Loaded with features and well made. With combination of changeable grip and weights this mouse will be the best fit and feel you have ever had. The programmable features adapt the mouse to any program and switch automatically. I have 5 screens so fast movement is a big plus, but the mouse slows down for accurate movement within my programs. Another great feature is the on demand switching of the mouse between dpi levels you customize. Great for games for switching between a faster mouse for speedy movements and slow for sniping accuracy. It is also great for programs like Photoshop where the mouse can be instantly slowed to a crawl for very detailed work. Truly the best mouse I have ever worked with. Get this mouse, and you will be hoping when its dead, that Logitech is still making new ones!

I've had this mouse for quite a while and have had nothing but a positive experience with it. I spend about half of my time gaming and find the mouse to be very comfortable and precise. (Something that is very needed in games such as Starcraft II)

I am a power user at work and have both a gaming keyboard and this mouse and it's the best one I've ever used. I look at long spreadsheets and LOVE the free-spinning scroll wheel. I also have to do very precise movements when formatting graphics and make use of the on-the-fly DPI settings. I recently tried a competitor's brand when I didn't have access to my G9X and couldn't wait to get back to it. It is the standard of excellence as far as I'm concerned.

I did a lot of research on gaming mice. I didn't want to spend $100 on a mouse, but I wanted one that had a high dpi and a lot of features. The Logitech G9x was the perfect choice. I really love the on the fly adjustable dpi setting and the fact that you can change the color of the light. The real highlight of this mouse is the speed. It is super fast and super smooth. The only complaint I have with it is that it feels a little awkward at first for my hands. After using it for a little bit, I am more used to it and it feels great. Def a great buy!

Like everyone complaining on this site, my cord shorted out right before the mouse. I wouldn't recommend this mouse as it appears to be a major problem. Hence the low grade for quality. I'll see if they refund or approve the warranty.

Seriously, the title says it all. This is, without a doubt, the absolute best mouse I have ever used. It feels great in my hand (once I switched out the Wide Load covering), responds perfectly, and has a nice number of features that all come in quite handy.
The ease of use is 4 stars because the normal user might have to take a few minutes out of their day to read the manual, and make sure they understand the software and all the features. It also requires a little customization for weights, but it's not that had to understand.
The ergonomics of the mouse is only 4 stars because I had to swap out the Wide Load covering for the other one, and until I figured that out it REALLY hurt my wrists. So if it's very uncomfortable, swap out the covering!

semi-flexible transitory ribbing is needed on several Logitech mouse models
I've used this mouse for about 2 years and since the time of purchase and the time I chose to replace it, I found only one issue with this product. The wire, at the point at which it enters the mouse casing, continually developed a break or short. The first time this occurred there was significant fraying of the wire insulation as well due to contact with the mouse pad. To repair the short, I happen to be technically savvy, I opened the casing, cut and shortened the wire bypassing the broken/short. This occured 3 times in 2 years. Each time I lost about 3 inches of cord length but managed to repair the issue. I don't recommend this procedure unless you know what you're doing and be careful to note how the mouse wheel assembly is put together before you take it appart. Some tiny parts can also become separated and are difficult to piece together again. Further you need to remove the glide pads from the bottom of the mouse to get at the screws. This will farily ruin the pads unless you can find a very good adhesive to replace them properly. Anyway, upon the 4th occurance of the wire shorting out, I decided to replace the mouse alltogether.
Logitech designers, I suggest you install semi-flexible transitory ribbing (see attached image) around the wire as it exits the mouse to allow for some flexibilty while mitigating the heavy flexing that occurs while the mouse is moving one way but the majority of the cable weight tends to hold still depending how it's threaded through your desktop equipment, cable management products and the like. It's kind of like constantly flexing one end of a paper clip wire while holding the other end in a vice. eventually the wire will break where the wire meets the vice.
Anyway.. that issue asside the other many features of this mouse are very well designed and the software easy and trouble free. I WOULD recommend this mouse for gamers in every other regard. Thank you for reading. :)

I have only one problem with this mouse. The button for the speed change is directly under your left click finger and in the heat of battle I have accidenally changed the speed, making the mouse perform very differently from what is expected. I absolutely love this mouse and have no problem recommending it. It functions as advertised, maybe even better, and the software and customization features are easy and fun to use.I had my reservations coming from a MS Intellimouse explorer laser(loved that mouse) as to the comfort. But the G9x is very comfortable to use over long periods. Thanks Logitech, great mouse, the best I have ever used.

This mouse is amazing for gaming. It's completely customizable right down to the grip and weight. The individual performance profiles come in handy as well, especially when you have it set to application specific.
The only function I wish this mouse had is not for gaming, but for general use. That function is the Hyper-fast scrolling that can be found on other mice such as the Logitech M705. I have this mouse at work and it is a function I've really gotten to like. Almost makes it hard to use a mouse without it. Add this function to the G9x and you have the perfect mouse in my book.

I am mostly an MMO player and have tried those mice with 12+ buttons and all that fancy stuff. This one fits my needs perfectly. Not too much to handle and very comfortable.
I switched from the original MX mouse to this one (want to try something corded) and the move was the right one. The weights allow me to balance it more for my style and my wife has hers set up completely different (she likes her a lot lighter than me).
I can't stress how nice this mouse really is when you play for hours and hours on end!
The only CON was figuring out (initially) how to get settings stored on the mouse. That was just a slight annoyance more than anything else. I have shown this to many people and have had them try mine and then go buy one!

gone through 2 of these and a G9.. all of them died from the same thing a short in the wire. g9's were known for this and i guess it was never completely fixed only reason im recommend this is cause of the warranty all of mine have been replaced completely free and the customer support is awsome. so now i instead of them sending me a g9x cause its dead to me. i asked for a g500 for my replacement and they gave it too me and a nice discount coupon on the online store for my troubles.

I bought this mouse becaus i heard so much good things about it, so i tried it out... i orderd it on teusday and it came the following monday,,, the custom DPI and the weight and grip makes this mouse SO worth it. I would have bought this mouse for $100. its worth it... you cant see the lazer but its there, the setup was like 5 mins and SUPER quick. the only thing i dont like, is the complexity of the user account on it, its a challange. but overall. this is the best mouse i have ever purchased and if it breaks in like 4 years, im buying another one

I've been through a couple of logitech mice like the mx518 and g500, and have even tried a razer DA 3.5g. However, being a claw gripper the DA and even the mx518 seemed to be lacking a good grip for me. The mx518 was my previous mouse and I thought it was the best mouse up until I purchased the g9x. The g9x is perfect for claw grippers imo but palm grippers will do fine as long as the user has small hands. The response is great, button placement is so perfect that I never struggle to find where the buttons are while gaming. Tested the g9x on Counter Strike:Source and BF Bad Company and my level of game play has drastically improved! When you find your perfect dpi setting, youll find this mouse becomes an extension of your hand.
Pros: Response, Accuracy, Onboard memory, side button placement, and the two different grips.
Con: My only complain would be the position of the mouse wheel, it could be a bit more to the left but to his or her own. Regardless, it doesn't lessen the quality of this mouse :)

Well i bought this last january 2010 and i must say that this is a really good mouse. The quality is crazy! So now i have had this mouse for one and a half year and the only thing that has worn down is where my pinky and thumb rests(i have the silver model) so it has turned abit black but that doesnt do anything plus i have only used the silver grip (aka comfort grip). It fits "MY" hand perfectly.. I have small hands, im 14 so thats pretty obvious.. But overall this mouse is a must buy! and the weight and grips are just nice! I just bought a Razer deathadder but after a day or two i moved back to my old G9X :) The DA can wait, hehe :).
Well done Logitech!

I've written one review of anything in my life and this is it. Read it please because I've spent far too long on this and I hope it won't be wasted as well :P
I've had copperhead, sideweinders and krones to name but a few mice. I've had so many because they go flying regularly. This one hasn't been once yet in my first month. Measure your hand span and if it's some near mine 21cm or 8in and you like small mice get this.
Cover off you can play and it improved my play noticeably width 57mm length who cares but 90mm
Thanks Long live G15 v1 ps got a broken G15v1 buy a g11 and swap the insides. It works fine I did it.
