Great Mouse w/ Bad Ergonomics

I have been a fan of Logitech products since I started buying them around 9 years ago. I've got the MX510, the MX518, the Cordless Mini Optical mouse, and I've had various others. The V450 is the first Logitech mouse I haven't liked, and it's because of the ergonomics. They just don't work for me. The little bump on the left (or right) toward the back of the mouse ends up being exactly where I want to put my thumb, and it causes an awkward grip on the mouse. This forces me to put my thumb forward where the actual dent is for the thumb. This wouldn't be a problem except the batteries weigh enough that the mouse wants to pivot in my hand each time I pick it up with my thumb that far forward. The back of the mouse wants to rotate down, so I have to hold the mouse tighter than normal when picking it up between strokes. I upgraded to the V450 because I am very satisfied with my Cordless Mini Optical mouse, but I would honestly rather use the Mini over the V450 because of the ergonomics. The Cordless Mini Optical also weighs noticeably less because it only uses 1 AA battery. On the plus side, the nano receiver is phenomenally small, and the laser tracking is flawless. The buttons click perfectly, too. The V450 mouse has great build quality, but I would not recommend it because of the ergonomics.

It's easy to transport as it is so light and compact.
It's battery life is awesome, I use it every day constantly, and batteries still going strong 8 months later.
The nano receiver is tiny and so there is no risk of knocking it like some of the larger sized USB receivers on other mice I have used.
It really looks the part too, and the colour scheme matches my Samsung Q210 perfectly!
Highly, highly recommended !

Easy to use, the small transmitter is great and the battery life far outstrips other wireless mice I have had.

Direct Replacement for Wireless Mighty Mouse

I just bought my third Wireless Mighty Mouse for my Macbook Pro. 3rd one in 2 years. This time I decided that I wasn't even going to open the box. I went out looking for an alternative, and since I own a few other Logitech products I decided to stay loyal. I bought the V450 Nano, and at first I was disappointed that it wasn't bluetooth. I quickly realized that the nano transceiver worked INSTANTLY the second I plugged it in (no install, no drivers, no waiting! (os x). Where as my Mighty Mouse took a second to "wake up" and reconnect. I also had some problems with blue tooth stuttering, or dropping connection (ANNOYING).. The 2.4 ghz wireless so far has been NO problem! I would highly recommend this mouse OVER the Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse, to ANYONE with a mac! I do graphic design, so smooth mousing is a must, and the tilt scroll wheel is nice, it's easier to control than the Apple tiny ball thing (that always get's clogged up with dirt too). WOULD RECOMMEND!

I bought this when I bought a new laptop. I have the V320 and loved it. It's still going, so i put it with my desktop. This mouse however is much nicer as it's colors match my laptop, and i love the nano receiver. Being able to keep it plugged in and just pick my laptop and mouse up and go is wonderful. I also have problems of occasionally hitting the receicver on my old mouse and was afraid of breaking it, so the nano on this one really take away that fear. The response is amazing. And i like how the software tells me how much battery in either days or percentage is left, i keep it on days remaining, and right now it shows 449 days remaining. How accurate can depend on how much you use it of course. but at least you can get an idea of when it's time to replace batteries. If this mouse were to die on me for some stupid reason I would buy a new one. And i have actually recommended it to a couple people already, and will continue.

I bought it for my job's laptop and the nano receiver is the perfect size so I can keep it attached to the laptop and get it in and out of the case without damaging, the laser sensor is far better than the optical, is more precise and accurate and it work on any surface. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH OPTICAL!!!

Recently bought my first laptop so I could work with photo files away from home. Quickly found the onboard "mouse pad" to be VERY unsatisfactory and went looking for a solution. A salesman pointed me to the V450 with the Nano plug-in card. Brought one home. Installed the batteries, Plugged in the card and then went online to download the software. Everything was going great until I tried to type something at which time the onboard "mouse pad" got in the way... again. I found the Disable switch for it and started using the V450 as my sole mouse. I use it sitting on the arm of my recliner and it works GREAT! The only drawback for me is its compact size. My large hand is still accustomed to the Logitech Trackman I've been using for several years - the V450 is pint-sized in comparison. I really like it being cordless and the laser function is very accurate. I've only had it 2 days now but after several hours of using it to edit pix I wouldn't want anything less. It's easy to use, easy to pack/carry and I'd recommend it especially to anyone with a netbook or laptop - or a PC workstation for that matter.
I almost got a slightly larger mouse but it had a Micro card instead of the tiny Nano card and I didn't want to be hassled with plugging/unplugging or getting it broken off.

New to the laptop world i needed a mouse because i do a lot of design on my laptop. I decided to purchase the v450 nano vs micorsoft's. why? 1) i found out the receiver is not a flash drive but a freaking small receiver...you'll get more "what the is that" about your receiver then how much your mouse cost. 2) this thing works really far; for fun you can move your mouse from another room. 3) its quite comfortable in your hands. CONS: 1) its kinda expensive, but lucky me got it on sale..look for this mouse on sale! 2) works on all sorts of surface except glass! 3) you can leave the nano receiver in your usb port and forget it about it. But DONT FORGET TO TURN OFF MOUSE! this in the long run will drain your battery..i tend to forget and i bought this mouse like 4-5 months ago. 5) uses two batteries, not really an issue thought.
overall this mouse i recommend to anyone it works with mac's screen function and i wish this mouse would shut off after an hour of inactive use or something.

This is my first laser mouse for my HP. I dowloaded the software to customize the scroll wheel.....its the best thing in the world!!!! The fact that you can customize the scroll wheel to when you click, it goes into document flip and can see all the windows that are running and any documents that you have open.....I was blown away!!! I purchased this one at Besy Buy and Im going to leave a great review there also!!! Thanks Logitech!!!!

There's no doubt, this is the best and both most beatiful mouse I ever had. I was visiting Stockholm and one of it's greatest mall and there was this computer shop, I bought a laptop there a day after
I wanted to buy a mouse and when I asked the girl there she was workin, I told her I need a mouse, and she said "what kind of mouse", I looked at her and said "the best one you got", and she gave me V450!
At the time I didn't realize that I am using a really good product, that's why I had to write this reaview and I don't write reviews often...

I have had the mouce since Januray. I've never turned it off and the mouse is still working, batteries havent been changed. I use a desktop computer but the mouse is great because it's small , CORDLESS , which is the most important, and is very convinient. I bought one more for my girlfriend, because she uses mainly laptop and she sais that the mouse is absolutely great. I think so too :) I like the mouse because it's laser , very accurate, for me its perfect for drawing programmes. Surfing the net is also very convinient with the programable buttons :) But I would like it's top to be rubber too because when you use it a little bit longer , fingerprints left on the glossy surface.

I had a Microsoft wireless Laser mouse. I don't remember the exact model number. It's smaller and the USB transmitter would fit in the base of the mouse for storage. I didn't like the way the buttons on the mouse felt. It felt "creeky". It wasn't a nice clean click feeling.
The V450 felt good in my hands, not too small. I use a full size corded mouse at my desk and use the V450 with my laptop. The buttons and scroll wheel felt great. Of course, the little Nano receiver is really cool. I just leave it plugged into my laptop all the time. I've had several people comment on the Nano receiver saying that it was a good idea.

This is a great mouse. It is very accurate and the battery last a long time (3-5 months). I would say that the battery cover does get lose, but does not come off. You will not notice it while you are using it. I had a Bluetooth mouse before and the batteries did not last as long. So I would recommended this mouse to anyone looking for a wireless mouse.
