If you are looking for a Toy to play with, then you might be happy with this system. However, if you are looking for a serious Surveillance system to protect your property (not a fancy web cam) then this system has way too many flaws and missing features. The outdoor cameras themselves look and feel to be good quality (only time will confirm that), but the software is a joke. The cameras record motion, however they seem to be configured to be more concerned with storage, and less concerned with recording footage (which is what most folks purchasing a Surveillance system are purchasing it for). As a result, what winds up happening most of the time, is you get *partial* recordings of events. I have tried all different sensitivity settings, and other recording options, but the result is always the same. There is also no manual record option, nor a scheduled record option. This issue could probably be fixed with a software update, but Logitech does not seem serious about this product, and the rate of improvements and feature enhancements is at a snails pace at best (the only improvement I've seen since my purchase, is they finally changed which frame of the recording is sent in an email, so that the email actually contained some relevant information).

The cameras themselves are much better then the older WiLife cameras, but the software is pathetic. The cameras do not record enough. They always fall short of recording an entire event, thus worthless as a security camera, and extremely fustrating. Seems like something that would be very easy to fix ... just increase the amound of time the camera records when it detects movement. Allow the user to adjust this timer to their preference. Also, there is no manual record feature. Not sure what happened when Logitech purchased WiLife, but many of these features, and more, were available in the old WiLife software.

bought the 3 camera outdoor special they had. I was skeptical about the system due to the data over AC line design. Im an electrical engineer and I designed a simular sytem many years ago for a company but we could not get good enough performance due to long AC runs in buildings and getting a good signal across different phases of the power lines.
I have a remote shed about 100 ft away from my house that I wanted to mount one of the cameras. I got lucky that it was on the same phase as the reciever is on. I ran the AC signal check and it showed 2-3 signal level (very low) but the camera works just fine. I also put a camera on the back of the house on a different AC phase. This camera had no signal so getting this system to work over different AC phases is difficult. So I rerouted power to an outlet on the same phase (all worked well after that). Another option that I did not try is to install a phase bridge across the mains of your house. They do not offer an option for this so your only options are to reroute power or put the camera on wired or wireless network (which can be done but you need to get a POE network interface)
I got all three cameras running and they work great. The video quality is very good, much better than my $1000 PTZ security camera I currently have. The wide angle lens is perfect and the infrared vision is very good to. I run the video on my Iphone, again great results.
Motion detection: Can't seem to reduce the sensitivity and it trips on anything, no matter where I draw the detection box too. But then again I limit the HD space and it over writes the older files. Actually its kind of nice to see anything that moved. So this is one reason I would never want emails everytime it gets a motion alarm. They would never stop. Spiders making a web in front of the camera sets it off every time.
The software is great. So easy to use, make changes and play back clips. It really cant get much easier. My $1000 PTZ camera software has more features but its soooooo hard to use you almost have to read the manual anytime you have to make changes. So good job Logitech on the software.
Overall its a great system and Im going to order more outdoor cameras. The install was quick and easy, hardward is well thought out and the software is easy to use. (and I spent 15 years designing security sytems including video systems).

OK, I'll come clean up front: I didn't buy my 750e, and had I been presented with it in the store I would have harrumphed and moved on. What use is this? I would have thought.
I received this as a gift and set to installing it. My wife thought it would be a great way to monitor our driveway and dog run in our rural escape, and I set it up for that purpose.
Other than a few minutes on a ladder to put the camera up, there was no effort involved. The equipment, like everything I have ever bought from Logitech, is very well made and presented.
Everything you need is included: the power cable and block for the camera, screws to mount the camera and guides for the cabling. The Network adaptor simply plugs into a standard wall outlet in your house, and the camera is plugged in outside. Open the software, and hey presto, you have candid camera!
The picture quality was excellent, and you can zoom in and move the locus around. At night, it switches to infra red or something equally night vision friendly, and shows you a clear picture (although in shades of grey)
That was cool enough, but soon I found I could have the camera email me if it detected movement, and store video on my computer, as well as internally. I can also look at my dogs through the camera remotely, either on my PC or with my iPad through a dedicated App.
THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT: quality equipment, easy installation and a useful tool for all kinds of tasks.
my only quibble, if there is one, is that the external camera is plugged in, and presumably an evildoer could simply unplug it to preclude its operation. I set mine up so that they would have to be in the picture before they did that, but it could be an issue for some security set ups.

I was able to get the software loaded on my laptop and the 2 cameras initially setup in a little over an hour. Once done a firmware update was also required for each camera. I currently have one outdoor camera and one indoor camera. I wish the indoor camera came with a longer network cable. Created problems with where I could use it based on available plug locations in the room.
Making basic setting changes was pretty simple as well as setting up motion alert bands in a room on the doorways. So far my dog can roam the room and not trip any motion alerts on the indoor camera.
Bacause of some problems in my front yard I have not permanently installed the outdoor camera yet. It is currently mounted on a small tripod and hidden in the shrubs in my front yard with the goal of catching the perp that likes to drive through my front yard at night.
An improved feature for the Commander software would be to be able to set motion alerts to turn on or off during your normal work times and times home. Having a 5 day schedule during the week and a normal weekend schedule would be great. Think programmable thermostat type schedule. A simple click for vacation mode would leave it on all the time when you are away for a weekend or vacation.

Live video and stll alerts work ok. The stills are highly compressed to less than 50 kB so quality suffers. Playback worked well with the free trial, but after paying $80., and wasting an hour or two I sill cannot get it back.
The camera hardware looks to be of high quality. The software contains hidden buttons- thanks guys. You have to know where to tap before they appear. Goofy.

I have been wanting to put up a security camera for about 2 years and have looked at many systems. Finally decided on the 750e system because of the Logitech name. We are extremely pleased with the system. Extremely easy to set up. However, wish that the kit came with a longer cord for the camera--25 feet would have been perfect length. The picture resolution during day and night is fantastic! I only wish that the bugs didn't fly in front of the camera at night. The only thing that took any time at all to install was the camera, but once it was installed, it connected right away. Love the fact that there are no cords from the cameras to the unit. Would definitely recommend this product to a friend.

This is an exceptional product and the ease of installation and the price is by far its best feature. That being said I believe that manipulating the outdoor camera from a remote location makes it a little too restrictive. I think that offering the additional manipulative features through an expensive "premium service" add-on is the one downside of this great product. Figuring out a way to make this feature cheaper or more accessible to remote viewers should be a priority. That being said we still think this camera is the best bang for your buck.

.I bought this camera system hoping that it would work on my mac but it don't oh it says it will but what they don’t say is you can only view it on a mac just like you can on a web browser this is 1 big disappointment, 2nd. you can't set times to go into a more of a motion detection state like set it to go to 100% from 9pm-6am and 50% the other times due to animals and birds as well as the ability to set the camrea to record longer if motion sets it off. 3rd. the two red glowing eyes that say here I am the camera you need to disable before steeling anything, this are things that I hope can be addressed and fixed by a software update then it would be awesome.

This is a Great Product! Some people are making complaints, but I think those complaints are because they did not upgrade there software and didn't read the user manual. My advice is the software that come with Logitech Master system don't use it! Instead go to there website and download the lastest software. This will get rid of most of your problems, Also Read the Help Manual. There are a lot of adjustment that can be made to this device. It took me under 10 mins to setup and to get it to working. One thing I would say is that it needs to add a time recording feature so you can recorder only at different times of the day. Enjoy

I was very pleased and surprised to have received a very nice message from the product manager! He left his phone number, I called him but he was in a loud room so he changed his location and called me back. We discussed my observations and suggestions and he informed me that several of them were identified just after the first of this year and are already being addressed as I write this review. The product manager is very committed to the continual improvement of the customer service, firmware, hardware, software, smartphone and web interfaces. He and his team take customer feedback and service very seriously and implement improvements ASAP.
I HIGHLY recommend adding the two low cost optional premium services (Logitech Alert Mobile Commander and Logitech Alert Web Commander) which move the system from being 'just' great, to becoming FANTASTIC by adding many useful features! You can see a comparison of these premium services on their website. Each service is a great value for just $79.95 per year!
For security purposes, I also highly recommend logging onto the Logitech Alert Web Commander using https instead of http, wherever possible.
The product manager is looking into two small observations I've made, 1) there is sometimes a little MMS latency and 2) the field of view appears to be less than 132 degrees. He says he will get back with me after he receives a response from engineering.
Just go ahead and BUY THIS SYSTEM!

Fair value. Solid hardware. Industry standards! (Is a regular IP camera using RTSP). Can use the Homeplug networking hardware that it comes with for other devices.
Very simple to set up and use.
Needs many more features in the software to be indispensable. I'm looking for 3rd party software for capture and motion detection (no alerts on custom zones, just the whole image).
CAN'T USE IN NIGHT MODE WHERE YOU WANT TO BE SURREPTITIOUS! There are two LEDs you can't turn off that gives away the location of the camera at night. No options to turn these off. I hacked this with a little Gorilla tape (black, thick tape).

The initial 750e got nuked by the automatic, initial firmware update. I returned it and got a new one which has been amazing. The camera quality physical and imaging is pretty good. Easy to setup, and maintain. The commander software has a lot of needed features, and also some existing features to be made better but overall its not bad and does the job. As always logitech's support is amazing, and one of the main reasons I own many logitech products along with the quality of their devices.

recommend this to anyone, easy to set up and the software works great. i can log in from my house and see the business anytime. my only complaint.... the alert system cannot be turned off during working hours. I am getting emails during business hours. this should be a simple fix, i don't know why they overlooked it! I wouldn't be suprised if we get a software update soon.
