Best Harmony for Tech Savvy Users
Date:January 10, 2012
I have had 4 other Harmony Remotes and the 1100 is the best for my media room and all the devices I use. I still own a 700 for my office and a 650 for my bedroom. As for ease of use, the 1100 does take a tech savvy person to really appreciate the remote’s true capabilities. But even for the novice the 1100 does everything you need it to. For some people using 2 hands to operate a remote might seem a bit much but once you get used to it, the power of the 1100 outweighs the slight inconvenience. To keep this review simple as possible I will say that the 1100 is the go-to remote for high tech media rooms. Logitech has done a wonerful job with the 1100 series remote.

Terrible remote
Date:August 9, 2011
Complex to use, hard to set up, doesn't work most of the time as it is out of range, and really expensive for a table decoration that lights up. I would never buy this remote again. It is worthless to me!

Refurbished is nothing short of new

** I wrote this review on the new version of this remote.
I bought this (actually the refurbished model) for the boyfriend for Christmas, and at first we were skeptical that it would truly be a "universal" remote. From past experiences, remotes always have that one (or few) thing/s that it can't do, and we still end up needing to use other remotes. This Harmony 1100 really blew us away-- not only was the setup extremely easy and fast, the remote actually worked with the system on first try!
If that didn't already make our jaw drop, we found that we could actually control the XBox from the remote with the on-screen ABXY buttons.
Then we found yet another thing that blew our pants off: the remote didn't pick up the DVR button, so all we had to do was follow the on-screen instructions, point our old remote to the Harmony, and about 20 secs later, BAM! the Harmony now has a DVR button.
Truly amazing remote, the styling is very sleek and modern, the weight is light without feeling fragile, the buttons themselves are minimal, simplistic and to the point, and the touch screen very vibrant and reactive.
Boyfriend and I have definitely recommended this remote to everyone we know, with some that have bought one themselves, and loved it. :)
