I've used Logitech trackballs all my life, with Photoshop, After Effect, Illustrator, programs where you need precision and a steady hand. The trackman and all its predecessors were great but I'll eat this one if an ergonomist has approved this! You need to press the left click with the side of your index instead of the tip, the right click is positioned too far down which makes it even worse, and the ball locates under the joints of your thumb instead of the tip. To top it all, the whole thing is too small and the sum of it makes it impossible to find any kinf of comfortable position for your hand. Features and performance are as good as any other Logitech mouse, but the awful ergonomics suffice to ruin it completely. Please, Logitech, you were so good at this, please get it right for the next model!..

This Trackball is AWFUL ! My thumb tingles, but worse, you can't even CUT, COPY OR PASTE WITH IT ! WHAT KIND OF JOKE IS THIS. THIS WAS NOT A CHEAP TRACK BALL NEITHER. DOES SOMEONE KNOW HOW TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM BEFORE I DECIDE TO SEND IT BACK?

I got this mouse well over a year ago. I use it for gaming purposes along with the G15 gaming pad. Its functioned and served me well. just a few things I would like to see to make it the ultimate gaming tool.
the lil 4th and 5th buttons are too stiff/ hard to press. my 5th button is virtally not useable.
Also I wish they put a button for the ring finger so there would be 6 mouse buttons (besides the scroll wheel) the two left of the index finger, the one under the index finger, the scroll button, the one under the middle finger and one under the ring finger.

I, like so many others here, am a loyal trackman user and I still love this one as much as the others.
Having said this, I am still baffled by the universal receiver concept. This is exactly why bluetooth was invented - to eliminate the need for thousands of wireless receivers.
If bluetooth was some foreign, brand new, not widely accepted standard, I'd understand the desire to stick to the universal receiver but come on guys. This is an industry standard connection and has been for years that is widely accepted and easy to use. Like so many other complaints I've read here and on other forums, I'm now eating up 1 of my 2 USB ports for an unnecessary adapter for a device that could very easily be bluetooth.

I purchased this because I just bought a laptop and since we have a trackball on our other PC, I thought this one should be a piece of cake. The one on our PC has the red trackball in the top of the mouse. I like to use it to play games but on the wireless trackball, it's more difficult to use.

This trackball is the best. I've used 3 iterations of this family of trackball (the original wired one, the cordless mouse receiver one, and now this). The ONLY thing I want is to have a bluetooth version. The unifying receiver is a nice concept, but I don't see a future in it. Most computers these days are laptops, and have very few USB ports available, so this receiver takes up one port, leaving 1 for everything else. Most laptops have bluetooth built in. Why not just make a bluetooth version and free up the USB port?

This trackball is awesome, but I need a wired USB version. I cant stand wireless mice. The battery running out eventually, waiting for the wireless to connect, and the inevitable micro lag time introduced from all wireless devices are the problems that all go away with a wired USB device. So please Logitech, create an exact copy of this trackball in a wired version. If you want, make it like the xbox 360 game controller that lets you plug into the USB port to control and charge at the same time. At least that way, we have a choice to be wired or wireless and are not forced into just wireless.
Logitech is the best in the industry. I have been using the Trackman trackballs since the 1990s for everything from gaming to Photoshop, Flash, 3D and web design. Every computer in my home and office have the last version of the wired Trackman Marble mouse.
Thank you!

This is the easiest to use thing I have ever operated. It took a day to get use to and now I use it for everything. The only thing is with use gunk gets stuck in it so you have to pop out the ball and scrape off the little wheels underneath it.

Pros: Simply put, nothing is better and couldn't be more happy. No one uses my computer because the mouse scares them, so idon't have people playing with my computer when they shouldn't.
Cons: If some one esle has to use my mouse for something, they have a hard time navgating with the mouse. There was a red plate missing over the optic but has not hindered the mouse in anyway. I am afraid that the optic is going to fail because of dirt. Have to clean the riders and ball often. But if thats all i have to do to have the best mouse in the world then i am cool with that!!!

I originally bought this mouse because I wanted a mouse to use in tight spaces. My work space was full of clutter and wired laser mice just weren't cutting it. I found this mouse and was skeptical at first, but after a week of getting used to using a trackball again, I absolutely loved it.
I have had this mouse for over a year and I am still on the original battery. I have had a spare battery sitting and waiting for the past 5 months. According to the features page when I first bought the mouse it said that the battery would last 8 months. Well it's been 13 months since I received the mouse and I haven't changed the battery yet. No other wireless mouse I have had has lasted more than one month. This is by far the most economical mouse I've ever had.
Pros: Good for tight work spaces, easy on the hands, good work for improving thumb mobility.

I've owned and used the same trackball for over 5 years (Cordless Trackman Wheel).
I bought a new computer and needed another trackball. I decided on the M570.
It fits my hand well, like the older Trackman.
The trackball had too much friction so I removed it, waxed it with a car wax and reinserted it. It moves very smooth now.
I like the quieter scroll wheel and the addition of 2 more buttons.
I used the software program to fine tune to my likings.
I enjoy the two new buttons.
I am able to easily switch between the two trackballs when using both computers together.
I recommend this trackball to anybody needing one!

I LOVE the Trackman Optical but after it died I moved on to laptops so I had a the touch pad. After years with that with that laptop, I have a new laptop but wanted to break free from typing on the laptop so I purchased the Logitech Wireless Solar keyboard K750. It has a nice build quality and I really like it. I then needed a mouse but it drives me crazy dragging it here and there. There isn't a great touchpad so that was out, so I decided on a trackball. I was hoping the Trackman would be part of the unifying family but it's not and I didn't want two receivers. I purchased the M570. It looks nice, and very good build quality and it worked fairly fast once connected BUT..... it's a little too sensitive. I have it at the second to the last slowest setting and it's a little too hard to track and try working that ball with your thumb! It doesn't come off naturally, it's very awkward maneuvering with your thumb as opposed to your index finger which just feels more intuitive. Scrolling through web pages was very easy and works very well with this trackball.
Pros: very good looking, very good build quality, unifying, very good web surfing experience
Cons: a little hiccup trying to set it up, having your thumb moving the ball instead of your index finger, too sensitive

I owned the same trackball for 5+ YEARS and it finally gave in and died on me. I was worried I wouldn't find another when low and behold, I found the M570. It feels just like my other one with the exception of the forward and back buttons, which I love! I would recommend this mouse to anyone looking for a quality mouse. Once you get used to using your thumb to move the cursor, you'll never want to use another mouse.

My husband and I both use this trackball and really love them! We always keep a lookout for good prices on them and buy spares when we can because they do seem to wear out. That's probably is due to the fact that we use ours almost all day most days, and we do have a tendency to drop them. This one iis very comfortable to use and I even buy one to use with my computer at work!
We tried the other model trackballs that have the ball controlled by index or middle fingers, and discovered that the motion aggravated arm/hand discomfort. This one has the ball controlled by the thumb is more comfortable to use!

I just opened the trackball and installed it with no issues. It seems to be of high quality and all functions are flawless. The ergonomics are well suited for the average hand like mine. The trackball placed for thumb use is not an issue as mine previous corded Logitech trackball was the same design. The only possible downside is that the sensor area in the body does not have a protective cover and may be subject to dust contamination. Logitech tech support said that compressed air wouyld address this issue if it arises. I would highly recommend this trackball.

I've been a fan of trackballs and needed a new one. I did some research and wanted to find one that was both smooth and easy to clean (for me, the trackball studs get gummed up and need frequent cleaning). I purchased this trackball as it had a simple design that allowed the trackball to be easily removed for cleaning - great design and works great. Unfortunately, the smooth fluid motion I was expecting wasn't quite to the level I'd like, but overall it's still smooth enough. I like the scoll wheel as well.

It is a great trackball. It needs hyper scrolling though. I also miss the shape of the TrackMan Wheel. This is a little shorter, putting strain on my Carpal having to reach back for the scroll wheel.
A hyperscroll modification needs to occur, though. There is a high propensity to 'scroll' when you're trying to push the center button. (note: This doesn't happen on this model, only models WITH hyperscrolling). If hyperscrolling is added to this model, this needs to be fixed.

I loved my wired trackman. I wanted a wireless version. I'm not crazy about controlling the ball with my thumb. A bigger ball would be nice so you get more travel with the pointer. Make a wireless version of the wired one. This once is nice. I just liked the other better.

I have used track balls forever, and logitechs mainly
I was heart broken the first time i found i couldn't replace one, and now we have this one... wireless - was concerned regarding battery usage - but so far had it a long time and never shut it off and haven't replaced them once in this last year.
the only point is the rubber on the bottom - wished it was more secure or they had replacements.
thanks to a hand injury this has been the only thing i can sit and use all day - so dont knock this till u try it ever!
