The keyboard has a very sleek design to it. I like to keep my keyboards flat, and this keyboard sits perfectly flat which I like. Height of the keyboard off the desk surface is also perfect for me. The keyboard layout is the standard QWERTY layout, which is also good. Keyboards that deviate from the starndard layout are just a pain to get used to.
The feel of the keys is very nice, and they have a nice response when pressed. I was at a store where I could try out several popular gaming keyboards, and this keyboard had the best feel to the keys. Other gaming keyboards either had keys that were too soft, or keys that seemed to have "play" in them when being pressed. I actually prefer a keyboard that actually requires some effort to press a key.
Macro buttons are extremely easy to program and use. I hear some people complaining that there's only 6 G keys available per memory bank setting, but I can't seem to think of uses for even 6 right now, so it's fine for me.
The backlighting of the keys is very effective, with a good brightness level. The brightness level doesn't have to burn out your retinas in order to work in a dark room. It was also ga good call on Logitech's part to use amber lighting...amber and red lighting are used to illuminate dark areas where it's critical that your eyes stay adjusted to seeing in the dark.
LCD is a nice touch, and quite frankly, I'm glad it doesn't tilt like the 1st gen G15, as that's just another contact point to eventually wear out. The LCD screen is very visible from a very wide viewing angle. I'm learning that there's a large amount of support for add-on applications for the LCD as well, and I'm looking forward to trying some of them out.
The only thing I would really change about this keyboard? Give it bigger rubber feet and more WEIGHT. I have my G15 kind of wedged against some stuff on my desk to it can't get away from me, but I just feel that a good gaming keyboard should be weighted.
