I used to work at the Apple store, so I got to listen to an alarming number of iPod/MP3 Player docks and the only one that beat the pure-fi is the Bose Sound dock which costs more than double this product when you add the rechargeable battery.
The Pure-Fi is pretty amazing. I've owned two over 4 years, dragged it across 10 countries and frequently "throw" it down on rocks outside while rock climbing. Stands up to just about everything. The battery still runs strong. I had the previous iteration to this product and the battery conked out (went down to like 60% capacity), but logitech was happy to replace the product very easily and without hassle.
It's also really nice to have a system that can accept an aux-in so you're not limited to ipods.
The old model that I had did have a problem where if the volume on the ipod was too low it would stop playing..but that problem was easily solved.
Seriously, this product is hard to beat.

I bought this as a display unit from Circuit City when they were liquidating their stores. I've had it since Feb 09 and have used almost every morning while in the shower since then. The battery life is amazing and the sound is nice and loud. I do listen to a lot of podcasts on it, and while in the shower, I do have to turn it to max volume to hear spoken word over the water, but music is fine at a lower volume. The remote works well and is convenient during a party.
I've seen a lot of poor reviews on here complain about the quality of this product. Either, I've gotten extremely lucky or they are just an outspoken minority. I have had zero issues with this unit, and very little with Logitech in general. I've been buying their products for years because of their great features and awesome quality and customer service.
Also, I've used this product with an 80GB iPod Classic, 8GB iPod Touch 2G, and a 4GB iPod Nano 2G, and other sources via the 3.5mm auxillary input with no problems at all.

Sounds pretty good when it works. But mine seems to have a similar problem to many others. Began cutting out for no reason after about two weeks, and battery wouldn't hold a charge for more than a few minutes. Now it won't even work when plugged in. Worst electronic device I've bougt in several years. Will not buy from Logitech again.

The power cuts out after about 3 minutes even when it is plugged in. I simply don't understand. I bought this abroad and no longer have the receipt. Very frustrating.
