Bought Creative Live! Cam Optia AF 2-megapixel webcam for me and gave my brother this one 2 years ago. What a mistake. The picture quality is much better in the Logitech and the drivers/software is much better. I bought mine in Hong Kong this year and the salesman tried to sell me Philips webcam with higher res and I said no way. This one works without a flaw. Even thou getting old still highly recommended.

I hae ee using the pro 9000 for about six months and it rocks. I use it to broadcast mbile video from my mini 9 and it has been exceptional. The Optics have been excellent.
The only negative is the "follow me" program. it zooms in and out consantly while broadcasting so I have this function turned off.
But the rest is heaven. What a great vid in 720p.

This has the best reviews of "newegg" (a hard rating to get)
I bought two cams, one for me and one for my girl in Texas. She has a ~2.5 single core Dell and I have a $400 Compaq special P0S. We both have cable modems linked to ethernet (a MUST). She "can" use it on her wifi laptop but vid quality is diminished. I don't get 30 frames per second (VHS quality) because my comp is slow. If you have a dual core computer you will get amazing results.
If you are considering this for a long distance relationship or trying to keep up with loved ones, please dont get the cheap one. This thing works flawlessly. And I use it all the time.
Also, don't bother with Skype. The logitech Vid software you download off the site is MUCH better than Skype.
Thank you Logitech. I feel like they had some part in bridging the distance between me and my girl.

I got this on sale and compared to some other Logitech webcam models, this is amazing. It's very clear and crisp and can also be fun to use as well. I definitely recommend to this to anyone who wants a webcam, this is one of the best available. Better on sale of course

I bought this about 10 days ago and installed it on
my Windows XP computer. Very easy to install
and use. Self tests look superb. I've only used it
with two people and they both commented on
good the audio and video was and the fact that
the lips sync well with the audio.

Alot of bang for your buck. 100 USD is a great price for what you get.
- Pros
The colors are accurate and the image is razor sharp. Even in very dim light it's top-notch. My computer is VERY old and cheap and its usually very slow, but I still get the full 30fps when recording with it at VGA resolution. It takes photos as good as any consumer digital camera would. 8-megapixels!
- Cons
The microphone is bad, but you can get a decent microphone for 9 dollars, no biggie. I'm not too found of the design. Doesn't quite fit right on my monitor and it tends to fall on the side whenever I handle it. The auto-focus bugs out alot, but the fact that It has auto-focus is a big plus.
These flaws are easy to forgive for what it has to offer.

For this price tag, it's probably the best buy. My friend was amazed when he saw me on Skype, he said the picture was so clear so i explained to him that it's because of the Carl Zeiss lens. I'm familiar with it because I used to own a Sony Digital camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and it takes clear, clean and sharp pictures. Definitely recommended.

I've owned many webcams over the years, but this is by far the best. I have one at work that I use for web conferencing, one at home, and just bought one for my daughter so we can use the new Logitech Vid software to see the grandkids.

I have had this product for over a year and during that time have run it under Windows XP and Windows Vista x64. I am very pleased with the performance of the webcam and it's ability to work within various (and challenging - Vista x64) operating systems. Although expensive, it has been a solid, consistent product and has provided, in my opinion, good value for money.

I purchased this webcam and it works perfectly. I am running Windows vista 64 bit for those of you who want to know. I have had no bluescreens or problems with it and would reccomend it to anyone. It has great picture quality and some awesome effects.

webcam worked (guess on XP drivers) for first 2 days
The first upgarde fro logitech (some 47MB) resulted in hardware crash and blue screen.

i am not sure how much i would have to pay to recover the lost data plus whole weekend in building the system
extremly disappointed to see a $100 product perform so bad.
