I found that once I had the updated drivers this cam works well. I have not had many of the problems encountered by others. I think the resolution of the video is quite good even the very low email resolution. The other resolutions up to 4MB become very large files. None of these work well without good internet speed. The only problem I have is the mic does not work with Skype. I also get better sound and video with Skype than with Vid. There is not a lot of ghosting with close movements. Thecam fits nicely in the center of my laptop screen with a usb plug on the back. The depth of field is also very good. As I am new at this, I don't have much comparisonwith other units. It is certainly better tham the lesser priced cams i previewed. Obviously, if you want really great quality, you will have to pay for it.

Every time I try to make a video, it is always very jumpy and the video quality is bad. I've tried adjusting video and audio settings, but nothing seems to work. Taking pictures works well for me, and the effects are fun. However, when I try to narrate a video on my video editing software, it does not recognize my webcam microphone, no matter what I do or adjust. This is very frustrating to me.
Overall, good pictures, clarity, and effects, but awful video quality.

Been using this product for over 6 months and still love it. Great picture and video quality and really easy to use. A few friends of mine also purchased this after I showed them how well it works.

I like my QuickCam a lot, but I think the fact that it takes a while to find what you want to do is a pain... and I also think it's not worth the price, but hey, it's mic works great and it's camera is beautiful although it could have a few improvements... I would recommend it if you had a spare $100, if not, it's not worth the price

This is a great camera. It's nice using skype and getting that little perfection icon in the window. My friend says he can see me with fluid motion and crystal sharp focus.
Rightlight technology is nice, but I don't use it. It picks up low-light perfectly fine in my dimly lit room. The microphone is extremely nice, and everyone I know can hear me perfectly. Although, they could hear me just fine on my $14 Rocketfish camera as well.
Only complaints I have are that it's just as much as the pro 9000, yet the pro 9000 fits a laptop better and takes higher resolution still photos. What's the deal with the price? It couldn't possibly be the cheap plastic stand it came with, or the little protective baggy included.
It's a little annoying how it fits on a laptop. It comes down too far (disrupting my view of the screen a few millimeters, not much but still enough to gripe) and does not swivel like my other camera did.
In all honesty, buy the pro 9000 because it fits a laptop better and takes higher res still photos. It doesn't come with a stand or protective zipper bag, but those can be picked up for a couple bucks if you really need them for some reason.
Definitely buy it for the lens it's equipped with.

I have a dell laptop with an internal camera, but I purchased this camera after reading about the high quality. It is definitely much better than the internal camera. We use Skype and call overseas all the time, and the quality has been excellent.

Don't get me wrong...it's not a piece of junk or anything, but I can't get the thing to stay attached to my notebook...it keeps popping off, so I guess that means I can only use it with the stand. So why did I bother buying a cam for notebooks?
Also, I can't adjust ANYTHING through the settings menu. The options are there, but are inactive, so I can't change anything.
I bought this cam because it supposedly came with effects...no effects.
Bottom line, I have NEVER been so disappointed with a purchase.
Oh yes, then we come to clarity. When I first installed the software and plugged the camera in I was THRILLED with the picture quality and clarity. Then I tried to use it with an online application and it got REALLY blurry. I can't get the blurriness to go away. I would have been better off sticking with my cheap old webcam.

I've only had it 4 days now but I think it is wonderful. I bought it to go with my new lap top so I could chat with my special someone in kuwait while he is deployed. Judging from his reaction, being able to see me clearly, he is very happy with it as well. *smiles* I had no trouble installing and was using it right away.

I use my two QuickCam Pros with Skype on a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop running XP and a Dell Inspirion desktop running Vista. Both perform well on their respective operating system after intalling the latest updates. Video and audio quality are good but do depend on your broadband connection and computer speed. A great product for business or personal video conferencing.

Excellent product. This is my third webcam from logitech (my first being the Logitech QuickCam Messenger from 2002 and second being the QuickCam Fusion.) The quality surpasses anything that Logitech has made to date. I bought it in September 2008 and have been recommending to everyone that I cam with and to those that do not yet have a cam. The length of the cord could be a little longer, but i use the USB extension cord that came with my Logitech VX Nano mouse that I recently purchased. Both are outstanding products at a great price.

This web cam is excellent, but the software that goes along with it is not. The software froze up my computer and did funky things to it. My friend had the same problem as well. When I video chat with my friends the picture quality is wonderful! The downside is that my camera constantly freezing up. I also can't use the picture/video taking program that goes along with it because it did damage to my computer! Good product but you may have some difficulty at times when using it!

As a frequent user of video conferencing, i've tried many solutions as well as the necessary hardware. Webcam is the next most important factor apart from the conferencing software. This camera is one of the best so far from the image quality to the ergonomics design. The Carl Zesis lens contributes to the excellent image quality and the ability to supports HD is really a plus point. As for the design, you can either clip on to your notebook else a stand is also provided for users who wish to use it on a desktop PC. Combining this camera with the best VC software in the market, VMEET, im able to go HD quality conferencing even in a limited bandwidth network environment, especially using the wifi provided by most hotels. Thumbs up.
