Bought this cam so my wife could make video calls with her daughter 2000 miles away. Camera installation was a no-brainer...took 10 minutes. I used the camera software to then download SKype software (pretty convenient) and was up and running within 10 more minutes. Video quality is outstanding. The 'face-follow' feature is a nice toy , but unless you're going to walk around the room, it gets annoying as camera constantly shifts your image. Quick recap: out of the store and video chatting in under an hour...doesn't get much easier.
The cam also performs extremely well in low light.
Perfect match for Skype...and priced fairly for what you get.

This camera has a great picture, great lighting adjustment, and great sound quality, but it does not track movement well at all; it is blurry whenever you move and freezes during recording of videos for blogs. It does not track mouth movement well. I messed around with the settings but the result was the same. The video tutorials were very basic and did not address the problem.
I wish the quickcam communicate would work on Vista- I never had this problem with it.

I am very pleased with my Quickcam Pro 9000. The people I video call have the cheaper models and occassionally I can see a clear picture of them. But with the Quickcam Pro 9000, my sister asked about something on my wall 10' behind me -- able to identify it. The lens autofocus on movement and can focus on multiple people at the same time. I have had my Quickcam for 1 month, it was super easy to setup. I am very happy with the quality of this webcam and would definitely recommend this to anyone. Being able to see the person clearly is the reason you're buying a webcam anyway, right?

The cabling is subject to picking up engine noise rendering the audio incomprehensible. Also the plastic mount was a step backward from the Ultravision's flexible mount.
Very disappointed. I hope they redesign the audio portion to be more like the Ultravision, which never picked up any engine noise.

After having 5 cheap webcams....i decided to break down and buy a really nice cam. Well i bought the pro 9000...and hands down this is the best webcam out there. It might be a little bit pricey, but its well worth it. The actual picture is crystal clear and sharp....almost on the same level as my point and shoot 8 mega pixels. I was very surprise how the picture was, and I was chatting from a dark room(my room mate works nights, so i have to keep the lights off). The picture turned out very bright.. with the only light source of that of my monitor. Buy this...you wont be dis-appointed. .BTW if you are concerned about working with VISTA...dont be...its an easy plug and play..unlike Micro-soft lifecams!!

This is a great product, I bought it because it was rated the best, had great reviews and was Vista compatible. BUT BEWARE, you need a minimum of 2.4 GHz processor or you'll lose functionality. This is not clear so now I have to upgrade a brand new computer or let my camera gather dust.

After reading all the reviews on the QuickCam Pro 9000, I decided to purchase it. After 3 days now Im very satisfied with this product, The only draw back I've seen so far ,( Which is not that big of a deal) there is no lens cover, the product should of came with a cleaning cloth for the lens or special q-tips or brush for the lens. Since most computer desks are set up in a corner of the room, the lights are mostly behind you. This makes the special fun effects hard to obtain the proper lighting. I had to place a desk lamp in front of me to obtain this. (No biggie) . The mounting bracket works well for flat screen monitors. I found it to work well with, MSN,Skype and Yahoo Messengers. I"ve had many web cams and this is the best so far. Great job Logitec,

I purchased this camera based on other customer reviews. I had previously had a quickcam that was about 5 years old. I was never very pleased with the picture of my old camera, and when I got my new PC with Vista on it, the camera would not work. Time to upgrade. After reading the reviews from other people I decided to get the 9000. I was very surprised at the quality of this cam. When I first removed it from the packaging I saw Carl Zeiss stamped above the lens. I immediately new this would be excellent quality. I was not mistaken. The clarity of this cam is top notch. My family was very happy to see our new son on this cam as we are oceans apart. I gave 3 stars on the ergonomic as the stand/clamp thingy on the back is a little acquard and doesn't work best in every position. It fits very well on top of my new monitor, but not sure how well it would work in other places. Regardless, this cam is DEFINATELY worth the money!

I'm very happy with this web cam, it's much better than other's I've owned. I feel that the "picture phones" of sci fi have finally come true. People at the receiving end of the picture have commented several times on on the sharpness of the camera.

I am using this camera for Skype applications but have not purchased a videocam from Logitech for a number of years. It is astounding how improved this camera is compared to the earlier generation webcams from Logitech. The video compression and quality are both quite good and the frame rates are impressive. Not perfect, but not bad either. The audio with this model is OK ... probably on the average side.
Installation is easy. It would be nice if their were quicker, easier access to the pan/zoom functions so they were easier to get to when in a Skype call but it is not bad. We are happy with these devices.

I was given this cam as a gift and wound up recommending the rest of the family to get it. So far we account for 4 of these webcams.
Great design and wonderful mike setup with no feed back even 3 inches from the speakers. Quality is great.
I bought a Logitech cam 10 years ago but it died a natural death. As this was given to me at Christmas 2008, it surprised me how much I liked it. I had no intention of buying one or even thinking that I was going to need one.
This is really a great addition to the family.

I have been through a few webcam and this one is the best by far. The picture and video quality is as good as a high-end camcorder. There is some foozen situations but the quality is way better than most. I even recorded some home videos and its better tha dvd quality. I am yet to find a better one for the price.

This is the little brother of the Vision Pro, so the features are pretty close (save for the image).
First off, the quality of the webcam part is brilliant. The image is superb, and the sound is clear even when you are not close to the microphone.
Now, for a word of warning. The webcam, like some others in the QuickCam series, has a LONG tail, which is mostly avoided in all product pictures. It's not a cute little stand, but a serious, heavy tail (close to 6 inches long, and heavier than the webcam itself). Because of that, at the cost of ergonomics, it works well in stabilizing the webcam whereever you decide to place it; if you are not familiar with the design however, you're in for a surprise.
Another thing to point out about the hardware is that, unlike older models, this one does not have a physical lid to cover the lens. That gives room to the accidental poke in the lens, and lowers your protection in case somebody manages to take control over your computer (a light does come on when the webcam is active, so at least you'll know when you're monitored, heh).
Software-wise, the webcam uses a lot of resources (compared to, say, a cheap built-in webcam from a laptop), so make sure you use it on a computer powerful enough to handle the load. The accompanying software, though well intended, seems to be a bit on the sensitive/finicky side.
Altogether, a great webcam in a not-so-great package.
