?

This is a well build product, but doesn't work that well for those of us with long fingers. To use the left-click button, I found that I have to bend my thumb. If the buttons were located just a half-inch more forward, the ergonomics issue wouldn't exist for me! The wheel is poorly located, and takes some getting used to. Otherwise, the performance of this mouse is great! If you have short fingers, this is the rollerball for you!

I had an older logitech trackball that I loved but is now out of production. This works OK but the base is much too big. I have longer than average fingers and this trackball is just too big. I find myself stretching my fingers and regripping because of this. Now I have a $60 trackball that I can't use. Definitely not worth the money.

I used to use the old trackman marble but since upgraded to this and its much better. It takes a bit to get used to a trackball but once you do you don't want to go back to a regular mouse.
One complaint I have is that my thumb wears out quickly from all the clicking, and the mouse doesn't have a cord. I would rather have it wired than wireless to avoid the hassle of batteries.

I don't know why everyone doesn't use a trackball. This is the best of many that I've had. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT I'D LIKE TO SEE A CORDED ONE FOR EASY USE ON A LAPTOP WITHOUT THE TRANSMITTER. (Logitech, are you listening?)

This product far surpasses the others in it's class.
Easy to use with multi-Buttons and programable Software, it truly is the surfers tool of choice.
No more constant moving the mouse around, the multi task buttons are super fast and ergonomicaly designed to provide the user with unsurpassed ease and mobility.
Highly constructed quality in a price range within everyone budget.
Once you try it you'll wonder how you ever went so long with the old tailed mouse.
I highly recomend it !

This is the only mouse that my wife and I use on our computers (1 desktop and 1 laptop each). We have only had one quit working after years of use. I keep a new one on hand just in case because I couldn't "compute" without it.

If your looking for a mouse replacement that is also good as htpc remote, this is it.
I am using the trackball when I am sitting in the sofa with the trackball in my lap. Works Perfect!
I also love the extra buttions when playing musik, video or surfing the net.
The only bad is the range but if you are under aprox 3m from the receiver the device works fine,

The Single best thing in the World of Computers

Sorry Folks, but you have got to be out of your mind to use a mouse instead of a trackball. With a wireless trackball you just pick it up put it where you want it and it does not matter what is in the way. No mouse pad or designated area of movement; you just move your fingers and away it goes. Now the optical Trackman is an 8 count em, 8 button fully customizable gizmo. For me it works perfectly in every way. I had one go bad on me after about a year and they sent me a new one, so there was no problem there. I copy, cut, paste, reduce, left click right click, scroll and roll all with one hand in one place. It is the single best object in all of computing ergonomics.

I bought this trackball for my HTPC. It's much easier to use on a couch than a regular mouse. Ergonomically it's perfect for me, and has all the features I could want. There are 2 big problems that make me regret this purchase:
1. Wireless connectivity flakes out every few days. Rebooting, changing batteries, trying the reconnect buttons all don't work. I have to reach around the computer and switch around the USB wireless dongle connection and let Vista install the drivers. Very annoying.
2. The grippy, anti-slip covering on the top black part of the trackball rubs off surprisingly quick. I've had this less than 6 months and it's peeling in places. In other places it's raised up or blistered up from the plastic surface underneath. The trackball looks like it's 5 years old. I expect better from Logitech.
If you are looking for a wireless trackball, look for something else. This one, despite it's comfortable design, has too many flaws.

I assume you have reviewed this Trackman before you buy it. Five years ago, when I bought the TrackMan, there were not many reviews as today.
The features of Trackman are great compare to other mouses in the market. I found every fingers lie on top of each buttons of Trackman. I love the back and forward buttoms which make surfing the web more user friendly.
The connetivity is the problem. Once in awhile, the Trackman lose it signal with the wireless base receiver. Why is that happen? I found if I have an object which stands between the TrackMan and its base, the connection is lose. Or if I placed the base under the desk (on top of CPU), the connetion is lose. The best is to place the base behind the monitor; therefore, it connects with the TrackMan continously.
