Great ergonomic trackball--even for gaming

Date:March 26, 2013
I use this trackball both at work and at home. It has done wonders to relieve wrist pain. I am even able to use it for gaming (after about of month of practice). I highly recommend this trackball and encourage people to be patient while learning how to use it. It might take a month to become super efficient with it, but you should be able to be to get there if you put your mind to it.

WHY USE A WIRELESS TRACKBALL ON DESK COMPUTER?

Date:March 24, 2013
This is why. clutered desk, able to shift pasitions easier, my TV doubles as monitor and I can watch DVD'S sitting back and still controll sound and such. ofcorse not the TV it's self but it makes me happy.
As others, I have had several wired track balls and one wireless keyboard and mouse not to mention a multitude of $5.00 agrivating mice. Gave up KB and mouse for another Trackball then traded it for this wireless M570 for more freedom as I stated above.
No setup disc. Setup took 15 seconds (not including update) and it found it's updates imediatly. So far, it seems to be playing nice with my Microsoft key board and software.
If it wasn't for Logitech Trackball, learning orginization would be my only alternative.

M570 is GREAT but....

Date:March 23, 2013
the left click button tends to stay down after a few hundred hours of use.
I tend to click and hold ALOT so I can kind of understand.
It would be nice if a minor redesign would alter the lever design of the buttons to put the actual contact forward

It's Logically the BEST!

Date:March 20, 2013
There is NOTHING like Logitech devices! I purchased my first Logitech device in the early 1990s when I started building desktop PCs. I believe the wired (pre USB) red trackball device was the Trackman, and it was AWESOME! That was 75% of the reason I purchased this one! I plugged in the mini-dongle, turned on the power to the wireless device, even without the original docs, and BOOM! It was ON! I even used it on my iMac briefly until my Logitech TrackPad came in! This device has the additional back/forward button on it which makes going to the Launchpad on a Mac completely simple! 5 Gold Stars, Logitech!

Great Trackball

Date:March 16, 2013
Since the first trackman trackball I've owned 3 of those and they were wired and awesome. This is even better. I love that there is no wire, gaming is awesome and battery life is over one year on my first one and now one year on my wifes PC. AWESOME!!

WHAT IS THE POINT OF A WIRELESS TRACBALL? USE WIRE

Date:March 10, 2013
BRING BACK THE OLD WIRED TRACKBALL!!!!!!!!
If this is used for gaming or any sort of non traveling computer why not just keep the wire!! I like the extra buttons though.

Logitech Trackballs

Date:March 9, 2013
This is my first trackball mouse, the things I really like about it most is the Unifying pairing of this mouse with the other USB device I already own "Logitech K360 keyboard" both the Mouse & Keyboard come with a USB transmitter but there is no need to use both you can sync them all to one transmitter which is nice and allows you to save USB space..
The other things I like about this mouse is it works well, the trackball is really precise once you set up the settings in the Set Point tool.. Great mouse for the money and a very cool trackball. Feels great in your hand too and batter life is awesome..

Returned It Yesterday...

Date:March 4, 2013
So, I bought this mouse over the (past) weekend, I couldn't wait to try it out. What I liked about it was the pairing capability with the unifying receiver. I also liked the smaller trackball, I have currently been using an old Kensington Orbit Optical Trackball- I love that thing. Here come the cons; first of all it took me a few days to realize I couldn't find a comfortable angle, because the trackball is on one side as opposed to on top it took a while to coordinate my movements- the clickers were a little too squashed together, trying to use the scroll wheel in that regard was a bit tricky, I also didn't like haveing the back and forward buttons so high, they're a bit of an obstruction (for me). I just couldn't get it to work for me- so I returned it and kept my Orbit instead. An Orbit-like mouse with pairing capability would work for me perfectly... Please.

bring back the wired version!

Date:March 4, 2013
wireless is an nice occasional option but for an everyday setup on a computer, for gaming when response time is important or when fine movement is necessary, wireless is not ideal. the design overall is great, but the wired redball version is just smoother, the ball even sits better in its holster. I have the wired and wireless, and my wired one sees much much more use. but, it's getting a lil worn down. please, for the love of ergonomics, bring back the redball wired version!
i'll buy 20 the first day, 10 for me and 10 to pass out to friends and spread the word. there's no way i can go back to using a regular mouse! how can you discontinue a perfect product like that?
I've never found a better overall mouse for everything that can be done on a pc.

Works fine but ergonimics are pretty bad

Date:February 28, 2013
I prefer thumb trackballs over mice. I've used Logitech trackballs for more than 15 years. Unfortunately, the M570 is the best one currently available. I say that is unfortunate because while the M570 works fine, its ergonomic form is pretty terrible. I can't understand how Logitech could choose to discard their previous near-perfect design for their current norm of orienting the buttons the wrong way and making the shell way too small. A small hand on the previous size shell was no problem, but even a normal sized hand is far too big for the current design, leading to significant discomfort. Since it only works with the right hand, I can't understand why the buttons are angled the exact wrong way.
Too bad wired Trackman marbles are no longer available.

I LOVE THIS DEVICE!

Date:February 25, 2013
Don't change a thing, works great. As I sit here in my big mans recliner, watching my 50" plasma TV, my lap top on the left armrest, my m570 on the right armrest, relaxed and surfing the web, no cords, don't have to move my wrist, just my thumb and finger. Great invention.

Can I please have the wired one back.

Date:February 20, 2013
I bought this to replace the previous one which was the wired version and served me well. The new one works fine but I'm a desktop user and its a nuisance to lose a usb port for the wireless connection. Can I please have the wired one back.

Could be a solid product with a wired connection

Date:February 19, 2013
I would prefer this trackball in wired form. Otherwise, it works great keeps the hand from hurting. Logitech, please bring back the wired version of this trackball. I will buy several as soon as I see a wired version, one to use and three for the shelves when it dies.

Best Trackball to Date

Date:February 17, 2013
It's serious.
It works for all of my applications. Gaming is no problem.
It's ergonomic. I've used it for hours with no problems.
All of Logitech's research and development since the original Trackman have culminated to this point in the space-time continuum for us to witness the M570, a beautiful piece of hardware.

meh

could be much better

Date:February 15, 2013
I've used my m570 every day for many hours a day for over a year now and i have been mostly happy with it, but as the title says- it could be improved.
Things I would like to see changed- (and i would PAY MORE for) :
1) add another roller ball to the bottom of the ball cavity (the current bump there starts dragging on the ball after some use)
2) add weight. the m570 is so light it feels super cheap.
3) improve the scroll wheel. I wish it had the tilt wheel at the very least.
4) possibly add some pinky buttons that can be programmed, or some buttons somewhere in that area. It feels like i should have buttons there that i don't.
That's it, 4 things and i would cough up at least $20 more for it. All in all its a good trackball and im glad logitech hasn't quit on them like all the other companies seem to have done.

Used it since before the bundle

Date:February 13, 2013
I was happily surprised to see the Wave K350 keyboard and M570 trackball as a combo. I've been using the older versions of those two together for years now. The markings have disappeared from a few of the keys but otherwise things have been great. The only things i've missed are wirelessness and a Back button on the trackball. And maybe that the Zoom rocker at the left of the keyboard was a Scroll rocker instead. Well guess what.
As a guy in technical support, i do write quite a bit and my desk is always full of post-its and stuff. Thus i appreciate a good keyboard and a pointing device that doesn't require space. Moreover, they should not make my hands and arms ache.
I can say that this combo has served me well, and when this keyboard or trackball wears out, i want them replaced with a new K350/M570 combo.

A great alternative to a typical mouse

Date:January 28, 2013
If you've used a trackball in the past, what's there to say but this is yet another trackball. The ball moves quite well, though I've noticed that I have to clean it out semi-regularly to prevent issues. The back and forward buttons on the device come in hands, as well as having a scroll week is a godsend since not all software likes the software scrolling you typically have had with trackballs. Shape is comfortable in the hand, battery lasts a long time, as well as it works with or without drivers. Definitely recommended.

excellent device... I have bought many

Date:January 19, 2013
Bought as a companion device to the Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800. They both share the same wireless receiver in the computer's USB port. Remarkable battery life, fine precision control, and just a great experience. Let me know if you ever plan to discontinue as I will by a dozen for future use.

lousy trac ball

Date:January 9, 2013
constant pressure to the trac ball is required to navigate. other trac ball mice I have used have constant contact with the sensors and no pressure is required. after a few hours, my thumb is exhausted and begins to cramp. I Logitech would resolve this, I would recommend this product. As is, I definitely would NOT!

Still feels good.

Date:January 8, 2013
I used Trackman Marble for ages, and that was the best pointing device available, wore 4 of them out (glides and switches).
Pros: This newer wireless model has the same feel and build quality.
Cons: Wireless, needs a battery and easily misplaced receiver widget. Battery lasts about 40 days, so must charge it about once a month (if you're a gamer, don't forget).
All in all, I like it and would refer others to this model.
