Best Tech Purchase Yet

Had a remote for speakers, tv, blu ray, and cable. Managing the volume or choosing the channel became a task that was cumbersome and annoying. Especially from my bed, 4 remotes took up the entire bed side table or I'd lose one if I set it down on the bed. Having 4 remotes on the coffee table took up the vast majority of it, making setting anything down on it impossible. With this bad boy those days are gone. The remote looks cool and the Watch TV button can be programmed to turn on all your devices with one button. The volume controls can be made so only your speakers are used no matter what mode you're in. Best purchase tech purchase I've made so far.

Great Remote, Great Price!

We purchased the 300 from Best Buy this afternoon. The online programming was quick and easy. You just connect to your computer with the included USB cable, go to the website and enter the make and model of your devices (TV, Cable, DVD, etc.). The reason we got the remote was because we were missing our original TV remote and recently added sound bar speakers that came with its own separate remote needed for controlling the volume. So this one remote does the job of four remotes for our cable box, TV, DVD and sound bar speakers. My wife loves it too since it has really simplified our TV usage. We were surprised (and excited) to find all of our devices are supported! And no more hunting for the right code number to use for each device. You can also customize the buttons as needed. The remote came with batteries and has a nice glossy black finish. Highly recommend.

This is perfect! after buying my Samsung 6000 LED TV, Samsung BluRay player, Samsung soundbar and time warner cable, i was tired of using different remotes. I had at least 4 (TV, Bluray, cable box and sound bar). I was using all of them for a little over a week when i couldn't take it anymore. I forgot about universal remotes and remembered best buy had some. Bought this one for $30, 5-10mins later i was using only 1 remote! **I HAVE A MACBOOK PRO AND THIS WORKS PERFECT - ZERO PROBLEMS**. I'm recomending this remote to anyone i see that has more than 1 remote. I was skeptical because heard of reviews my samsung soundbar won't sync with any universal remote other than the remote it came with. This synced with no problems. this is a MUST have!!! My only wish was to have back lit would be nice. Maybe sometime soon.

Finally I've found the prefect universal remote for me!
For 20$ I have a full function remote for my 20 years old Technics amp, for which i've lost the remote, for my tv and for my LG smartbox. Ease of use, installing and setting up took only 5 five minutes. Watch TV button...perfect. Set up to power off the devices and switches to the right input. There are a lot more products with more features, but for 20$ I have everything I need. Simply perfect!

Hardware part is ok. Remorte is solid and nice looking. But software is VERY BAD. Missing functionality and all that.
Remote is very slow. If you want it faster, you have to ask support, but it will be only bit faster then. Its not hardware limitation, its example of bad software/firmware.

I buy this to replace remotes for the TV and the XBOX360 (That we use as a Windows Media Extender for TV). And it works flawlessly!
The way to setup the remote via computer, is excellent, simple and very powerful!

great remote control

When I got this remote control I did not think I would be able to set it up so I got my brother to come help me. Once I saw how easy it was I jumped in and started doing it myself and had a real good time doing this, it is not really that hard. I wish the DVR controls was at the top and I wished that the okay button in the middle was larger than the arrow buttons are. Other than that this remote runs all my devices and I think it is great. Once I told my brother how much it was he went and bought one same day. Thank you Best Buy and Logitech

Univeral has come a long way!

I picked this thing up after my new Sony sound bar would'nt play nice with my Sony Bravia TV using HDMI control. I love the tv but a firmware issue made using two remotes a must, I had enough. Picked this up at Best Buy, programming was super easy and so was the customization. Now i control my cablebox, sound bar and tv with the push of as button! Well worth the $25 price tag, i even bought my dad one and he loves it. The only reasons behind a sub 5 star rating, black buttons on black remote make it tougher to see in low light, and you need a seperate add on to get the remote to control my Playstation 3 which i use as a DVD player. In the end though, having one remote for the tv, sound bar and cablebox, homerun!

Must have a very simple setup.

This remote is great if you only have a TV and cable box. You cannot setup on the harmony software like most of their other remotes so the customization options are VERY limited. You are stuck using the websites abbreviated version of the software. I would say its semi user friendly but won't allow you to make certain simple changes that the full software allows. All I wanted was a simple remote for an elderly customer which this remote might have worked fine but I needed to program a fail safe button to get her back to channel 3 if she accidently changed to another channel (which she does at least once a week). So in short, this remote is GREAT if you just want to turn the TV on and flip channels without using 2+ remotes.

MY ABILITY TO NOT ONLY DO THE BASIC SET UP BUT FIND UNUSED BUTTONS AN PROGRAM EXTRA COMANDS WAS MIND BLOWING FOR ME . MY WIFE KEPT WAITING FOR ME TO GO BALISTIC BECAUSE ON A SCALE OF 1-10 MY SKILL WITH A COMPUTER IS MABY 1.5. LOVE IT I HAVE BUILT IN ALL NESSARY COMMANDS FROM 4 REMOTES. I AM A 66 YR. OLD ONE REMOTE GUY AT LAST!!!!!!!!

I have a mac computer. Macs are easy to work with. Could not even start programing this remote even with the help of their tech desk. Bad engineering and bad product period. Stay away!!!!

I purchased this remote a year ago and I love it. Works excellent with all my devices including Verizon FIOS box. When I say works I mean it is fully functional unlike a lot fo other remotes I have encountered. Programming was simple the hardest part is actually finding the models of your devices. Once you have that plug it into your computer, create your account and you are on your way.
The only improvement I think that could make this a hit would be a backlit key pad. I use this in the bed room and the black on black remote is difficult to use in the dark.

Paid $25 and it actually worked! No other remotes would work for our RCA TV and so we had to get up to adjust the volume (or at least our kids did). They are LOVING the new remote. Very easy to program and matched RCA, Insigna, and DirecTV.

Didn't like set up had to take make to retailer to progam/ then it would operate my home theater like i was told it would. so I wasted that money and then ordered the originnal remote i needed on line which is what I should have done to start with but these salesman acted like they knew something go figure.

Great Features - Horrible layout

I purchased the Harmony 300 remote last November and was really impressed with the easy internet setup. My only complaint is the layout is hard to use by feel. All of the buttons feel the same and in dim light it is very hard to distinguish between the arrow buttons for fast forward and any other keys. It would be a great remote if the main buttons had a unique feel to them. Also backlight would be nice but more important is the feel. Directv remotes have a great way of using by feel, maybe Logitech could learn from them.
