Never stop making this trackball!!!

Date:June 10, 2013
This is the best pointing device on the market hands down. However it needs a scroll wheel! I don't care where you put it, just put it on there. Been using these since they originally came out on the market, before the Fwd / Back buttons where there, I never use them for browsing anyway.

Trackman® Marble® The Best Mouse Ever

Date:May 29, 2013
If you are into Gaming like I am, then you want a mouse that is responsive to your touch and does not require a lot of movement by you hand. Normal Mice you have to push and pull and maneuver around and keep an area clear for the mouse.
When I discovered this marvelous device back around 2001-2002 I instantly fell in love with it. While it lacks any proper 3rd mouse button (which I would place below the Trackball and ½" in front of the normal buttons) is still the best mouse I have ever used. You can be used right or left handed and it requires very little space to use. I am on my 3rd Replacement over 10 years of using this model. I hope the improve it with a 3rd Button someday but I still enjoy it.
Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes. In fact a number of my friends now use this mouse because they have limited space and like that the cleaning maintenance on this is simple.
1) Remove the Trackball from the Cradle.
2) Use a Clean Rag or Towel to remove the Hand Oil Build Up and/or Dirt on the hard-points in the Cradle.
3) Clean Marble Ball with Dry Rag or Towel (or your T-shirt)
4) Click Marble Ball back into the Cradle.
Now you are ready to use your Trackman® Marble® I hope you enjoy using this product as much as I do.
Trust in Logitech to Enhance your Computer Experience.

OK, I guess

Date:May 1, 2013
THE GOOD:
* It's wired, not wireless. Wired rodents are more reliable.
* The ball is acceptably large and reasonably precise.
* The buttons are responsive... so far
* The ball is finger-operated. Thumb-balls are hard to control.
* Very affordable.
THE BAD:
* No scrollwheel. What were they thinking?
* The ambidextrous design makes it equally awkward for all to use.
* Mediocre build quality.
I bought this trackball because Logitech discontinued the Cordless Optical Trackman, an excellent rodent aside from its mediocre wireless connectivitity. The Trackman Marble is a real step down from the C.O.T. in almost every way. It will just have to satisfy my trackball needs until something better comes along.

Could never go back!

Date:April 7, 2013
I got a Trackman Marble for work because a I began to develop a repetitive motion injury from using a standard mouse. Originally I tried another product with a similar design but found the action buttons required some real force to "click" creating a problem as well. I switched to Logitech and I'd now never go back to standard mouse again. The trackball works smoothly.
The buttons require only a light touch. I introduced my husband to these products and now he uses them as well and like me hates having to use an old-fashioned mouse. Best product ever. I like other reviewers worry that you'll stop making these great "mice". Please keep this product in your line!

Versatility

Date:March 30, 2013
I had a nerve cut in my elbow area in 1965. A mouse is difficult to use because the nerve endings on the outer part of my right hand limits certain functionality with the outer two fingers. The trackball allows me the versatility I would not have otherwise.

Best mouse ever?!

Date:March 14, 2013
My wife and I have been using the Trackman for around 10 years at the office and home. The ONLY improvement we would like to see is making a wireless version compatible with the unifying receiver. Couple that with a wave keyboard - wow.

Trackman Marble Ease

Date:March 6, 2013
I use my computer constantly in business. I just bought my second trackman marble, I wore the first one out. My husband has one on his computer also. My biggest concern, they'll discontinue this model. I am addicted to not constantly moving my hands.

I have this at my workstation in the office...

Date:February 21, 2013
I really like it. It took some getting used to as I had a regular scroll-two button mouse before. I had a cyst on the inside of my right wrist below my thumb and switched to this mouse and the cyst has gone down considerably now that I don't have as much wrist movement. I've used this one for about two years now and I like it. Although I'm a righty... it's great as you can use this if you are a lefty too.

Great for small spaces

Date:February 4, 2013
I use the trackball because I don't have enough space for a conventional mouse.
This trackball is very easy to use, left or right handed.
I've owned it for over 5 years and used it at work for the first 2.
It's also a great way to add some fun to playing Halo

A really wonderful mouse

Date:January 27, 2013
I use this with my left hand. I love that there is always space on my desk for it because it doesn't move around. I love that it is so silky smooth and precise (remove ball every week or month and clean contacts). I love being able to spin the ball and move really quickly. I love never reaching for the mouse and not getting repetitive stress problems. Really is a great mouse and Logitech should keep making it forever.

It's a nice trackball but I start having problem with the left key button. It's not a solid construction and after 2 years the button switch part inside started to loose. :(

Amazing....but

Date:January 16, 2013
Ok I have been using this mouse and the Marble FX since launch date no joke. And I will tell you that if you love trackballs, you will love this. My only gripe is that they make this like the g600 or a version of it for us gamers that use a trackball. NO other company has ventured into this, so they would make a killing off of it. The button presses are smooth, very convenient places and just an all around A+ mouse!

Long Lasting and the Best

Date:January 15, 2013
I am still using the same mouse after ten, probably more, years. Sure, I did lose my first ball, so I went and bought another for just the ball and kept the mouse. Logitech seemed to of changed the design a bit and make taking the ball out a tad harder. I have used this mouse so long that the Logitech logo had worn off. It will last you for a very long time.

Simple really is better.

Date:December 21, 2012
I have been using one for the past 10 years or so, and I just love it. I use it with my laptop, and whether I am on the couch, floor, or seated on the lawn, it works flawlessly. Try to get a mouse to work on such a variety of surfaces. There was a learning curve in the beginning. I wanted to move my arm and hand all over the place but I soon became accustomed to just moving my fingers. The Trackman is very precise and responsive, and it has 4 programmable buttons for easy customization. There was a definite improvement in my gaming abilities (and scores) after a little practice. Several friends and family members have converted to Trackman users after using mine a few short times. There is only one flaw in its design, it is corded. I know there are cordless trackballs to be found out there but none have its simple and ergonomic design. Its elongated shape provides a built in palm rest to center your hand and reduce fatigue. And the ball itself is large and centered allowing you to use your fingers for precise or sweeping motion. I have found the smaller, thumb trackballs, much less comfortable to use. Left or right handed, it makes no difference. And this thing is a workhorse. Mine has thousands of hours of use, been dropped more times than I care to remember, and it just keeps working. Cleaning is a breeze also. Simply remove the ball and brush the dust away and you are good to go. If you are looking for an easy to use and reliable trackball, you can’t go wrong with the Trackman Marble Mouse. Now… if they would just make it cordless…

2nd time is a charm!

Date:November 26, 2012
Tried my 1st trackball several years ago. Not gonna lie, there is a learning curve with this mouse. Once you take some time though, it really pays off! Less gripping/holding (like none) means it is easier on your hand/fingers. Speed is the 2nd best thing about it...allows you to do quicker work! That can save me time on a mouse. WIN-WIN. I even travel with it!
Note: I bought a 1st one that lasted ~year. It got all hyper sensitive, but required too much ball action for not much return. The 2nd one has been great and has lasted twice as long so far.
FWI: Might want to store the trackball outside of the mouse when not in use. I think it seems to help with the sensitivity & life of the unit. YMMV. :)

The Best Mouse I Ever Owned !!!

Date:November 10, 2012
I have used several types of regular mice over my life, both home and office. I was looking for a Trackball mouse when a freind/ co-worker said he had a "Trackman Marble" mouse at home and he really loved it. He said he got another for his birthday, but never used it because his original worked so well, and has been for years. He offered to give it to me, and I insisted on b uying it from him. I bought it and was oh so glad I did. I tried Thumb Trackball mice before and they don't work for me. I LOVE this Trackman Marble mouse and I think others will Too.
Please. Don't ever stop making this model. Its the best you make. You could even offer a wireless version. (If you do I haven't seen it.) I will continue to buy just this model from now on, so please keep making it....
I recomend it to anyone with arthritis in their thumbs !!!

Love it

Date:October 22, 2012
Fantastic product. I've used it for about a dozen years, maybe a little more. I do notice the heel of my hand getting a bit raw if I spend the entire day working, so the ergonomics aren't perfect, but they're so much better than on any other pointing device I've ever tried. Been using computers since 1986 and this has been the only pointing device for me since the late 90s.
There are only 2 things I'd change to make this absolutely perfect- 1) give it a little scroll wheel, preferably low-profile and right behind the ball. I don't like scroll wheels as a rule, but some games/programs assume everyone has one and won't let you map the controls differently. 2) make a bluetooth version with that fancy new unifying receiver thing you have.
Make those two changes and this would be perfect. Not a thumball version, or a modified version with extra buttons and and an assymetrical layout- exactly this trackball but with a small scroll wheel and the unifying receiver.

Love this mouse

Date:October 6, 2012
I have had this ame Trackman Marble since 1998. It has been threw several drops and puppies taking off with the marble ball when I didn't hide it lol. I have had it on job sites where it got sheet rock dust and other contaminates on it. Would just simply blow it out with canned air and away we went. After all the abuse the rolling of the ball is a little rough but it still works fine. Will buy another when this one finally dies. Love this thing.
