Better than anything in this price range.

Date:January 5, 2010
This is a great little unit. For such a small, insignificant looking speaker system, it really sounds great and will surprise you when you hear it for the first time. Obviously you wont be getting sound that will rattle the windows in your house nor will you be getting something that will serve as a be-all, end-all stereo system for your iPod or mp3 player, but it works excellent as a portable substitute to ear plugs. Nevermind those other speaker systems that look similar, the MM32 is in an entirely different league than any of those knock-offs.
I've read reviews here of people complaining about adapters, but that's never been a concern for me because this system does not charge your iPod and I have never ran the iPod charging cord through the base of this unit to charge my iPod. I dont even use the adapters that came with it. The unit has a clamping mechanism where your iPod sits, so i just put my 30g Classic in the slot and clamp it down. Sometimes I just sit my iPod down in front of the speakers and plug the speakers into it.
I got this unit so I could have some music playing while I'm at work. I work in a slightly noisy environment so my satisfaction with the sound is hit or miss depending on what kind of music I'm shuffling through.
I have rechargeable batteries for mine and they easily last through a 10 hour shift. In fact, my iPod dies out before the rechargeables are dead, so it's really efficient when it comes to battery consumption. And it only requires 4 AA batteries, so buying 2 sets of rechargeables wont hit your wallet too hard.
All things considered, this is a great speaker system. I've never seen anything that even comes close at this price point.
Recently I heard a Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 unit at an in-store display and have completely fallen in love with it. It's a lot louder than the MM32 (much bigger sound, deeper bass, etc) and has a built in rechargeable battery and a remote, plus it charges your iPod when plugged in to an outlet. With my job being a little noisy and the MM32 not being as loud with certain types of music, I'm going to pick one of these up for sure. Even after I purchase the Pure-Fi Anywhere 2, I'll still be using the MM32 in my home office.
So if you're looking for something ultra portable, affordable, and a great alternative to ear plugs, the MM32 will fit the bill perfectly.

Great sounds - good ipod usability

Date:December 20, 2009
Overall: Great sound, convenience & portability, but only OK for docking functionality compared to other "docking" speaker systems.
Sound: great full range, room filling sound. You would not guess these are small travel speakers. I was very impressed. I've stopped using my boom box in favor of these speakers. It's so nice to be able to easily carry them with me around the house.
iPOD connectivity: first, it does not charge your ipod. all it does is allow you to run the USB cable from your PC to the ipod under the speakers. Pretty lame!
Battery Life: spectacular. I use rechargeable batteries in mine and they seem to run forever!!! Logitech has done a fantastic job making these speakers energy efficient.
Portability: I travel a lot and love the carrying case and small AC adapter. Everything fits in an easily portable, small package.
iPod fit: classic ipod fits just fine without a case. My new ipod Touch also fits (albeit upside down so you can plug in the audio jack) as long as you have a slim case.

NOT FOR 8GB NANO!! BEWARE

Date:November 27, 2009
I read many reviews of this item but I guess the one I missed was the most important as I just bought my daughter an 8GB nano for Christmas and was trying to fit it somehow into the MM32 docking station only to find out I couldn't get it to fit. I am soooo disappointed in finding this out as I read it was compatible with all Ipods.

its ok

I have a zune 8gb, and it still works pretty well. I us use the ipod nano holder, but i sometimes have to really jam it in. It would have been nice if it had a remote, but it still sounds nice.

Good but Not Great

Date:June 22, 2009
I agree with the other reviews. I think overall the unit is a great concept, but like the other reviews, my 8 GB Nano won't fit. When I read the package I got the impression it would work with any iPod (except perhaps the Shuffle). This lowers the formerly very high opinion I had of Logitech products.
I think you should offer a free adapter that will fit the 8 GB Nano - there are lots of them our there! I know there's room in the slot - you just need to configure the template a bit differently. That's a small price to pay to retain the loyalty of a significant group of customers.

Lack of Important Info

Date:January 6, 2009
I agree with rb, but I'm a little more harsh about it. I get really irritated when important information isn't included on packaging so someone can make the correct decision about their purchase. The square 8GB iPod isn't that old. A lot of people still have them, but no where on the packaging does it say that these speakers don't hold that particular iPod. My husband thought he had bought me a great Christmas present, and I can't even use it correctly. I guess one of my sons will get it to use with their iPod, and I'll still not have an iPod dock for my office! Bummer!!

mm 32 Speakers

Date:January 3, 2009
I was disappointed that the cradles did not fit the Nano Ipod 8G. The docking station does not accomadate all Ipods and this was not on the package. The packaging infers that all the Ipods will fit in the docking station. On closer review, the webste for logitech explains that not all Ipods will fit in it. Too late.
