Very nice...but battery indicator problems

I've been using this pointer for my presentation for well over two years, and in general I like it a lot. But I do have one comment and one concern:
- The concern is that the low batter indicator has been going off all the time, even when I change batteries. And yes, this is with a different batch of batteries, from different receptionists in different cities, etc. It's dismaying to be 10 minutes into a preso and the low battery indicator is flashing in your hand! And yet, it seems to be making it through the presentations.
- The comment is that I'd like to see the difference between the advance and the laser be a little more obvious to our not-so-sensitive thumbs. I've watched other people use this pointer, and to a person they all have to look down at the thing to select the laser.

R800 is an EXCELLENT tool!

Really enjoy the simplicity of set-up and the ergonomic design. This is incredibly easy to use and with the timer, it keeps you on schedule.

Works perfectly with Mac and Office 2011

Works perfectly under Mac OS X 10.6.6 and Office 2011 for Mac. Start presentation, black screen, forward and backward... every function works as it should. Why Logitech doesn't recommend it for Mac users? they afraid something or they to much love Microsoft... ;-)
With Office 2008 just only start of presentation doesn't work.

Works for Mac OS X

The box of the product shows its compatible with windows only. Seeing some reviews that it may actually work with Mac, I decided to give it a try, and?
It works perfectly! I'm currently using Mac OS X with Microsoft Office 2011.
It is very well designed in terms of ergonomics, making it easy to use without looking at it.

Perfect! works with OSX & office 2011

I am a professional speaker and was looking to replace my old logitech presenter. Funny thing is that when all my colleagues used any other brand, somehow the remote failed on them. I tried the targus brand and wasted my money.
Now I decided to give the R800 a try. I used OSX/Office 2011 on one laptop & have Win7/office 2010 on another. Guys...believe it or not...it works flawlessly on both! I think it's just the way Microsoft maps the keyboard. I'm not sure it works the same on keynote or any other previous version of office.
I am not sure I like the rubberized feel of the remote, but I do think it would attract dirt easily. I think the play and blank screen function are too close to the forward and back buttons...they should be located above them, not below. I guess I'll get used to it. My first green laser! OMG this thing is bright. I never really used the timer because if you put your laptop in presenter mode there is a built in timer in powerpoint and keynote that displays on your laptop and not on the Main projector/screen.

Take control of the stage

My first use of presenters was a mouse. Then I advanced to a real presenter(not from Logitech) all share the same function (Red laser and changing slide) I was in hunger for a timer. First I used a timer in my computer,but sometimes I were in a place to give a talk with no presentation material . How can I manage my time efficiently (of course with practice).
With Logitech Professional Presenter R800 I became able to achieve that performance without worrying or checking the time because I get my alert without being notice or disturbed.

I recommend Logitech Professional Presenter R800 for these situations:
*Presentation with more than 50 people( Green Laser function)

*Ergonomic touch and simply easy to hold without noticing it.

Very good overall presenter

This was a gift from friends and is a very good presenter! The best part for me is that it works perfectly with Ubuntu OS which I use! No drivers needed, no messy installation!

Think twice before buying the new model

How is it possible that in the new presenter R800 they eliminated the volume adjuster that was there in the previous model. Each presenter using videos in the powerpoint knows that different videos have a different sound level. With the previous Logitech presenter I could adjust it from a distance. And in this R800 "improved" model it is not possible! I have spent 75 Euros for he new model. And now, I am still using the old model! So it was a waste of money.

Best presenter yet

This is my fourth presenter, and is by far the best. The green laser is great. I also love the vibrating alarm and countdown timer. Outstanding design--I don't have to worry about misplacing the receiver or carrying a USB cable. Great quality. This one is a keeper. The others are collecting dust in the basement. Could it be better? It would be great if the receiver had a memory that could hold the presentation.

Close to perfect

Surprisingly small - it fits perfectly into my hand. All the buttons are exactly where you want them. The vibrate notice is really great. The timer is easy to use. Not all presenters have on/off buttons or ones that are easy to use - this one is great.
What would make it perfect and 5 stars? A drive! Why didn't they include some storage on the usb stick? Then it would be truly perfect.
It also would be great to be able to change the size and shape (arrow/point) of the laser - but I can live without this. The laser is very pretty but most importantly, easy to see.

Very easy to use, no SW needed for power point presentation. Green Laser is the coolest thing to have. Love the green laser pointer.
I give 4 stars only on features because I am expecting something more innovative which includes some brilliant special features that no one has thought of putting them on a presenter!! I don't mind loading additional SW onto PC for the special features. Instead I see a refinement from previous model. But it is still good to have laser pointer and vibrator integrated into it. Got to admit vibrator works much better than LCD warning screen.
I give 4 stars only on performance because I am expecting better range. But I know it may be a violation of FCC radiation standard. Until someone came up with better reach range yet lower power to meet government required standard,......

R800 Review

This is a wonderful product. It great features at a great price. It is very intuitive to use and should require very little training for anyone who is going to use it. The best parts about it for me are the ergonomic design and the range. It functions wonderfully for me even though I'm 65+' away. I can still walk around on the stage and maintain control of my presentation. You just have to love that. To whomever is responsible for this, pat yourself/team on the back. This is a grand slam.

Works with Macs too!

I work for a "fruit company" and do ALOT of presentations. I really like green lasers as they are very bright and distinct. The few green laser products I have tried are a bit clumsy. I purchased the R800 to give it a go and it works great on my Macs. The "start preso" and "black screen" buttons only serve to drop you out of presentation mode in keynote, but everything else works great. The green laser is very bright and the ergonomics are the best I have used. I will be putting it through its paces with 5 major presentations over the next 2 weeks but I have great confidence that this will be my new "go to" device!
