PROS
I have had this mouse for a couple of months now. The mouse is easy to use and setup. The ball rolls very smoothly and the mouse has such a compact design that it can fit in places where mice or other brand trackballs cannot fit. This is a decent mouse but it's not the best thing out there.
CONS
The main thing I don't like about this is that you cannot scroll windows up and down. There is no scroll wheel so you have to move the pointer to the scroll bar every time you want to move the window or use the arrow keys. The other thing I don't like is the buttons used to navigate browser windows back and forward are not conveniently located. You have to actually lift your hand off the mouse to click these buttons. My feeling is that if a mouse is properly designed, you shouldn't have to lift your hand off the device.

I've been using this type of "mouse" for 9 years and I currently use it for First Person Shooting games. I can't use regular mice anymore. The additional 2 smaller button was an improvement. I suggest creating a gaming Marble which uses a laser instead of optical along with a DPI switch, a micro scroll wheel or split the large thumb buttons in half so there would be a front and back left/right click.
GREAT PRODUCT...don't let it die or I can't game anymore!

This is the best way to control computer. Once you get use to using it you will wonder how you ever lived without a trackball.
I also wish they would come out with a wireless version but even without a wireless version this is the best trackball and way to control your computer.
I love this, logitech got it right with this one.

Trackball Prevents Shoulder Ailments

I'm a heavy mouse user. This is the best device ever. There really are no trackball options on the market. Fortunately, Marble Mouse is excellent. Index finger control is simple and intuitive, with minimal physical movement. The ball weight and movement is just right. Using a mouse all day will make my shoulder sore. Marble Mouse is a Godsend.
Please never discontinue this product! I see that it's no longer available in Staples or Best Buy stores. That is a shame. So I'm ordering a bunch online now so that I have a stock of them.

I like this this mouse. You see, im disabled, cant use my hands properly and because of that i cant use normal mouses. So i stick with trackballs. I must say, i bought this one just because it was the best availible, but now it turns out its not bad, actually. I got a Marble FX on another pc, and i must say it is by far the better mouse. The FX is the best mouse ive had.
But one question Logitech, why arent you making keyboards with tracksticks? I think, it is even friendlier to handicapped folks than trackballs, and its superior to the mouse on many occasions, for example in gaming or basically anywhere, where speed is relevant (and that not only for the handicapped ones).

This unit is great, I've used it extensively for three years with XP. However, now my new laptop with Vista doesn't support the button functionality. So, the unit is no better than a stock mouse. Chuck it in the trash. Thanks Logitech and Microsoft.

I just sent this to support, hopefully it gets passed on:
Thank you so very much! I want to let Logitech know that I have been using the Marble Mouse USB M/N Y-BC21 for literally years - Date of Manufacture: 2002.04.01 , and have never had a problem! I have arthritis and a standard mouse is difficult for me to use - I LOVE MY MOUSE. I work at my computer at least 8 hours a day. I take it with me whenever I have to use a different computer. THANKS SO VERY MUCH! ! !

I bought my track ball in 1996 (it is ivory) and I am still using it! It still works perfectly!!!
I needed to combat the effects of carpal tunnel which I was getting from working at my work computer for 12 hours a day.
This Logitech Trackball saved my hand (and my job).
I hate using a mouse of any kind, wireless or whatever.
I am a woman and have a small hand. Other trackballs with a "marble" were and are just too big. This fits my hand perfectly.
I tell everyone of my friends to get one.

I would never, EVER, use any other mouse. The two we have at home have held up for years. I have carpal tunnel syndrome, and with this mouse my hand never has a problem and I can keep it resting on the mouse virtually all day. It also beats sliding a "standard" mouse all over a pad and the desk. These stay in one neat little spot.

I love this mouse. I've had this mouse for about 8 years and I can't adapt back to a standered mouse. I wish you would make one wireless for a laptop or notebook. I recently bought a notebook and I would like a simular mouse for it. Thanks jawbas

I have been using trackballs for 30 years and this trackball has the scroll feature too. Just press the smaller right button, the one on top of the large right button, that starts the scroll function.
As soon as you press the smaller right button the arrow is replaced by a 4 point star. Then the ball scrolls up and down on any page with a visible scroll bar. Enjoy!

Over a 10 year span I've bought 3 of these I think. I really can;t stand regular mice after having this one. My only gomplain is it needs a scroll/middle button. Also I don't see why they have not made this into a wireless version yet!?

Arthritis? Nerve Damage? BUY THIS MOUSE!

I have used this mouse for 7 years now and LOVE IT! I am a professional photographer and have arthritis in my right thumb from adjusting my tripod for over thirty years. I also have nerve damage in my upper right arm from manipulating photos on the computer since computers were invented. I bought this mouse to alleviate the pain and know what? IT DOES! Even after 6 to 7 hours of computer work my upper right arm has no pain and my thumb has no pain either. I just bought a second computer which came with a regular mouse. After only four hours on this computer/regular mouse my upper right arm started hurting again and so did my thumb. This is why I am on this web site...to BUY TWO NEW Logitech balltrack mouses (mice?). One to use on my new computer and one spare.

I bought this when I had to replace my wireless trackball logitech mouse. for some reason I couldn't find the wireless trackball in store. I like that it's still basically the same as the wireless but I miss the scroll wheel, and the wheel isn't as smooth. the back and forward buttons are nice but really... I'd rather have a scroll wheel. I've decided to donate this one and go back to the wireless trackball. But wouldn't it be great if Logitech could take all the great features each mouse has and make one super functional super loveable mouse?? I'm just saying...
