First Time user of a Logitech Rmote

After recieving multible remotes with my equipment, I decided to get a single unit that would control everything. I selected the Harmony 1100 for controlling my 52" Sony, Home theater{sony}, Blu-ray {sony}, DVR cable box{Motorola}. I also use the television as a monitor for my computer, so I added this command to the harmony also.It was a breeze to setup and was exactly what i needed to replace all the other remotes. I will be also setting it up for another television and cable box ,in the bedroom,so that it will act as a spare in case that remote goes bad.
Best Remote on the market.

I can't figure out why people reviewing this product have problems. I've had mine for two years without any! It does what it says and more. Everyone that comes to the house has or wants one. And the people who complain that you have to update it and have internet access,,, who doesn't have access to the internet????

I have had and used this remote for three years now H 1000 I found it extremely easy to set up just make sure you read the instructions onlin all 500 pages. I have used it with all types of equipment with advanced features and find the operations easy. It is a little slow at times but what would you expect I also like the fact that you have to upgrade it about every three months it keeps the platform current and refreshes the device lists and firmware. Biggest thing to remember when buying an advanced remote that preforms advaned features! You must have an advanced knowledge of computer skill sets other wise stay with multiple remotes.

I am a custom installer i use to install many Harmony remotes. from the 880 to the 1000. They all work fine for about a year and then the buttons fall off and the rf starts to have problems. BUT most of the items he mentioned are from his lack of knowing how to use the remote. you can definitely use the harmony to switch video through your receiver. all the blu-rays are listed under dvd and you just need t have the manufacture and model number.
I stopped using them also because you have to update the base and the remote and you have to have internet access.
Great for the first year but be ready to be disappointed and to buy a new remote.
