Skyped to Iraq and back great

I set one of these up for my mom this morning so she could talk too and see my brother in Iraq using Skype. After a few tweaks on the Windows7 sound settings it worked great. I was amazed at the video and sound quality. I just might purchase one for myself. I'm hard to please. Been doing IT work for 25 years. Very Nice product CUDOS

2nd log.orbit,1st one lost in break ln!

1st 1 was really gd loved every aspect.2nd was not so gd./was terable 2 be truthfull! 1st was/w/vista gd.2nd/win7 baaaad nothing seamed 2 wrk,no face tracking,no right light or sound well you get it! sorry logitec i have a few log. prod.most are good! a1.but not this1.

This webcam really looks nice, the stand is usefull. The quality of the picture isn't the best, but is good enough for Skype.
It's supposed to be motorized, it worked for the first 5 min and it partially stop working to eventually stop completly.

GREATEST WEBCAM EVER!!!

Just bought this webcam a couple of days ago and am totally delighted with the quality, features and usability of this machine. You can manually or automatically zoom, pan and tilt from the computer and the Zeiss optics make for a sharp, detailed image. I highly recommend this webcam to anyone who is looking for a high-end solution to your webcam needs. Just a heads up DON'T UPGRADE THE SOFTWARE TO THE NEW VERSION ONLINE - it isn't as versatile as the original.

I have owned the Orbit for over a year and used it over several hundred hours of face to face interviewing. I can attest that this is a great camera that does what it is advertised to do. I have noted that when it follows a face, at times it doesn't want to follow back when the person moves. Overall, I can say that I have certainly put this little camera through the test. I dropped it several times and it is still going strong. The surveillance feature works great. No one will sneak in your office without being detected!

At first this cam was great. But after a couple months the motor that turns the cam left and right busted. Then the only way it would turn was for me to physically turn it. The features it had were great but as soon as the motor broke it wasn't any better than a $20 cam.

Great purchace... If you own windows Vista

You heard me! When i had this connected to my vista computer, i was veryhappy, and this was the best webcam purchace ever.I used it a lot. But now, i have windows 7 and i am very dissapointed with the software. The good software is incompatible with 7, so i was forced to download this difficult, gereric-looking product off of the logitech website. I couldn't change the quality lever to high definition, as i did in vista. In vista, the quality was exceptional, now in 7, it is despicable! I could reconise myself, but i looked very sloppy. The bottom line is don't buy a logitech product if you have windows 7 until this is fixed.

Top-notch webcam

I never thought I would spend this much on a webcam, but I did and do not regret it. Top notch video and audio quality. And during the day it performs as my security camera, thanks to the tracking. Also love the adjustable "neck".

Great Webcam!

This is my fourth webcam since moving from America to France a few years ago. It is exactly the first I will recommend to friends & family.
The motion detection software does not send the video/photos to a remote location (email/FTP), so if someone steals your computer forget about using this as motion detection. However, it will work to spy on a babysitter or teenagers.

I got this as a gift from my dad's girlfriend. It's a great product. The quality differs from computer to computer, but it's easy to operate and it's a really great buy. I'd recommend it to a friend.

Awesome camera

Excellent purchase, I am very satisfied with this product. Even though the System Requirements say Windows, it works very well under linux, and even has pan/tilt/zoom controls!
I would recommend this product to anyone looking for their next wecam, it's awesome!

i had this cam for about a year ran great then all of a sudden it just starts crashing and i have to unplug and plug it back in to get it to run again for another 10 seconds till it crashes and just keeps repeting it over and over

I was looking to see and hear, my contacts, But when I could , install it SO easy, not only do I hear how great they can see and hear me. I tried both, the vidio calling and voice calling ,exellent all the way around, very good and made easy to understand instuctions, It seams like it dose everything ,except talk and hear for you. I am very happy and STONGLY RECOMMEND IT. I receaved everything , I needed and more.

I got this Web cam as replacement for my older one. My expectations were fulfilled and more. I would call it the best Cam on the whole wide Market, every cent is well invested.
All the features work great, the quality is extra ordinary, and the motorized cam-head is unique . I love it and will highly recommend this to all web cam users.
Even in my dimmed Living room light, the picture is a good quality.
My new cam is running on my PC with Windows 7. The installation process was easy, install the software from Logitech, connect the cam and like the Installation process tells you, the driver will be installed, then reconnect the cam again and then the cam will be recognized.
A Restart was NOT needed.
Only Point: In good lighting the face tracking is good, but in dimmed Light conditions it is delayed.
All the features work great, the quality is extra ordinary, and the motorized cam-head is unique . I love it and will highly recommend this to all web cam users.

I went from the Logitech Quickcam Communicate Deluxe to the Orbit AF and it was a huge difference, the only reason i gave the overall rating a 4 of 5, is because both webcams I could not focus in the distance of about 4 ft away. I do not sit in front of a monitor, I have a Sony 40" hdtv and I use that for a monitor and the webcam will not sit on my computer by the tv and get good quality, does a great job at the close in focusing even within an inch distance. Since the 4 foot distance does not focus well I have to put it on my table in front of me which is silly looking but works ok for now.

How wonderful it is to find that you have a great piece of hardware that performs so well... and that you have installed (unkowingly) software that 'phones home'. I know that many products do this... and I can understand the desire by companies to incorporate this simple feature into their product....
BUT COME ON GUYS!
Give us some notice that you are going to redirect us to the internet at certain times to "TAKE SURVEYS"... or check an internet server for updates.
Let us turn this off... or better yet... require us to turn these options ON if we want them.
I cannot begin to explain now irritating it is to have no control over the software activities that are installed on your own computer. We end up having to install FIREWALLS to keep our systems from trying to make un-announced connections to the internet.
Just very, very frustrated!
