NEVER buy this keyboard if you have kids, not only are the key's easy to pick off, they are also hard to put back , when I was off taking a shower, my kid picked off almost all the keys on this board..... I just purchased this for $70 at best buy.......now I need a new keyboard. Good if you have no kids, bad if you have kids that like to touch everything.

Bought this keyboard back in May 2011. Still no problems with it. Nice and slim, the adjustable backlight dimming is great, easy access controls with the fn key.Hard to get things stuck under the keys like with other keyboards. Great keyboard !

This is the best keyboard I've ever used. It's so slim my wrists don't bother me, the illuminated keys make it easy to see without the lights on, the suspension under the keys feels good, and I can use the programmable keys at the top to control Winamp. Only problem is that when you upgrade the software, it erases all your customization settings... so don't do it unless you have to!!

Please make one wireless for gaming, the exact same. Then add multi- colored lights and its perfect. Even thought the keys are thin they still hold up well for gaming, and are accurate no keyboard lag. Can do average game loss keyboard pounding and it will survive. Illumination is perfect have had it for over a year no letter wear, or leds in letters go out.

I LOVE this back-lit keyboard because I can use it at night, in the darkness of our bedroom, while my husband is sleeping. I use it this way 90% of the time. The keys are very easy to see, the chicklet style is nice and not too loud when struck. Also having 3 levels of brightness comes in handy. Having a keyboard that is backlit and not over $100. is VERY important to me. I have no reason for the extra features of a backlit gaming keyboard, so just a simple, easy keyboard that isn't too loud, and one I can see without any extra lights distracting me or my spouse is all I (we) need. I'm not hard to please, nor do I like to be wasteful. Which is why the one negative is such a huge issue for me. I have only ONE COMPLAINT - the keys. Or to be more specific the TOPS of the keys! It's the way they're designed and also installed. The problem is that they have a way of dislodging themselves. Which really can only happen under certain circumstances. My example is a person sleeping next to you, who if they happen to roll over and even just an arm landing ever so softly on top of the keys, somehow this makes a few keys "pop their tops". Just the top of the key comes off. So it wouldn't seem like putting the tops back on would be a big deal, IF the TOPS would just snap back into place. But No. And there you have it. THE CRAZY PART! Which is the HATE part of this electronic friendship. I feel like there should be an easier way to fix it. That's my only complaint. I have since found out that I'm not the only one who has had "topless" key malfunctions. And so I wish Logitech would help us ALL out here with a user friendly fix-it design, but until then, we just have to keep buying new ones. sigh... I'm going to blindly choose to believe they ARE NOT doing that on purpose! Only because I just LOVE EVERYTHING else about this backlit keyboard. My first keyboard lasted just over a year before the keys were rolled & subsequently popped off. Not to forget the board and ALL the keys still worked, but I was forced into retiring it and buying a second one. And now I'm using my second keyboard full-time, and I plan on keeping a closer eye on those roving arms that flail in the night! All things considered, I'm sticking with this model. Even if the keys don't stick with me!

This is about as nice a keyboard as I have found and the feel is certainly upscale.. The board has enough mass that it does not move around under your hands and the key feel is that of a nice laptop.. I like the chicklet style keys myself (spend a lot of time on laptops as an IT guy) Backlighting is something I have grown used to and this does a nice job of it.. Only thing lacking that I am used to are a few of the predefined function keys (calculator etc) but a little short cut building and that is fixed.. The low profile of the board does help my carpal..

I suffer from Migraines and overhead lighting is a killer. I usually type in the dark, and had actually cut references in the edges of the home keys so I could find my place without annoying lamps in the corners of the room. I saw an illuminated keyboard in TV and recently we had to replace our aging computer, and I told my GUY who was building the Tower to find me a keyboard. He suggested the logitech Illuminated. I liked it so much I emailed pics to a friend who had the same problem, he read the information and ordered one for himself. My ONLY complaint is that the Function keys illuminate the reference images and NOT the F numbers, useless for me since I haven't programmed the darn things. Otherwise, it's perfect. IF ya'll upgrade the next model, illuminate the small F numbers on the front edges of those keys... please! Make an old Marine happy!

This product is perfect. The features, ergonomics, style, and quality of this product is by far the best usb keyboard I have ever used. I love the laser etched backlit keyboard keys. This is one keyboard you wont have to worry about wearing out your keyboard lettering. The keyboards software driver installed without a problem in Windows 7 professional. It is rare that I give a 5 Star rating to any product. Logitech did a great job designing this product. No batteries needed.

I wanted a lighted keyboard. My previous keyboard was a knock-off of the clidky keyboards (M1) that IBM and Microsoft sold early on. Mine faked the click and transmitted the shock of slamming down on a sloppy fitting shaft to a dead stop to make a clack. That was just not on. I felt the keys were going to jam at any time. It was irritating to type.
This keyboard has a gentle spring to the keys that subtlly increases and then goes negative as you deepen the stroke to bottom on a pad. No hard stop, just a definite little pull that actually feels good. You can rest on the positive spring of the keys and not trigger a character, yet with a slight pressure push into a light capture to a solid but subtle detent that tells you a character is typed.
My speed can reach over 100 wpm with this keyboard. My fingers feel like they're floating along. The tiny positive to negative spring is reassuring and accurate. I don't have to look to know I've completed the stroke for the character I wanted--I can feel every letter with satisfaction. I really like to type on this keyboard.
I do NOT like the silly icons on the function keys. I want the F numbers illuminated instead. At night, I have to count the keys to be sure which one I'm going to hit. The icons images are indistinct, unrecognizable, not assigned to anything I'm going to use, and just stupid. I am not a member of the mindless Great Unwashed, and I can understand and remember what a function key does.
The keyboard front edge is a bit sharp, but I have gotten used to it. Having an illuminated keyboard is exactly what I wanted. The touch is an extra effect that makes me want to type on and on.
No coil cord! What a relief not to have such an abortion in design as a tangling, useless, yanking coil cord. This keyboard has a non sticky, easily positioned, very thin cable. Again, elegance in design. Get this keyboard. You will like it.

I sought out a keyboard that was illuminated so I could work at night without having to disturb anyone by having to light up a room. I researched as much as possible finding the keyboard that met my needs and this one did it. I found the price reasonable for what it's worth to me. I've had it for over 2 years and it has been flawless. Before my computer on site warranty ran out I had the system overhauled, and needed to download the drivers, thinking it would be quicker, and it was. Online support was spot on.

First I'm not a touch typist, two fingers at best, quiet keys feel just fine for me; no click but a definite resistance followed by a low resistance drop to a nicely cushined stop, travel feels on the short side of average.
As for gaming I use the Logitech G13 for my keyboard work.

I have seen several reviews from people claiming to have problems using this keyboard at a fast speed or while using certain key combinations for games... I have personally used this keyboard at over 100wpm and I've never had a single problem where a letter was missing or a key combination did not work, with the exception of using ctrl+alt+del, which I have to deliberately press in some sequence—hitting them all at once usually not work. (Note: this may be the fault of Windows, not the keyboard.)
I don't have a claw grip on my mouse, I don't have short hands, and I usually have long fingernails—the palm rest is too close to the keyboard to be of any use for me, and I end resting my palms between the palm rest and the desk (using both surfaces). I don't mind it much, but if you have long fingers or like to keep your hands flatter, this keyboard is not for you.
I've had this keyboard for two years now, and the lighting is still almost exactly the way it was when I purchased it. The exceptions are The left shift and ctrl keys and the return key, which are dimming.
I love the feel and sound of the keyboard and I'm very comfortable with it for having used it so long. I recommend this to anybody looking to do a lot of typing, any amount of nighttime use, or low to mid-level gaming. High level gamers will want a more expensive keyboard with more sophisticated features and more security in precision and response time.

Although a nice looking keyboard, it appears to be intentionally crippled. A common key combination used in most FPS games (w-shift-spacebar) is specifically disabled. And if you're a fast typist you may stumble occasionally because the keyboard can't handle some other specific key combinations: For instance, type "wine" quickly and the "e" won't appear if your fingers are still resting on "i" and "n".
