We've got a fairly simple system, and the 650 works perfectly for it! Set up was a breeze, took about 5 minutes, and it's worked flawlessly. No complaints to speak of. I could make some suggestions, but Logitech seems to have incorporated all of my suggestions into the Harmony One. Great job Logitech!

We have 2 Harmony 650's and they work just fine. I will say that it takes about 5+ visits to the computer to work thru everything and to optimize performance. I did make a number of changes to the buttons and added features to the screen. You can also make changes to directly to any of your devices where you may have problems with input selection or power on/off. You do have to be persistent to get it right. If you are easily frustrated, get someone else to set it up. I enjoyed the challenge--and I am a 68 yr old granma type---really.

I would give this 0 stars if I could. This remote worked great for about 5 minutes then failed miserably. After that it would either reset the settings, forget the presets altogether, or just reset for no reason. I checked the battery connections and even reset the remote. It still refused to work properly.

This unit is not difficult to program, though would recommend using the downloaded application as opposed to the WEB only configuration. You gain additional options to choose from the app. Like length of backlight timeout… What brought me to this remote is probably the same reason for most people, reduce 4 or 5 remotes to one. It does a fantastic job for this. However, I do have one complaint and I see it has been listed and misidentified by some as just a reset. For me the reset occurs from the loose seating of the batteries. I have flexed the battery (-) connector out and put a folded piece of paper between the batteries and cover. This eliminated the bumping or setting down the remote causing a reset (removing batteries). I did see another post similar to mine with using foam to keep batteries in place. That is the way it should have came from the factory… I am having troubles separating quality from performance since these are tied together. I purchased this when they were $99 and now they have come way down in price from the same bigbox store. I don’t think I should have this issue and a makeshift fix for the price. I have my 650 for over a year now. Perhaps they have addressed this with the current product. Outside of this issue it is a great product for ME.

This remote has a fatal flaw related perhaps to its power connection to its batteries or perhaps its software but is a complete piece of garbage because of it.
Everytime I pick it up or put it down - EVERYTIME - I have to go through the setup menu and click through 8 intro screens before I can use it for anything.
Junk, complete junk. Logitech completely is aware of this problem.

After viewing other reviews about loose battery connections, I came up with a simple fix that works to solve that problem with Harmony 650. I have bent out the battery tangs slightly to tighten the battery in the case and on top of that I had cut two pieces of sponge foam ( 1/2"X1/2"X1") and double back taped the foam to the battery cover directly over the batteries to hold them securely in the battery case. After this simple fix I have had no further problems with reset or returning to Welcome screen. No matter how many time it has been dropped or bumped.

Setup was a snap for my simple remotes, but was painfully difficult for my home theater system. I have one button to select among external sources, a second button to select the iPod dock, and a Home button that goes to an on-screen menu for internal sources (DVD, SD Card, Netflix, etc). All of the 'one-touch activities' need a couple more keystrokes to get them right. Not the end of the world, but a bit disappointing that Logitech wasn't able to setup the defaults correctly.
The software download is much more configurable than the on-line myHarmony site, but the on-line site is more user-friendly. If you have anything complicated, don't bother with the on-line option.
Not a bad unit if it was priced at $30, but it is too difficult to debug for the full price of $99

Background: I had to get a new cable box and unfortunately Comcast didn't have codes for my home theater so I had to use multiple remotes. Fast forward months later the remote for the home theater broke, no replacements available.
I found this remote online for $49.99 and couldn't be happier with the purchase. Have my comcast box w/ dvr, home theater, tv, vcr, etc... all setup. Setup through the site took 15 minutes and that includes using the learn feature for some remote features such as MyDVR.
Take your time and follow the instruction and you should have no issues. Only complaint is that the package only contains the quick start guide, not the full user manual. Had to get that from logitech site. Downloaded it for future reference.

Got this just before Christmas and it worked great for a while. Was pleased with the features, but found the ergonomics weird -- small buttons, etc. Also getting to "day up" and "day down" for PVR Guide took a number of steps to be able to do. My Shaw Cable remote was way better for this. Now it won't work without repeated commands -- it keeps resetting itself and most of the time it won't control my PVR. Big fat waste of money. I better get a 100% refund.

Have owned a new Harmony remote every 3 yrs since they came out. I am so disapointed in this product. All of my components have previously worked fine so it is not the database but the remote. It can not operate the Activities, switch between Activities or remember what it was doing after being set down for more than 3 minutes. Every time we pick it up to change the volume or channel we are forced to go back through the tutorial! Despite "turning off" the tutorial it is always there again 3-5 min later....argh! I went and bought the old Harmony 880 off ebay and don't know what I will do when it is used up.

This is the most frustrating remote ever! This one makes me want to throw it at the TV. It constantly goes back to the Welcome screen. Which requires you go thought a mulitple step "learning" process which ends in you turning off the TV and cable. Then you have to restart everything. Don't buy this!

I bought this remote when we moved into our new house. I use it to control the following:
1- Yamaha RX-471 Surround Sound Receiver 2- Samsung Blue-Ray Player 3- HD DVR Cable Box (Time Warner Cable) 4- Roku XD 5- Android Music Player 6- Samsung 60'' Smart TV
One of the best thing about the remote is when you choose a function, watch tv, i have it set to turn on the TV, AV Receiver, and the DVR Cable Box.
Everything else remains off and doesn't consume power. Other presets leave devices off unless needed.

I saw this remote and had it in my hand but I set it back down and walked away,I had been kicking my self since.I read all the reviews when I got home and went back and purchased it.My wife was not so thrilled with another remote but after It was fully programed( rather easily) if your even a little techie, she was impressed you can click one button and it will turn every thing on and set all our components to watch a DVD lets say, or watch the satellite. Now she doesn't have to go to each remote and set up the DVD player and home theater to the right modes ,it's already done and to switch it back just a push of another button and Bang it's back! I love this remote!

I use to own a Harmony remote about 5 years ago. I recently moved and ended up buying the 650 to operate my Phillips TV, 360, blu-ray, and generic sound bar. Setup seemed simple enough. I liked how it had the model numbers already stored in the system. The set up for the generic sound bar wasn't that difficult and works like a charm. Now for the issues...It will turn everything on that it is suppose to. But, if I go from watching tv to anything else, it stops one selection short of the input EVERYTIME! It trys to 'fix' itself, but has yet to actually 'learn'. Second big issue...After playing the 360, I select to watch tv, it will not only stop one input short (as above), but turns the 360 on and off no less than twice with it finally leaving it on for some reason. I never had an issue with the older one I had (wish it hadn't been lost in the move). I will try this weekend to manually program each remote into it and see how that works. I am very disappointed. I would not reccommend the 650. And the by the way, the Phillips tv I have doesn't have that nuance that the FAQ's had.
