I bought this great keyboard for the quietness of operation and styling; I haven't been disappointed a bit. Styling is very important since my computer sits on a desk in the family room. I am very, very pleased with this keyboard and highly recommend it.

Originally I bought this for the illumination feature but I was so impressed with it I bought a second for my laptop dock at work. We keep the area I work in dim so obviously the lighted feature is a plus but it's when you get to typing on it that it really shines (yes, pun intended). The keystrokes are so soft that on first use, I was banging away at it until I got used to the light key pressure needed.
I've never seen a keyboard that was the equal to this. I doubt even an OLED keyboard would be as nice to use. More fun for 2 weeks but then I'd sell it and come back to the Illuminated Keyboard.

I have a mac-book pro, and i LOVE my light up keyboard... i also have a large 24 inch monitor that i connect it to, to turn my 15 inch experience into a 24 inch movie/report writing phenomena!
Honestly, if Apple made a light up keyboard after this logitech came out.... i just MAY not buy it... because logitech found the market for illuminated keyboards... and its not for the "knight writer" who stealthy raps away at a keyboard till daybreak, it just makes the keys easier to see as a whole. even in a bright environment
Also, i keep my computer running 24/7 so having the keypad have a toggle switch for the lighting is GREAT.
and, it doesn't show much light (if any at all) between the keys, all the light is focused at the letters which is completely CLASSY!!!!
I don't think apple could make a keyboard this good.... of course all the apple toggles would work flawlessly, but i tunes and volume up and down/mute all work on this keyboard. (the essentials)
ITS 80$!!! BUY THE DANG THING! YOU WILL BE VERY IMPRESSED!
maybe its about time i buy stock in logitech (logging on to Google finance)

To the comment of JMCarrigan from Newport, OR, I say I had the same problem with the SPACE BAR. the outer edges of the keyboard were not responding so I took it back to the shop and I got a new one which perfectly worked. So I guess it's a manufacturing problem.

The only downside is that it is a corded keyboard. And maybe some of the media and file control buttons can be placed below the main keys like with the Desktop S520 K&M combo? Beyond these minor gripes, this keyboard is the best I've used. The adjustable backlighting on the keys is truly sweet. First class materials. Solid build. Should be bundled with a mouse.

I reviewed this keyboard after getting it from Staples very quickly. I paid $20 more than I had to as it was on sale at Logitech for 59.99 for a few days. BUT Staples got it to me asap.
The only disturbing thing is the SPACE BAR. It took me a while to figure out that the outer edges of the keyboard wasn't sensitive to mythumb. < See?
I bought another one from Staples today just so I could hold on to this one until it arrives. That is a testament to how muchI like it even though....

This has to be the finest keyboard I have ever, ever used in my life. I had longed for a replacement for my tired, worn out 'classic' keyboard and really wanted to move to a notebook style keyboard with quieter, more sensitive keys. I tried quite a few but settled on this one after playing with it in a brick and mortar store.
What can I say? This thing is like heaven compared to my old keyboard. Responsive, well designed, weighty, solid, good looking, non-gamerz backlighting (thank you!) and the 'PerfectStroke' concept really does feel like it was well designed -deeper than a notebook, but only a little!
I have had no issues with this keyboard at all and I'm unable to reproduce the space bar issue that I saw in a few reviews. Not sure if that's just a QC thing or someone typing strangely, hard to say.
In any case, this keyboard was definitely worth the money. I will never use another keyboard as long as I can get my hands on one of these. ;)

I was looking for scissor-type illuminated keyb, found yours and I love it! Buttons moves smoothly with certain stop, not like ribbon-type, thin and fancy design, soft and adjustable backlights definitely makes market for that product. Though there are few moments deserved to be attended.
1. Characters are located in the middle of buttons, which makes impossible to customize keyboard with international symbols. There's simply not enough space for those
2. "Fn" button is located at right side, which makes it harder to use - right-handed user must press it and then use left hand to choose proper functional button. Opposite would be more reliable.
3. Caps, Num, etc. lights are located under the numeric area, not above as usually, and so covered by right hand - not the best improvement either.

It looks great, feels great and performs like a champ.
I recently received this item and was shocked to find the box only contained the keyboard ... No manual, disk or even a quick set up guide. I realize it's only a keyboard and it's not that difficult to install but some kind of documentation would have been nice.

Like reviewer 'mica', I am also experiencing a space bar that is only sensitive in the middle.
Pressing the space bar on the left or right edge generates an audible "click", but no character is generated -- unless you smack the space bar really hard with your thumb! This may end up being a deal-breaker for me -- I also regularly type on an Apple Aluminum Keyboard on my Mac and have no issues.
It also unfortunate that Logitech decided to light up the silly orange icons on the function keys instead of illuminating the regular F-key label (or both).
If anybody has any suggestions (i.e. a carefully placed piece of cardboard or something) on getting a non-center space bar tap to register, add it to a review!

What a fantastic keyboard. There is such a thing as sexy gadgets and this is one of them. Great for any kind of working environment, from minimalistic to a hectic office workspace. When I was looking for a new keyboard to replace my old backlit one, I knew I couldn't go back to a non-backlit. style. My searches lead me to this. It feels great when typing and while not completely silent, it's quiet enough to not bother anyone or get in your head. This thing looks great sitting on my desk and all of the function keys work great. If there is a downside to this product I would have to be the price. It's clear that Logitech is charging quite a bit for appearances here.

Best keyboard I've ever owned - great feel, great looks, great value for the dollar. It feels sturdy, it looks very cool and sleek, and it has great key travel distance. The only disadvantage is that it is corded, but you can solve that with the diNovo if you need it.

I've been eyeing on this keyboard for a while and decided to buy it today. I am very happy with it. The design is very sleek and it types perfectly. It's perfect stroke is just amazing. The backlight comes with three different brightness.
There are two suggestions that might help to make this keyboard better:
First: Logitech should consider adding a USB port.
Second: There should be one or two programmable buttons that you can set for your liking to boost up your typing experience.
Other than that this keyboard is plain awesome. Another 5 star to Logitech.

In short, it looks great, feels great, does what it's supposed to do, except for one very important thing. The space bar is only sensitive in the middle. If I press on either side to the point that it makes a full "click" sound like all the other keys, it does not engage. I've used many, many keyboards over the years and have never had this issue. I'm having to adjust my typing style to keep this keyboard, because if not many of my words don't have spaces between them and I have to go back and add them - huge frustration. The space bar is only sensitive in about an inch width section directly in the middle. If that fits your typing style, fine, but the space bar is long for a reason... I suggest trying it out in a store first before buying. If they fix that one thing I'll give it straight 5 stars.

Simplay amazing! This is the best keyboard that I have ever used (and that is a lot of keyboards). The feelign of typing on this keyboard is different than any other. The keystrokes are deep and fluid, with a very nice feel to them.
The overall design is perfect! Loved the super thin design and clear acrlyic frame. Backlit keys are actually bright enough to be useful, a problem I have had with other products.
Only thing I can say is I wish the funciton keys and the backspace key were a bit larger, but not a big issue.
Logitech really stands behind their products! If you ever do have a problem with one, they are happy to have it replaced or fixed, and with a 3 year warranty (!) you can be sure this thing will last.

This is a superb keyboard. The touch is great, short throw on the keys, very fast and accurate, and the ilumination is just a bonus (although very cool).
If you're needing a keyboard that can take a hammering and still function like new, this is it - you need look no further. I write code 12 hours a day, and I have used and worn out many.

After becoming accustomed to the slew of features and overall ease of use on another Logitech keyboard, namely the diNovo Edge, I never thought that I'd be springing for a new keyboard so soon. I'm an avid writer, and most times I find myself going to my MacBook Pro because of its illuminated keys...it was a wonderful idea on a laptop, and it's an even better idea for an external keyboard. I work in low to moderate light for most of my day (and many times nights) and typing on the Edge, while it was a great experience, was more difficult because I often made keystroke mistakes.
Now to be perfectly honest, I wasn't expecting much from this keyboard, even at the higher price that it was set at. But over the past week that I've become accustomed to it, the keys look and feel fantastic on my fingers. I'll say right now that typing is AN ABSOLUTE JOY on this thing! I can work long hours into the night and not bother turning on any task lighting, since the backlights are so bright.
The functionality and the media controls are a great bonus as well, and they're clearly distinguishable since they are colored differently (dull orange) than the actual letter, function, and number keys (white). And the look of the keyboard on my work surface is stunning. I'm getting compliments for something I'd never expect to be complimented on!
So thank you Logitech for a fantastic product!

Nice and thin. At night, keys are pretty silent, the illumination does make typing a lot more easier at night.
The keys have so far not failed me, unlike other cheap ones that does not have the spring under the key it eventually doesn't bounce up anymore... This is an excellent keyboard that I would recommend to my friends. Thank Logitech
