I'm a multimedia creator and I work 16+ hours a day at a work station with 5 computer towers switched through a corner [3x24" Viewsonic Monitors, 2x Samson Studio Monitors, 2x Logitech G5 Gaming Mice, and 2x Logitech Illuminated keyboards at a 90 degree angle to each other]. I usually destroy most keyboards in a matter of months, my previous set [again I use 2 at a time] of Sietek's lasted about 6 months, before these. I'd used Sietek's for 3 years prior to that and gone through 12 of them at my work station [using 2 at a time].
I have been using these Illuminated Logitechs for just over a year, and they still look/work like brand new. If you were to walk up and look at them, you wouldn't be able tell if they were used or new, trust me.
Also, I've spilled a few items on these [my bad] and they clean right up since they are sealed keys. I spilled a diet coke on Sietek's a few times and when that happened you could just throw it in the trash, that was it. Not these.
Also...
With the Sietek's before, the illumnated writing wore down in about 3 months, and I used a black auto touch-up pen to re-color the worn down spots, also in 5-6 months the keys would stop working. Since the Illuminated keys are not just painted or colored they are molded this way, they don't wear down, they keep looking like new.
The best part of these keyboards [to me] is the way the keys stay soft and fast. Again, I can type 120 words a minute and after much, much use they still work exactly like a new keyboard. Most keyboards [even other Logitechs] get "bouncy" and loud after extreme use. Not these.
I just hope that Logitech keeps manufaturing these for a long time, my biggest fear is that they discontinue them. I have a "spare" in a box setting under my desk just in case one dies, but honestly I just don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.
One last thing...
When these came out there was some fellow posting all over the Internet that this model keyboard had a design flaw that made the keys stick if you were a fast typist. Well, at 120 wpm I never ever saw that and I dare you to put another keyboard up to this one, I've tried them all over the years.
This keyboard is literally the best keyboard, and probably the wisest computer investment I've ever made, and I will continue to use these as long as they are available.
This keyboard is worth every penny of $79, and if you look around you can find them on sale.
Bravo to Logitech!!!
