I had to replace my Z5500's 5.1 after two and a half years due to the control box broke and Logitech can't replace it. I was leary to replace them with another 5.1 seeing as the control box breaking after 2 years is a common problem. The sound in the Z520's is so poor I am going to replace them and throw them away. I will never purchase another Logitech product.

Fantastic! Great for use in home studio. I love using it while making my music. It has a great 360 degree surround sound that makes the use of it an unforgettable experience. These speakers / monitors are fantastic for home studios / gaming that the owners don't have much money to buy better ones.

These aren't the best speakers around, but for the price it is very reasonable. The 360 sound is very good.

Firstly, the build quality is fantastic. It feels like a sturdy set of speakers. The materials it's made of are nice.
For a set of stereo speakers, there are plenty of features such as a volume knob (super handy), and an a headphone jack and iPod audio input. It would be better if it came with a cable for that though.
The sound quality is crisp, deep, and full from lows to highs for a set of stereo speakers this size and price, although it obviously lacks the bass a subwoofer has. For "normal" usage (meaning casually listening to music, gaming, watching videos, etc.) they are perfectly suited for the job. If you wanted a pair of speakers to use for blasting music at parties, you should buy a larger set of speakers.
The speakers are incredibly straightforward and easy to set up and use, with an idiotproof knob on the front to turn it on and off as well as control volume.
As for ergonomics, the volume knob has the perfect amount of resistance, not too loose, not too stiff. The speakers are angled for use on a desk more than anything really, and the size is best suited for using on a desk, either with a desktop or laptop.
Bottom line:
A pair of high quality speakers that perform great for desktop speakers. The value for money is somewhat debatable though.

Who cares about loud sound? You can't expect loud from a space-saving 2.0 system. I wanted speakers to fit my limited space and be good for music listening. These speakers do the job more than adequately. The sound is nice and clear from low to high. More bass and better sound than the Altec Lansing 2.0 system it's replacing (and those speakers were pretty good too). The bidirectional speakers produce a nice full sound that can fill a small room. I never have to turn these up all the way to get all the sound that I need.
These speakers do have a headphone jack, which is convenient, and headphone sound is much better through these speakers than through a direct connection to the sound card. There's an IPod jack that I don't use, and a conveniently located volume control but no treble or bass controls, so there isn't a ton of features. Still, I don't really miss the separate treble and bass knobs and hardly ever used them on my other system.
On the whole, very nice speakers for the money. I would definitely recommend them.
