Fantastic Mouse

Date:February 22, 2010
Loaded with features and well made. With combination of changeable grip and weights this mouse will be the best fit and feel you have ever had.
The programmable features adapt the mouse to any program and switch automatically. I have 5 screens so fast movement is a big plus, but the mouse slows down for accurate movement within my programs.
Another great feature is the on demand switching of the mouse between dpi levels you customize. Great for games for switching between a faster mouse for speedy movements and slow for sniping accuracy. It is also great for programs like Photoshop where the mouse can be instantly slowed to a crawl for very detailed work.
Truly the best mouse I have ever worked with. Get this mouse, and you will be hoping when its dead, that Logitech is still making new ones!

Super Precise and Slick

Date:January 5, 2013
The G9x Laser mouse is an extremely precise and accurate mouse for the small price.
I have gone through many products of different brands, and I have never had a mouse this accurate with DPI change on the fly as well as being able to change out the weights

Awesome Mouse

Date:January 1, 2013
I got this mouse for a Christmas present, and is probably the best mouse I've ever had. My only problem with it is there isn't a program for changing keybindings and such for Linux. Still having to keep my Windows install is really the only downer about this mouse. The weights are sweet, can't decide which grip I like better, and the DPI settings are nice for some games when you need to turn up and down sensitivity fast. Overall great mouse, just needs a Linux program!

Scroll Wheel Fails

Date:October 30, 2012
I have had 3 of this mouse now and every time after 1-2 years the scroll wheel stops working. It is a shame because other than that it is the best mouse I have ever had. I wish I could recommend this, but replacing my mouse every 1-2 years just is not worth the cost of this one regardless of how comfortable it is to use and how great the software is.
Logitech if you read this please make a redesign of this with a more reliable scroll wheel.

A great purchase that you will not regret.

Date:August 19, 2012
Almost everything about this mouse is excellent and giving it any less than 4 stars in a rating category would be insanity. The materials used in the g9x make it both look and feel like a high quality product. I have been using this as my main head-seeker for almost a year now. As far as in game performance goes, logitech hits gets it perfect with their gaming grade lazer and highly customizable macro software and mouse settings.
Ergonomically speaking the 2 interchangeable grips are really a treat, catering both palm and claw grip users.
As a claw gripper I obviously stuck with the matte grip. My only complaints in this department would have to be the awkwardness of the mouse 3 button: it is located slightly too far to the right for my tastes and requires slightly more pressure to press then I would have liked.
My only real disappointments with the g9x are the lack of a wireless version and the lack of a mmo style mouse button variant. I guess you can't win them all.
Overall, I highly recommend this product from an avid fps and rts gamer's prospective. If you take your time to love it and find the settings that allow you to be in sync with it, it will surely pay off.

Best mice i've ever used

Best mouse i've ever had. No problems whats so ever. Best if used for claw grip but with changable pads you can use it as a claw/palm grip.
No mistake with this one :)

Great product, never got to fully use it

Date:July 27, 2012
I loved this mouse when I first bought it. It was comfortable, customizable, and perfect for any situation. However, the wire on it very quickly broke on me within a few weeks, so I had to buy a new mouse shortly after I got this one. It was great while I used it, but I just wish it could have survived.

Amazing Mouse

Date:July 14, 2012
So, let's get this straight. I've always been a fan of Logitech. The first keyboard + mouse combination I had was from logitech. It wasn't a gaming one, but I used it for more than 5 years at everything I needed, from gaming to general use. Two or three months ago I bought this mouse and I knew it was a very good one since Logitech never dissapointed me. And I was right.
Now, let's get to the review. I was impressed by the fact that I choose the DPI level settings, and I don't have to pick from the manufacturer's. The interchangable grips are quite useful, even though I forget sometimes to change them. The precision grip is not very comfortable, but it sure gives you a lot more control. Even though, the comfort grip makes up for it, so you won't be forced to use the precision grip when doing normal tasks. The weight turning system is also good, even though I don't use it very often.
Now, the only con to this mouse is that the click buttons are very weak, so it makes me press them sometimes by accident.
Other than that, it's great. It's the type of mouse that combines all other mice on the market in one, because it's fully customizable.

Best Mouse I Ever Used (And I Still Use It Now)

This is the best mouse I have ever used. You can customize the speed witch is really nice for me because I'm a gamer and i also do art on the computer. (I use 1600 dpi for gaming and 200 dpi for art) I'll go over the pros and cons.
Pros:
Very acurate (No jittering or going fast then slow)
You are able to switch dpi levels on the fly.
Back and forward buttons in just the right place for your thumb to hit.
You can customize the LED colors of the speed indicator.
The Scroll is ether click to click scrolling (Good for weapon selection in games) Or flow almost frictionless fast scrolling. Also if you get Flow Scroll the scrolling for this mouse is amazing.
You can customize the weights in the mouse.
The Side for my thumb fits it perfectly.
Cons:
The pinkie side for the mouse is straight up and down so i get pinkie drag.
Overall, this is one of the best mice out there. It fits your hand, can switch dpi levels on the fly, and has a very good laser. Anyone that needs a good mouse for gaming that will now break in 2 seconds should get this. I have had this for I think over a year and it is still standing strong. It the protective layer on the case for the mouse is mostly scratched off, but it still works fine.

Not What I Had Hoped It Would Be....

Date:May 16, 2012
I bought this mouse to match a new gaming laptop after my wireless Logitech G7 mouse had given out after years of service. I wanted a wired mouse thinking it would give me better efficiency. This mouse is not like other regular mice. It is not contoured to the palm of the hand like a standard mouse. 'For me', It was very uncomfortable to use. Its forward slant made it hard to control on certain surfaces and with general use. It has an extremely long USB cord. It comes with 2 outer shells, one with a smooth surface the other with a course surface. Other than the finish, the shells are exactly the same. They do nothing but widen the grip slightly. It preformed no better than a normal non-gaming mouse. The added weights it comes with make it heavier but I never found a need for them. The quality and make up seemed good but be careful of the scroll release button on the bottom. If pressed it will make the scroll dial move with the slightest touch. After one day of trying it out I ended up returning it to the retailer I bought it from. For a gaming mouse I was very disappointed. This mouse proves the most expensive isn't better. Shop around and compare. Word of mouth is priceless!

Good for surfing, GREAT for gaming!

Date:May 14, 2012
I've had this mouse for quite a while and have had nothing but a positive experience with it. I spend about half of my time gaming and find the mouse to be very comfortable and precise. (Something that is very needed in games such as Starcraft II)

Best Mouse I've Ever Used

Date:March 20, 2012
I am a power user at work and have both a gaming keyboard and this mouse and it's the best one I've ever used. I look at long spreadsheets and LOVE the free-spinning scroll wheel. I also have to do very precise movements when formatting graphics and make use of the on-the-fly DPI settings. I recently tried a competitor's brand when I didn't have access to my G9X and couldn't wait to get back to it. It is the standard of excellence as far as I'm concerned.

Awesome!

Date:March 17, 2012
I did a lot of research on gaming mice. I didn't want to spend $100 on a mouse, but I wanted one that had a high dpi and a lot of features. The Logitech G9x was the perfect choice. I really love the on the fly adjustable dpi setting and the fact that you can change the color of the light. The real highlight of this mouse is the speed. It is super fast and super smooth. The only complaint I have with it is that it feels a little awkward at first for my hands. After using it for a little bit, I am more used to it and it feels great. Def a great buy!

CORD SHORT

Date:January 24, 2012
Like everyone complaining on this site, my cord shorted out right before the mouse. I wouldn't recommend this mouse as it appears to be a major problem. Hence the low grade for quality. I'll see if they refund or approve the warranty.

I adore this mouse

Date:January 24, 2012
Seriously, the title says it all. This is, without a doubt, the absolute best mouse I have ever used. It feels great in my hand (once I switched out the Wide Load covering), responds perfectly, and has a nice number of features that all come in quite handy.
The ease of use is 4 stars because the normal user might have to take a few minutes out of their day to read the manual, and make sure they understand the software and all the features. It also requires a little customization for weights, but it's not that had to understand.
The ergonomics of the mouse is only 4 stars because I had to swap out the Wide Load covering for the other one, and until I figured that out it REALLY hurt my wrists. So if it's very uncomfortable, swap out the covering!

Long term use review

I've used this mouse for about 2 years and since the time of purchase and the time I chose to replace it, I found only one issue with this product. The wire, at the point at which it enters the mouse casing, continually developed a break or short. The first time this occurred there was significant fraying of the wire insulation as well due to contact with the mouse pad. To repair the short, I happen to be technically savvy, I opened the casing, cut and shortened the wire bypassing the broken/short. This occured 3 times in 2 years. Each time I lost about 3 inches of cord length but managed to repair the issue. I don't recommend this procedure unless you know what you're doing and be careful to note how the mouse wheel assembly is put together before you take it appart. Some tiny parts can also become separated and are difficult to piece together again. Further you need to remove the glide pads from the bottom of the mouse to get at the screws. This will farily ruin the pads unless you can find a very good adhesive to replace them properly. Anyway, upon the 4th occurance of the wire shorting out, I decided to replace the mouse alltogether.
Logitech designers, I suggest you install semi-flexible transitory ribbing (see attached image) around the wire as it exits the mouse to allow for some flexibilty while mitigating the heavy flexing that occurs while the mouse is moving one way but the majority of the cable weight tends to hold still depending how it's threaded through your desktop equipment, cable management products and the like. It's kind of like constantly flexing one end of a paper clip wire while holding the other end in a vice. eventually the wire will break where the wire meets the vice.
Anyway.. that issue asside the other many features of this mouse are very well designed and the software easy and trouble free. I WOULD recommend this mouse for gamers in every other regard. Thank you for reading. :)

Great hardware

Date:January 6, 2012
I have only one problem with this mouse. The button for the speed change is directly under your left click finger and in the heat of battle I have accidenally changed the speed, making the mouse perform very differently from what is expected.
I absolutely love this mouse and have no problem recommending it. It functions as advertised, maybe even better, and the software and customization features are easy and fun to use.I had my reservations coming from a MS Intellimouse explorer laser(loved that mouse) as to the comfort. But the G9x is very comfortable to use over long periods. Thanks Logitech, great mouse, the best I have ever used.
