Some of the things I like besides what everone else said about sound (which I agree with), are other things like the weighted stand, and the extra long cable, very nice. I like the on/off light, if you need to totally sure the mic is off... just hit that button. I even like the style of it. Good job.

I am handicapped with multiple sclerosis and have been using speech recognition software for written communications for over 20 years. Speech recognition software is only as effective as the microphone being used. In my tenure of using speech recognition the Logitech USB Desktop Microphone is the most accurate microphone I have ever used without an exception. In the past I have used several different speech recognition certified headset microphones, desktop microphones and Bluetooth's .
Read the enclosed Logitech USB Desktop Microphone instructions before and during the installation so your experience will be as rewarding as mine.

Works great- plug it in- adjust a few volume settings in the control panel and your done. Noise filtering works fairly well in a very small area- tv less then 24 inches away. Cheap and much better then more expensive desk mics.

I bought this microphone a week ago. I am a Win7 beta tester and I have to say it was surprisingly easy everything... I opened the box, plugged in the mic, and in 10 seconds it was working (without having to make anything). I tested the quality of the sound, it had almost absolutely no background sound, this was what I needed. The price is a little bit high in my opinion, but it's worth investing. 30$ for 3 years (warranty). Looks nice, works like a charm... It's the perfect microphone for non-professional / home use.

It won't work with Windows Vista x32

I had the microphone shipped to my parents and bought another one for myself to get a better sound quality with Skype. And they don't work! The product description should specify that it wouldn't work with Vista x32. Now I have to go through the trouble of returning both. I would've given NO stars if I had the option.

Works Fine with my Vista x64 machine

This microphone works fine with my machine running with Vista x64. I plugged the microphone in and it downloaded the drivers, however, when I did a test recording nothing played back. All you need to do is turn the microphone level up in the control panel under sound, then it works perfectly fine. Much nicer than wearing a headset.

From XP to Vista

I have had this microphone for about 2 years now, and recently switched OS from XP to Vista. A glutton for punishment, I first plugged in the mic to use while Skyping -- the drivers loaded in Vista seamlessly, and viewers said my audio quality increased like 100%. So: smooth to use, good quality, a product to rely on -- like all of my experiences with Logitech!

This microphone works great with skype and msn. The sound quality is awesome too, I've seen people on youtube playing their instruments with this exact microphone in the video recording the audio and it sounds so much better than other youtube music videos out there.
Anyway I saw someone complaining about the microphone not being compatible with vista x64. I've been in the beta test for Windows 7 for some months now and it works 100% compatible with Windows 7 beta 7000 x64, and probably will work 100% compatible with windows 7 final, so no worries for the future!

I was a little hesitant to even try setting this up on my Vista system after reading reviews found here. I was rather surprised at how well it worked once I did set it up. It's rather fun to use and in my case does a better job then my typing.

I've had this mic for about 6 months and have been very pleased. I use it primarily with Skype, and sometimes Lotus Sametime. Unfortunately Sametime automatically turns the volume up all the way and this mic is very sensitive, causing an echo if I have the speakers turned up to far. Skype allows me to over-ride the auto adjust of the mic volume so it works fine there.
As far as comments about it not working with Vista ... I use XP. I have read far too many reviews lately on various products and it seems the individual product tends to get blamed for not working properly with Vista. Seems to me the common thread is Vista itself. I say ditch Vista and wait for Windows 7 in hopes of an operating system that is truely an improvement over its predecessor.

No studio work just recording web based demos. This works great. Only paid 20 bucks at Amazon and it works like a $50 mic. Sound is great, can just set on desk and talk normally for it to pick up.
It was sooo 'plug and play' that my 5 year old can use it. If you are having issues with USB mic then you may need a new computer!

When I first installed the mic on Windows Vista it caused my computer to crash. Then it said there was missing registry when I tried to start up my computer and it would not restart till I unplugged the mic. I had to run registry mechanic to fix the problems it created and now it works. However it is relatively quiet and I am not sure if the only way i can fix that is by moving it closer to my mouth. I still need to experiment with that. When it is close to my mouth the cable is in the way. The sound is clear but quiet.
