I have had this headset for about a year now and have loved every second of owning them. They set well on my head and I have honestly worn them for hours at a time and forgotten about them. The sound quality is quite good, along with the mic quality. My only two gripes would be that the headphones will slide off your head if you lean over, and that can be quite annoying. Also, sometimes the USB just decides to reconnect for no reason, but that could be a problem on my end. In summation, great value, great headset.

Bought these for Skyping on Macs running 10.7 Lion. On-ear volume down does not work. Seem less than sturdy and will most likely be replacing these often.

The device is not quite what I had expected for that kind of money. While the sound quality is great, the comfort and ergonomy are a bit weak. Even stretched out to max, the set still feels tight on my head, which can be unpleasant after several hours. The earpieces are rigidly fixed to a large plastic headband and cannot pivot in any direction, which again results in lack of comfort. As for ergonomy, the on-ear controls are not a good idea. Not only can u inadvertently change the volume while readjusting the headset, but setting the volume voluntarily isn't practical as u have to press like 10 times on your ear to reach the desired output. This flaw can however be compensated if you have volume controls on your keyboard. Nevertheless, I miss the on-wire wheel of my former headset.

I believe I got these in around March 2011, and now is December 2011; they have gone through heavy use. The sound just went out on the left side today, but until now, the Logitech H530 headset has been a good purchase.
The on-ear volume control is great; when I first got these, I didn't think that I would have much use for the on-ear controls, but I use them all the time now.
As for the different sound settings on the on-ear controls, there are three: music, video chatting, and gaming. I know absolutely nothing about gaming, so I don't understand why you would need a sound setting for gaming, but here are the differences: the chat setting is quite normal, perhaps a bit better than what you would find on your computer's built-in speakers, and it's not terrible for music; the music setting boosts the bass a bit; and the gaming setting seems to have a bit more echo than the other settings.
The sound quality is quite crisp for a headset of this price. I've found that if I'm multi-tasking on my computer (e.g. listening to music on iTunes whilst recording something from my webcam), there are little blips in the sound, but apart from those times, the sound is great. I would recommend that you switch the sound setting depending on what you're listening to, but sometimes I can't tell the difference between the music setting and the chat setting, so it really depends on the quality of whatever music you have, or the quality of what you're listening to.
Ergonomically, I think it's quite good. It's a bit loose on my head, so sometimes if you tug on the wire a bit too hard, it can fall off easily, but I don't have a particularly large head. I also wear glasses and can put this headset on for relatively long periods of time without getting uncomfortable (1-2 hours, much better than a lot of other headsets). It also has quite a nice, clean look to it.
Overall, the strong points of this headset make up for its drawbacks, except for the fact that the sound went out in one ear after less than a year. I will probably continue to use them for a bit, anyway, just because they still work and I don't want to spend the money on another headset right now. But the H530 is, in my opinion, the best valued headset you can get at this attractive price point.

Bought this and used it once or twice the last three months. Set it aside and plugged in to use today on Skype and there was no microphone. My call went through and I could hear them but they couldn't hear me. tried multiple tests with best barely audible. Most Skype advised there was no audio. Rebooted computer and Mute light came on but would not go off. Unplugged and plugged in no mute light but still no sound. Checked all PC settings following you direction to no avail. Do not bu the H530.

Very comfortable, if only they worked. Used for only 2 months, then died. Plugged in one day and received the Windows message that the device did not install properly. Tried all the Forums advice, e.g. clean boot, different box, etc. Dead. On to a different brand.

The headset seems to be comfortable enough for hours of use, the speakers are everything you would expect from a headset in this price range. It was totally plug and play, also the cable is extremely long which for me was a huge plus, as i have a huge desk and my tower sits at the far end.
However my mic is so sensitive it picks up my mouse rolling across my mouse pad just as loud as it picks up my voice talking. i use my headset everyday for talking over the internet and this headset, even with the microphone control in windows set to 0 my CPU fan inside my computer case sounds like a jet engine to the point where people can barely hear me on the otherside... very disappointed im not sure if will be buying another logitech headset after this..

Great headset right off the bat. Plug and play feature is great, no drivers to install. High durability. I got this headset after my cat destroyed my $250 G-35 surround sound headset, just by knocking it off the desk. So far its been down 3 flights of stairs, sat on, mauled by the cat and still looks like the day I bought it. The mic is abit sensitive so after some mic volume adjustments it was fine. I'm an avid gamer, used every day on Ventrilo so far and one of the best headsets I've ever owned. Thank you Logitech

When it comes to sound quality for listening purposes, it's amazing. It's also very easy to use, nothing to download and install. What I hate about it is the mic. It says on the packaging that it has a noise canceling microphone, but on contraire, it's ultra hyper sensitive. Every bit of sound around you can be heard through the microphone. Clicking to adjust the volume of the headset, footsteps, neighbor's dog barking, chair movement, low volume tv, ---everything can be heard! Even noises outside your window, even faint noises way outside your house. It's not recommendable for work from home calling type of jobs because even if your room is noise free, subtle chair movements, lighting up a cigarette, putting down a cup of coffee can make your room seem like the noisiest work space ever!

Bought the headset for home based job. Mic is too sensitive and noise cancelling feature doesn't seem to work.
At volume level two they can hear my wife speak in the other room and the ceiling fan.
not working quite as well as I expected... they will probably be used as headphone for video games but not for video conferencing.

Stay away from this headset. The headset is comfortable but It only last about 2 months. I have like 20 of these in my office and all of a sudden the microphone stops working without a reason. The red mute light on the microphone burns out to easy and you can't tell if the mute is on or not.

I don't know why some people have problems with it , but I love it. It's the best headset I've used. I've had it for 2+ years now.
It has dropped on floor , stepped on , smashed against floor , smashed against few other things [ Anger issues sometimes ] And it is still working like the first day.
I recommend it to anyone who want to buy All-Round headset. Great for skype , music , gaming , movies.

I worked for a telemarketing company and this headset was what everyone working there had. They deducted $20 from our pay for these headsets. It worked fine for about the 4 weeks i worked there and I finally quit the job took this headset home and used it for vent/gaming for about another 2 weeks. And just yesterday the right earpiece went out. No noise whatsoever comes out of the right ear now. I really wish that a headset would last longer then a month and a half. Even though I only paid $20 for these, i still wish i hadnt purchased them....

completely broken
PROS: great sound quality, awesome voice recognition, works very well with Rosetta Stone
CONS: price is absolutely ridiculous for the quality, literally broke within a few days of moderate use
I bought this headset to use with Rosetta Stone since all other headsets I tried did not recognize my voice well at all. This headset solved that problem - it worked perfectly and took literally no time to set up. I was a little nervous about spending so much money on such a simple piece of technology, but the reviews here reassured me that it was a good buy. Unfortunately, I should have gone with my gut and bought a different headset because mine snapped in THREE different places within a week of purchasing. I had the headset in my netbook's bag, in which they were secured and safe - or so I thought. I did not drop the bag or put them through any stress or really move them at all, but they broke! The plastic snapped in several places and now they are literally unwearable. The only possible cause I can think of is that the weight of my netbook (less than 2 pounds) was enough to crack the plastic. Regardless of how they broke while I SIMPLY CARRIED THEM DOWN THE STREET, I am 100% unsatisfied with this purchase.
I STRONGLY recommend not buying this headset, unless you plan on putting it on a pedestal and treating it with EXTREME care when you touch it. Completely flimsy and terribly made - do not waste your money!!

Very comfortable and excellent quality. Neither Logitech's feature list nor the external packaging mentions that there's mute button indicator light in the tip of the microphone. It's an improvement over having to check for the light on cord controls and a brilliant idea since the controls are now on the right earpiece. If I hadn't discovered this via Google search I would have bought last year's 981-000014 model with cord controls for the same price.
