Got this mouse to replace my hp wired notebook mouse that broke after about 4 years of use. I thought that mouse was great untill i got my hands on this bad boy! Did a lot of research before purchasing before finally deciding on the v450 because it was cheaper than the v550. Before buying the v450 my wife found this one at the local sams club for a good deal and i couldn't pass it up. Boy am I glad i got it too! Love everything about it so far! The scroll wheel is great with its selectable click/free scroll and the side to side scrolling. Love the Application Switcher, makes multitasking so much easier! It has great precision control and works well on every surface i've tried so far. Also has long range reception, tried it about 6 feet away just to see.. worked like a charm. The nano receiver is so small you don't have to worry about breaking it like some other larger receivers! The battery life is awesome as well! Haven't made it to 18 months yet, but sounds promising! Also comes with the clip and go dock which attaches to your laptop and holds the mouse...Works great! To make the application switcher and side to side scrolling work, you simply download the easy to use software from their website. It even tells you how many days of battery life you left! Overall, Great product so far! First logitech purchase and I am definitely a satisifed customer!

I purchased this mouse about 3 weeks ago, primarily for use at home with a netbook. (I loved the nano receiver.) On its first trip away from home for a business meeting, it fell out of my laptop sleeve onto the floor and the back popped off. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until I got home. At that point, the back could not be located, and I had an unusable mouse. I'm very disappointed with the design that permitted the back to pop off so easily. I replaced this with another Logitech mouse on which the receiver fits into the body without having to remove the back.

I bought this mouse for the laptop I got in September, so I've been using the mouse for just under a year. I was a bit hesitant about spending more than $25-$35 for a mouse - but it has given me wonderful service and has proven to be money well spent.
I hate using touch pads, so this mouse has been used exclusively. It scrolls through pages effortlessly and responds well on different types of surfaces. The little mouse holder attaches to the laptop cover and securly holds the mouse in place while you're on the go. I can walk with my laptop under one arm and not have to put the mouse in a bag, etc. while going from one site to another.
The mouse has performed flawlessly, and I find it quite comfortable to use. I can't imagine anyone not being happy with this mouse. It may not stand up on two legs and beg for cheese, but this mouse will be there working for you, long after the cheese is gone.

Just got this mouse last week. As with every Logitech device i've owned, it's very well built and performs excellently.
Here's why I wouldn't recommend it. For an extra $10 you can get the VX Nano, which is the best notebook mouse I've ever used. With the VX, you get a better design, more controls, and a case.
I bought the V550 because the color suited my netbook, better, and I wanted to try a different mouse to the VX (i carry 2 laptops for work so wanted 2 mice).
In hindsight, I would have been more satisfied with the VX and would definetly recommend it.
Now where can i buy a case like what comes with the VX?

Great Battery Life, Perfect Feel, Amazing accuracy. I cant think of a better experience a mouse has given me, especially of this size. I definately recommend this to anyone who moves around alot (i'm in the sales field).

This product offers a lot contradiction. Displayed wrapped in plastic, it looks no different than any other mouse out there. But that's where the similiraty ends. The best way to appreciate a Logitech product is to hold it and experience using it.
My first impression is it looked a little large for a mouse, but I found that it fits my hand perfectly. It's shape follows the normal countours of my hand.
Its a bit heavy when you lift it, but surprisingly light when you move it around, gliding easily on most surfaces. Laser tracking is very responsive and dead on. I found that I only need around 3.5 sq. in. of space to move the pointer all around the screen. Simply perfect for tight spaces.
I particulary love what Logitech did with the click wheel. In normal mode, it spins like other wheels, with that familiar tactile feedback. Click it and goes into turbo mode. Magically, the resistance is gone and the wheel spins freely. Great time saver for browsing long documents and spreadsheets. This feature alone made this mouse worth its asking price. It's simply a fantastic time saver. In my opinion, this is the most useful innovation I've seen in quite a while.
There are also lots of thoughtful little goodies too. Logitech includes two extra docking clips, a removal tool, and a couple of alcohol pads for cleaning the area where you'd want to apply the clips. All packed in a small tin container, a very nice touch that rounds out the whole package. Oh, there's also a USB extension cable.
I must admit that I had second thoughts about buying this device because of the price. But after seeing the package contents and noting the excellent build quality, I'd say it's worth every penny. The mouse feels solid, no cheap plastics here. Sure, there are thousands of cheaper mouse out there but its hopeless to compare. Let me put it this way, a compact car will get you from point A to point B, but a BMW will always drive better.
By the way, unlike other toys, batteries are included. For how long they will last? That still remains to be seen.

I implement electronic medical software and travel often. I bought my first nano 3 weeks and it is so convenient for airport layovers. I also recommend it to medical providers to use with their laptops.
I just bought my second one today for use with my personal laptop. Love the clip and go and the usb connector is small enough to keep it connected and still slide into the laptop sleeve.

It really is an all-around great mouse. The dock that you can attach the mouse to is a great feature that I found myself using a lot. While it is a little on the heavy side for a "laptop mouse" it feels great in your hand.
My only complain is that the mouse is allowed to swivel on the notch that docks it onto your laptop. eventually, the mouse left a scratch in the shape of a circle around the dock on the top of my laptop. I have a cheap Toshiba computer with a soft plastic top, so maybe it wouldn't do that same to your laptop. That being said, I would still buy the mouse again and continue to dock it onto my laptop because it make moving around so much more convenient.

I use this mouse with my laptop. I very much like the Nano transmitter which you never have to take out. The battery life is excellent, and with the Setpoint software (download from Logitech) it's very easy to monitor battery life and conifgure the mouse exactly the way you want it. All in all, a well-designed, high quality, user-friendly product

Just got the mouse for my birthday, love it so far. The only functions it should have that it doesnt are "back" and "forward" buttons for page jumping for web browser...it still functions amazingly smooth and scroll function is fun and weightless, horizontal scrolling is a good feature too.
Now we just need a bluetooth mouse just like this that wont take up 1 of the 2 usb ports on my macbook

I just got this mouse. I am telling you its great. Comes with two docking units ...could be more one more stick on ...or at least able to buy more...LOL...Just lazy I guess....works great on any surface. I would hihly recommend this unit.

The V550 has a download program that allows mouse to scroll L/R. The button below the wheel is multi-functional. I have a 13 inch notebook, I can magnify the page to read any size of print. Super fast scrolling Nice size of travel.
