Best there is

Date:February 3, 2013
i've had my G13 for so long i don't remember. works great in alot of applications and games.
One little itty bitty request which i'm sure would make this a whole lot more desirable to gamers...... Wireless.. specially if you make it unifying....
at least the cord is long but wireless would take this over the top.
still would recommend this to anyone.

Best Buy Yet

Date:November 27, 2012
I bought my G13 when the product first was offered and have been thrilled with ever since. I had a stroke in 01 which took the use of mt right arm. My Dr recommended that I begin playing the FPS games. As you might imagin I was killed a lot and found the games frustrating at times. While at Best Buy I spotted the G13 and after asking some questions I bought one. The programing phase was very hard but the folks at Logitech walked me through my initial programming. Within no time at all I was playng my games with ease. I have now played all the COD games as well as the Battlefied and Far Cry series to their completion, at all levels, using just my one hand. The little joy stick really helps The only problem I've had was that the first time I asked for help with getting the updated version of the program the "tech" gave me the wrong info and I erased all 16 games that were programmed. I would highly recommend this gamepad to anyone who is diabled but still wishes to play the games.

Don't waste it on gaming!

Date:November 24, 2012
This device is awesome! I have used it for some months now. I don’t even play the type of games for which it was designed. It should also be marketed and a productivity device. I was once a programmer. If I had had this device at that time, it would have paid for itself in the first week, if not sooner. I can see its application in any sort of design program like architecture, web pages, etc. It would have it place anywhere commands of multiple keystrokes, key combination, etc. are frequently used. I use it with Sibelius, a sheet music program. It has saved me untold time and aggravation, yet I have not even come close to using all of it capabilities. Great job Logitech.

Best PC peripheral I've ever owned.

Date:November 18, 2012
I got the G13 shortly after it was released and continue to use it for gaming. I use it for FPS, MMO, RTS, and MOBA games. I find a way to incorporate it into my play style regardless of game type. It shined in WoW raids where I ran a clean (completely keybound) interface on my priest. In STO where the thumb stick allows me to effortlessly reroute power to shields. Even in LoL where I can make quick use of my abilities, summoner spells, and active abilities on equipment.
The only improvements I might make would be to make the press on the thumb stick a little less hard to click, and maybe better tactile identification of WASD.
I cannot imagine not having this thing on my desk. I've heard it may not be being made anymore. I can only hope that, that signals a revised version on the way to market.. because I cannot imagine PC gaming without this device.

Very Happy with This Gameboard

Date:November 7, 2012
I've been looking for an analog thumb stick with many buttons for so long now. This allows me to play fps games on the PC without using the traditional WASD keys and allows me to combine keys thru macros.
What is cool about this is it's futuristic design. Feels like you are in a spaceship or something. Also, you can change the back lights and the display on it which is so way awesome. The design is very beautiful too.
The game pad is ergonomic and allows me to play games with ease without straining my hands due to the design of the keys and the palm rest.
Words cannot express how happy i am that I got this awesome game pad. Truly a treasure in a gamer's arsenal and one i would keep for a long time.

Don't break your keyboard, use a game pad

Date:October 24, 2012
I had an old Claw game pad for years (australian made) and I was happy with it's simple and very functional operation... until the buttons started to fail and I required a new gamepad.
I choose Logitech because it is Logitech, let's face it other brands out there lack the driver support Logitech has showed since the begining... and hopefully will keep doing so.
The G13 was available and it looked identical to the Nostromo type game pads of old, those which I hated because it was like having a small keyboard and not ergonimic like the Claw which was shaped like my hand and fingers.
I didn't like the idea of change, but I had to so I went for it: in comparison to the old Nostromo the G13 looks modern at first sight, and now that I have used it for over a week I must say I am glad I made the purchase.
It comes with a G15 keyboard "like" screen where the apps can be loaded, actually the apps I load on my G15 keyboard appear on the G13 game pad, so I get to choose where to keep SirReal's app and where to see the game I am playing (if it has an app) or the MSI Afterburner app which show my Radeon's specs in real time.
It has a ton of game profiles, even weird games like Star Trek Online have a profile already loaded into it... which might require tweaking like I did with the Left 4 Dead 2 one.
In the end it is a matter of what you want to do to play games: destroy your keyboard, which does after a while with extreme gaming... or have a gamepad to balance usage and durability as well as have better gaming quality. I choose to have the game pad for those reasons.
The only negative thing about it is, first, having too many options and buttons: it could have less and basically be made with the form of a hand, with buttons at each finger tip... but loosing the ones in the middle which go below the palm, like the Claw had, but having more options is always a good thing.
The second negative thing, if so, would be how difficult it might be to adjust to use it... I am still doing so and learning the best keys setup for each game, which one to use to jump or run and which one to use to fire all weapons and such.
If it last like my G15 keyboard then the thing was made to last a decade, it depends on how well the user takes care of it... from what I have seen so far I would need to punch it at least 3 times to break it, something people who had problems with it might have done... be honest guys.

Waste of money

Date:October 12, 2012
Logitech can make a Mouse but not gameboard.
I purchased two of these products one for myself and my sister last year. Mainly to replace my old nostromo gameboard which still worked after 10 years but I wanted a good replacement and the new nostromos have bad reviews.
Now after a year my keys are bugging out already on my board, I never liked the ergonomics it was designed for someone with a hand about 2 times the size of mine I can only guess. My sister had to put stupid stickers on the keys because she could never find the equivalent of wasd on the board as it only has slight indentations for those keys. She never uses it, it just sits next to her keyboard.
I am going back to my ten year old nostromo, and when that dies I think I will just buy an old one off ebay as it was and is soo much nicer than this expensive paper weight.

Technically Sound; Ergonomically Needs Refinement

Date:August 7, 2012
It worked right out of the box on Mac OS for WoW. Looks very slick, but some of the features, like the timer and display of your WoW stats, are of little use. And, as others have mentioned, the arrangement of the keys is a little awkward. What's needed, in my opinion, is a device that is shaped more naturally for the hand, something curved that can be gripped with 4-switches for the thumb, so you're not reaching for keys. If you take a look at something like the CH Throttle, although it's designed for Flight Sims, it adapts very well for button intensive games like WoW, and puts the buttons in natural, easy-to-reach positions for your fingers.
Overall, I would recommend it. It works as advertised, it's well built and the programming interface is easy to use.

Great product

Date:May 7, 2012
Great product. I would only change a few things about it. I would definitely use the thumbstick for movement unlike what another reviewer said. I thing the thumbstick ability to move is key.
The thumbstick material is not so good as it's just plastic, I found my thumb slipping off it and sometimes hard to use. I ended up modding the pad by removing the stick and replacing it with a thumbstick from a logitech gamepad....much better. More like using a PS2 thumbstick and one of the few engineering changes that should be made.
The other change has to do with the positioning of the keys. With my middle finger resting on the G11 key it is not so easy to lift it and press the G17 key, just below it, so I would prefer to pull my middle finger towards that button as if clenching my hand. This would require the g17 button to face more towards the g11 key or more horizontal than it is now.
I own two of these. Hand size will be important.

Best MMO peripheral I have ever owned.

Date:May 3, 2012
I have used a number of gaming peripherals for MMOs. I tried the Belkin n51/Razer Nostromo and even one of those older Warrior Xxtreme and the zBoards. Nothing has compared to the ease of use, logic and functionality of this peripheral: the G13.
I have owned mine for about 2 1/2 years and it has been such a blessing if you are someone into PvP or RvR. I have recommended this peripheral to a great number of my gaming buddies and they have all said this is the greatest thing they own for gaming.
Now, it does take some getting use to. Not very long though. It is more of a personal way you want to set up your G13 than anything and remembering your keybinds, etc.
One word of advice with this device. The thumb-joystick is not something you should use as a movement device. Instead, lock it into some keybinds like 1,2,3,4, etc. I have found, and so have my friends, that the best movement keys are using the G4, G10,G11 and G12 as your WSAD keys (those Gkeys even have little indents in them so your fingers feel them out easier as your WSAD keys. And the G22 key is PERFECTLY positioned to be your space/jump key.
All in all, this is a fantastic peripheral and you would be an idiot not to buy this. This is far superior to any MMO mouse or keyboard. This is device is the pinnacle of gaming peripherals.

It really speeds up my work, especially when I'm editing and publishing 1000+ event photos in one day.

Room to Improve

Date:February 7, 2012
I love this product and use it daily for both my work (Programming) and video gaming. Setting up profiles and macros is rather simple, and lets you automate tasks that are repeated often.
I only have 2 dings for it, the first is that i have larger than normal sized hands, and sometimes i wish that there was some sort of adjustable screws to adjust the curve of the wrist rest and the location of the thumb stick. The second is that i wish there was another row of keys above the current lay out. Mostly for video gaming purposes, i keep my fingers on the "WASD" layout keys and that means i don't have any keys above my position, somewhat limiting the number of items i can bind to the keypad. Were Logitech to add these features id easily spend any amount to get that item.

No two people's hands are the same size , so sure, some will complain about the ergonomics. But , that being said, this keypad is all you could hope for. Most issues i have read in other reviews are simply a matter of others not understanding how to operate the macro features or other tech issues. Bottom line : GET THIS !,...you will not be sorry!

Great Pad with one Flaw

Date:October 6, 2011
This is a very great pad. Works exceptionally well with the new 8.0 software which ties all the logitech Gameing devices into one package. The main flaw to me is that I am Left Handed so I need this for my Right Hand. Please Logitech have some faith in the fact that a item like this will sell as there is a large number of people out in the world that is Left Handed. you make a left handed gameing mouse just test a right hand gameing pad. I will definately by one.
