This mouse handles very well. The extra weight from the batteries - which turns some users off - seems nice to me. I get about a week out of the batteries, unless I leave it on overnight. It will be drained the next morning. I wish Logitech had provided for recharging, but you can solve that easily by getting a recharger for 4 AA's. Then you always have two available. In both Mac and Windows, the mouse has to be reconnected fairly often - but not always - when you reboot.

This is Logitech's only other Bluetooth mouse (V470 was the older one) and it definitely has its upsides. It's priced the same as the V470 (at least from the store i got it from) and there are some improvements over the older Bluetooth V470, but there are some minor issues as well which would hardly bother most people.
Look & Feel
1. It looks sleek with its glossy surface and its overall slim design and not forgetting that shiny silver Logitech logo plate.
2. Due to it's slim form factor, it doesn't exactly have the best ergonomics although the slightly raised back helps keep the rear end steady and this is important because:
3. The 2 AA batteries add a bit of weight to the rear end of the mouse resulting in a slightly uneven force distribution. You will get used to it though, none of these are big issues, just highlighting.
Features & Performance
1. The M555b definitely has more features than the older V470. The M555b comes with Logitech's MicroGear (Hyper Scrolling) technology and an Application Switch button which can be reassigned with the included SetPoint software.
2. The tracking on this mouse is excellent, pin-pointing is no issue and there's practically zero noticeable lag. The mouse fairs excellently on this point.
3. Battery life is nothing to shout about, but it is adequate. (Based on the estimate battery life from SetPoint software).
Conclusion
Need a bluetooth mouse? Get one. It works like a charm and feels surprisingly solid, too for a notebook mouse but maybe it's due to the added battery weight. For the same price as the V470, why not get the newer, feature-packed, better looking one?

As a pointing device, the tracking and connectivity of this mouse are flawless. I use it for desktop, gaming (TF2 mostly) and some graphic design and haven't noticed any precision error or response lag. It's not that comfortable though. The back edge sticks into your palm if you use it sitting at a desktop (I think it was meant to be used by someone standing at a podium, with palm arched over the mouse). It could use back and forward buttons too, though you can map the wheel tilt to those functions. Decent mouse and a proof that Bluetooth is ready for primetime, but try it out in a store before buying.

Bought this to replace a mighty mouse, and its useless trackball that needed cleaning every few days. MUCH BETTER!!! I can dial in just the feel i want with the logitech software. Nice solid feel and Im really liking the scroll wheel, as others have noted at least 1 other programmable button would be nice.

Using this mouse on a MBP core 2 duo @ 2.2GHz, running on OS X 10.5.8. LCC v3.
I really want to like this mouse, but it is causing some buffer issues w/ Finder and the Firefox Bookmarks menus. I am getting very frequent hangs, where the mouse will not work until I wait 10 seconds or so or click on the keyboard.
If this were fixed, I would recommend this mouse over the competitors, which I have tried. But until it is fixed, I would not recommend this mouse.

I bought this mouse from this site about a week ago and just got it today. It is almost exactly what I'm looking for. Bluetooth works great. I love the expose button. With the free Logitech software SetPoint I set left scroll as copy and right scroll as paste, which is very convenient. If you click the middle scroll button, it toggles between fast scroll and normal scroll (puts/takes away the clicks when scrolling). When you are fast scrolling, it just rolls and keeps rolling until you stop it with your finger.
It's perfect for the MacBook Pro!
The ONLY problem I have is it's ergonomics. It's not bad or anything, its just not that perfect form fitting mouse like the Logitech V450 (which I also have), however it is still comfortable. It's worth it because it doesn't take up a USB port and doesn't have a little wireless numb sticking out of the USB port.
If Logitech made it as form fitting as the V450, it would be the best mouse in the world. Again, it's not uncomfortable, it's just not perfect... It's still a great mouse! The best bluetooth mouse on the market!

We desperately needed a new mouse for our iMac after growing to despise Apple's Mighty Mouse. We had two simple requirements: Bluetooth (no dongles), and full sized.
The M555B is obviously Bluetooth. And while it's not quite full sized, it's bigger than the typical "notebook" or "travel" mouse.
It paired with our iMac immediately (I did have to press the "Connect" button on the bottom while our Mac sniffed for Bluetooth devices). I never bothered to install the Logitech software.
Ergonomically it feels substantial - nothing cheap about it.
The wheel is fantastic. In fast mode, it scrolls super fast and smooth - like a race car. I love it! If you click the wheel down, it shifts into "slow" mode, where it basically feels like a "normal" mouse, with little clicks as you scroll.
And that little "application changer" button on top works perfectly out-of-the-box, it brings up the Mac gadgets, similar to what F3 on my keyboard does.
Totally love this mouse. Perfect replacement for the outrageously bad Apple Mighty Mouse.

If it had one more programable button on the left side to the back of it and if the right click didn't push into my finger (based on how I naturally hold the device), it would have been perfect.

The build quality is great, as expected from a Logitech product. No lag from the mouse either. However, it doesn't feel as good in my hands as the VX Nano did. My major gripe about this is the lack of side buttons and a second scrolling wheel on the side.
It's not a bad mouse by any means, but I highly suggest Logitech to make a bluetooth version of the VX Nano.

way to few buttons. I would like to have a bluetooth-mouse with the amount of buttons the vx nano has!
Other than that: A good mouse!
