Works with Macs.... mostly ;^)
Date:April 29, 2013
I use Logitech keyboards and mice on Macs to include this MK520 combo. This works right out of the box and the unifying feature seems to work fine, too. But the Control Center software has never worked for me on a 'PC' keyboard. That's mostly OK because the Mac's Keyboard Preference pane let's me do most of the setup changes I need. I say most only because I haven't tried or thought of everything I could possibly want it to do, so there may be some things not possible. But between Keyboard options and Keyboard and Application Shortcuts,I can't imagine anything I can't configure. There is a 'Show Keyboard and Character Views' in the preference pane that shows what keys / buttons are recognized and what you can map shortcuts to. You can also switch around the modifier keys (i.e., Option and Command/Apple keys) so they are in the right place.... they just won't have the correct symbol on the actual key unless you label it naturally. The travel in key-press depth is in between the deep travel for Dell keyboards and the shallow travel on the Mac keyboards (not talking about laptop keyboards). Anyway, if you get this or any other PC keyboard for a Mac, press all the buttons to include the PC 'function' button with the alternate function key so you can see what it does first without making modifications in the Keyboard Preference Pane. Once you understand the default behavior, then go make your desired modifications. Oh - and the mouse works fine too.

Good and bad

After purchasing this keyboard and mouse combo, I was very happy about the unifying usb. Using this key board is nice. It feels right and makes it easy to type. However, after using this for gaming and typing up documents it has been extremely annoying. I just bought this keyboard about 3 weeks ago and now it will lag and sometimes just not type what I'm trying to type. This is very disappointing, especially in games where you have to move around. I read other reviews on similar keyboards and many people are having the same problem. This would be a really nice keyboard if it wasn't for the fact that it started having problems 3 weeks old. I always liked Logitech products and they always have been really reliable. Now I'm really starting to doubt them. In my opinion do not buy the k series keyboards.

Great Combo - 1 flaw
Date:March 21, 2013
I love the feel and look of this keyboard. Not having wires dangling under my desk is a blessing since my dog frequently lies there.
Installation was a breeze. Lots of shortcut keys available if you use them.
The only drawback, and in my opinion it's a big one, there is no indicator light for the Num lock key. Granted with the software pressing the key gives you an indication on the screen if it's on or off, but I shouldn't have to press the key only to find out that it was on the whole time.

Love it, but letters wear off
Date:March 14, 2013
I love this keyboard, but I have had it less that 3 months and some of the letters are wearing off. I don't type with greasy fingers, so I don't know what the problem is. Other than that, it's great. I can't find a keyboard skin cover for it any where.

Love this!
Date:February 4, 2013
I work from home and although I do spend most of my working hours inside my home office, I do occasionally like to work outside. I quickly got tired of unplugging and replugging in my wired keyboard. Not only is this keyboard perfect for moving around the house, but I lovethat my mouse works too, without having to sacrifice more than one usb plug. The keys feel so nice to my fingers and it was great being able to customize the F keys. I do with I was able to use the pause, play and skip buttons for a different media player, as I always use my pandora desktop application for my music. Also, I have been looking everywhere for a keyboard skin so that my keyboard will stay clean, without any luck. Logitech, please start distributing these!!

Inconsistent
Date:February 1, 2013
Don't get me wrong, I love the freedom and the feel of this keyboard/mouse combo when it works. The mouse works great (no RF interference), but the keyboard hangs and the SetPoint software crashes displaying an unrecoverable error message after 20 minutes, disabling the hot keys and sometimes the whole keyboard. The system drivers and OS (XPSP3) are updated daily, antivirus twice daily. I've uninstalled & reinstalled Setpoint a dozen times, cleaned the registry, logged system processes, and can't seem to find any consistent pattern. As a primary input device, it should be rock solid .

Left Control failed in about a year
Date:January 26, 2013
I bought Mk520 combo to replace my previous Logitech combo. In about 6 months, I stated to notice that left Ctrl key would not return up when pressed. Accidentally a stuck Control would result in funny situations, especially when typing fast. Never lost my work or suffered any other comparable damage, but finding myself in an avalanche of dialogs and menus was, to put it mildly, annoying. The further on, the more often Ctrl would stay pressed. I blamed dust under the keys, took a few keys out and cleaned the keyboard around the offending Control to original purity. No difference. My guess is the low price point is offset by cheap rubber layer that gives way after a while. Ah well. Put Mk520 off and got Mk700 instead. Same Unified transceiver. So far, better experience.

Good keyboard, poor mouse
Date:January 13, 2013
Before I bought this set, I tried many other Logitech (and other brands) keyboards. I chose this one because of good balance between the number of additional functions and compactness. And for the feel of the keys.
Overall experience is good, except for the awkward mouse. Keyboard seems a class over the mouse, or more. I simply got rid of the rodent after a day of pain. See other reviews for details.
If you look at the keyboard alone, the main fault for me, (which I - honestly - overlooked) is the additional left "\" key between left Shift and "z". It is a disaster: I press it instead of Shift making constant typos. And I find no purpose for this key at all (maybe for Win programmers?). And it cannot be locked via SetPoint soft. Such experiments in kb layout are risky.
Note that you have no LEDs for NumLock and CapsLock on the keyboard, what is confusing.
Function (Fn) keys are in turn perfect: task switching in Win7 at least works well, you have control over windows and many other things. They work far better than expected.
SetPoint software is a good companion to the keyboard. Worth exploring.
Wireless works flawlessly: no delays even on wake-up. Well done.
Bottom line: good, but I wouldn't buy it again, after I tried the mouse. You can get a better keyboard for the price of the combo.

k520 on my win7 machine dual display, i7, 8GBRAM, dumb desk
when using my linux machine its flawless. however, when using my windows 7 pro x64 machine (i7, 8GB RAM),the keyboard will lose connectivity, for up to 120 seconds, (usually 30 seconds) which feels like the pc is frozen (except the mouse works)...this is VERY annoying.
the Mouse wheel squeeks, and sounds like it needs oil, and the clicks are very loud (why ? why are mouse clicks so annoyingly loud, they can be silent)...same with the keystrikes...they are too loud for this day and age, and for what we pay for the layout, i think an ultra quiet k+m would be happily received by consumers

The keyboard is great. The keys are quiet and easy to use. I like the ability to raise the keyboard up. I wish the DELETE button was bigger but I assume that I will adjust! ANYONE can set the combo up - great directions! The mouse is a nice size for my small hand. The only thing that I wish the mouse had was a better scroll. My old mouse would zoom up with a quick flick of the finger and this one needs ALOT of scrolling to get the cursor to the top.

As expected, the Logitech brand delivers a reliable, comfortable, and practical product. I use this as an extension to my laptop where I use an HDTV output to my LCD Panel TV to surf the Net, email, videos, etc. from my laptop to my sofa. The mouse is so responsive I simply use my leather sofa as my mousepad and my keyboard sits on my lap. Great product!

Very Good Purchase
Date:October 14, 2012
Had this for around a year, still not had to replace the battery in my keyboard, the mouse i have once, which is rather insane because a year on a single-not very efficient battery is EXCELLENT.
I would recommend it, i do gaming with it and for it not to be gaming gear it works wonderfully. Small. VERY minute amount of delay(Feels like 2 Milliseconds). No complaints.

Not the best.
Date:September 10, 2012
If you type a lot or game, do not get this combo. The mouse wheel on the mouse seems to move very slowly upward (I've bought this twice to see if it was just my first) and the keyboard gets horrific latency. At times, they keyboard doesn't recognize the input until 15 seconds later. The latency tends to happen when you're doing something that is taking a toll on the computer, ie. gaming, watching videos, etc.
The features aren't too bad, simple function keys for homepage, forward, back, email, iTunes/Windows Media Player, and even a calculator button.
Overall, this keyboard doesn't fit my style. Also, those aren't LED's on the sides, trust me.
