Great webcam but not with windows 7, UNUSABLE. I did like the cam with Vista. Started to work with Windows 7 then Crashed the computer. Now I get a msg that the driver is not usable and will not load. $123.00 down the drain.

I needed a webcam to make web recordings in the relatively low light conditions of my office. The Orbit AF works very well in this application. I tried using my Sony video camera because of the added versatility of different shot angles, but the video camera did not even come close to the low light performance of the Orbit AF.
The extension bar puts the camera at the right height for most shots. The portable nature of the camera lets you put it right in front of you for the best eye contact with the camera or side shots. I have a lot more versatility in the kind of shots I can take with a portable web cam versus those that mount on monitor.
Audio: I have a separate mike and mixing board for audio, which is only slightly better than the audio I get using the built in mike in the Orbit. The Orbit AF audio is good enough to use with my Dragon dictating software.
Problems are more with the software than the camera. The follow-me feature works pretty well, but occasionally gets lost. I have had issues when using the Orbit with Skype mainly just getting the camera to turn on, but those are more Skype issues than Orbit issues.
What it doesn't have that I would like is mounting hole on the base for use with a small tripod. If I had to buy another web camera the Orbit AF would be at the top of my list.

With the Orbit/Sphere works great with XP or Vista but is a failure with Win7. As a professional Validation Engineer I expected more from their software lab. Even MS says there is issues with this software and Win7 yet Logitech put a product out there that doesn't work yet they tell you that you the CUSTOMER has the problem. I think it is time to move to another vendor.

Bad "follow me" and the camera won't respond to the software's commands to pan/tilt. Meaning integration is not what they claim it to be. For the $130 I spent I could have had more fun buying something else, and accomplished more I think.

This web cam is the best I have tried. The only problem that I have with it, is the "Stem" on the stand is too high. We find ourselves having to sit up to straight in the chair. The stem could be 2" lower and would make it more comfortable (and I am a tall woman, 5'9").

This is the sixth webcam that I have owned. It is the best webcam currently available. (as of 8.18.09) The picture and video quality is extraordinary for a web camera. The quality of the video or pictures produced is exceptional and the extra effects are awesome. My only suggestion to the manufacturer of the product would be to suggest that they improve upon the design of the tracking of the camera. It has a difficult time following or tracking. It is rather choppy. The camera also needs even or balanced lighting to be able for this to function at all.

No, its not perfect, but the best cam I have ever purchased and I had several cams. The tracking feature needs some help but its cute and makes the cam seem to come alive. Other than that, its the best picture and smoothest movements ever seen for such a product and price ! I am so impressed I just bought one for my daughter and husband, I wish my friends bought one too, so they could come out of the blackness and the blur !!!

i love using my cam it is so easy. the face following feature could use a little work. some times i have to move out of the shot for it to realize i moved, but i didn't expect too much from such a new ability. other than that it is great. i cam with it all the time, it rarely ever lags, and i love how clear the picture is. i also love the little wacky things i can do with it. like give my self a crown, lol

The picture quality is excellent even under just a 15 watts candescent desktop light. It gets even better if taken under a fluorescent lamp. This unit is packed with a bunch of good features for its price. It's equipped with auto focus lens, a true 2-megapixel optical, up to 8 megapixel photos, 960 x 720 pixels, 24-bit true color video capture, and the so-called RightLight 2 Technology which intelligently adjusts the amount of light so you always get a clear and sharp image. On top of all of these, it comes also with a motorized motion tracking feature, which will follow you as you move about during your video conversation. There are multiple image sizes that you can select -- 320x240, 640x480, 960x720, 1.3MP, 3MP, and 4MP. Note: the face tracking feature only works on the lowest picture size due to the limitations of the USB's capability. You can take a snapshot or record a short video. I only have it for a week, but its performance so far is great. It's very easy to use. If you use Skype, it'll be automatically detected and ready to use in a snap. The only thing that I don't like is the fact that the extension stem is fixed at 9" long. If you need the lens to be somewhere a bit lower than its maximum height, you have to leave it in its default height (without using the stem) and putting it atop of a book stack or box or something. If you want it to be a bit higher, in additional to using the stem, you have to put it still on top of something to get to your desired height. They could have made the stem a bit more adjustable by breaking it into more short and long pieces, and instead of connecting the base to the lens housing via the stem, do it via a small coiled extension cord or something.

Been using the Orbit AF for 3 months on an almost daily basis with Skype. The picture is the best of any web cam I've used, degrading only when there's a bandwidth issue. The mic is great; the other party can always hear me clearly. The software interface is very easy to use and has all the features you'd want, and then some.
My only issues with the camera are that the Automatic RightLight feature turns itself off unpredictably and the auto focus sometimes gets stuck and won't track my face. Instead it will track whatever is brightest in the frame. Both of these annoyances are software issues that will hopefully be corrected in a not-too-distant update.
I highly recommend the Orbit AF.

I have not been happy with this cam. For the price I thought it would be much better than it is. The picture is great when it comes on so that you can see it. About 3/4 of the times that I turn it on it will be totally black. I have to close it out and re-open sometimes several times before the lighting will be right. I have tried both auto and manual adjustments and it doesn't make a difference. A real disapointment as far as I'm concerned.

Pros:
-You dont have to manually adjust the camera you can use the settings on the computer to adjust with clicking or put on auto track.
- I recently had another brand of webcam that was 1.3 mp and cost $79 and I upgraded to this. The best money I EVER spent on a webcam! The picture quality is OUTSTANDING!!! It is crystal clear and not having to do manually adjust the focus makes it very user friendly. You can set it so it auto adjusts or you can manually adjust if you like. LOTS OF OPTIONS!
- and many more to list
The cons:
- only had it for a day, but no cons for me so far!
Overall this is a great product! If your serious about getting a great webcam don't get anything below 2 mega pixels. If you move around your room a lot like I do or want a webcam to be able to do lots of moving then get this. If you stay in one spot go for the quickcam pro 9000. Either product you choose they wont let you down

Loads in quickly without hassel
no complex intructions, just plug it in..
Exceeds expectation in performance
I'd buy it again without hesitation.
I'm taller than average when sitting so a longer than 9 inch orbit extension would improve eye level contact...another 6 to 8 inches would work.
Support information and additional product lines are well laid out and both easy to manuever through and helpfull
