Overall the mouse is usable and it really is design to work on your couch, bed, sofa. If you're looking for a mouse for a desk i wouldn't suggest this because it doesn't get detail clicks and the hyper fast scrolling is too fast i can't even see the page but who cares its made from Logitech. Hope i help (:

Uncontrollable. As I move my mouse to click on something the page starts to scroll, and I cannot even get the cursor over the text I want to click. I end up chasing the items I am trying to click on. I HATE this mouse and intend on using a sledge hammer on it as soon as I get different one. The store had a 14 day return policy, so I can't bring it back. I would not even recommend this mouse to my enemies. Sometimes the click works, sometimes not. I just double clicked on one of the words in this review, and only the first click worked because the page scrolled making the second click fall somewhere else.

This mouse stops working and freeze every second, which is REALLY annoying. To revive it, I have to squeeze it until it's almost broken. It helps me increase my grip power, but not for computing. It's been frozen 7! times while I'm writing this review.

- Small
- Base completely closed, so no dust that accumulates
Cons:
- the battery life extender makes it pretty much anoying to use because it doesn't respond automatically
- The battery cap doesn't hold tite
- Not enought features (where are the tumb buttons?)
- Doesn't respond on wood (plain pine pannel in my case)
- Doesn't respond when the receiver is not in a clear line with it
I'm looking for a better product

I just bought the M515. It looked like a good size for a travel mouse. Not too big and not too small. It fits my hand fine. Since it has a unifying receiver I can use it with the other unifying mice I have and only use one receiver.
The one problem I have is that the middle button does not have the 'double click' option under other. I have always setup my mice with this option and when I need to double click something I automatically push the middle button.
It would be nice if Logitech would add this option to the next setpoint update.

The ONLY complaint I have about this mouse is the battery compartment cover. It comes off WAY too easily. Other mice had the door on the top. On a couch it opens all the time.
I do like the ability to press the scroll button so it is silent.

First, I had my scissors out and ready to open the molded plastic packaging. Just before I began to cut it open, I noticed the new "Easy Open" corner. Awesome! Thank you! I have great difficulty with molded plastic packaging. I think I understand the reasons for making it so inconspicuous, so I won't suggest better advertising of the feature.
I was looking for a small wireless mouse to go with my new laptop. The Couch Mouse fits the bill perfectly. I love the unifying receiver and the ease of installation. There was no installation necessary, but I went ahead and installed the software suite available on the logitech website. It provides information about the features and adjustments that can be made to the button uses, scroll speed (incorrectly mentioned in another rating post), mouse track speed, and other sensitivity settings.
In the past, I have battled a hair, or dust entering the lazer area and affecting performance. I can't see that this would ever be an issue with the new design of this mouse. I also love the way it glides on any surface. I use it on my recliner arm chair as well as mousepad at the desk. Mentioned in another rating post, the battery cover kindof concerns me, however I have had no trouble with it as of yet.

When Logitech developed and marketed advanced mice ergonomically moulded for right-handed users, I was really angered that the same was not available for left-handed users. I wrote to Logitech and eventually the M610 wireless left-handed mouse appeared in their line. I went through two of them. Recently, the M610 was discontinued. Faced with finding an alternative and unhappy at the prospect, I decided to try the "couch" mouse (M515). Any angst was unfounded. The only issue I have with Logitech is the choice of name. "Couch mouse" trivializes the many strengths of this design and pigeonholes a very versitile mouse suitable for both laptops and desktops.
The shape of this mouse is nothing less than amazing. It is truly ambidextrous. It is also slightly smaller than the prior generations. I have been using it for several weeks. I do not miss the left-handed design as this mouse is so comfortable in my left hand. All the advanced controls are built into the center wheel and a single button behind the wheel. Operating the controls is equivalent for either left or right handers. The software changes the functions to favor left or right and permits assigning custom functions to the controls. These are especially usefull for surfing the web. The M610, left handed mouse, had a defect in the design of the glides. There were four small pads stuck onto the base by a sticky adhesive. Over time the adhesive deteriorated and the pads moved. The couch mouse has a flat bottom (no pads to come off) with a flush window over the optical path. This will prevent dust settling on the optics. The M515 uses an improved receiver module that is very small, so much so that it can be left inserted into a laptop without concern for it being broken. Also, it fits neatly within the battery compartment for storage. Cursor response is excellent while moving the mouse over most surfaces and mouse pads. It does not work well on glass or glass like surfaces. It does work very well on uneven textile materials. The M515 will work out of the box without the Logitech software, but using the software expands the usefulness of the mouse. One of the new features is a quantitative estimate of remaning battery life, which is better than two years. There is also an on/off power switch to further conserve battery life. The older M610 ran through batteries quickly and would only signal when the batteries were critically low and needed to be changed IMMEDIATELY. In short, I recommend this mouse for all users. For left-handers this is pretty much the best choice in a wireless mouse.

I've been using this mouse for a few months. I really like it. The ability to use it on almost any surface is outstanding. (It does have problems on shiny surfaces like magazines and some table tops). I LOVE the middle scroll. One click provides normal stepped scrolling. One more click and it is a free-spinning wheel that will get you to the top or bottom of a very long page quickly. I also like that the dongle is small, so I don't worry about breaking it off and I don't have to take it out to put the laptop in my bag.
The ONLY complaint I have about this mouse is the battery compartment cover. It comes off WAY too easily. I've ended up having to use a little tape to make sure it stays on.

This mouse is in many respects the level of quality I expect from Logitech. My only complaint, and reason for coming to write a review, was the scroll wheel. (*see below)
This mouse confused me, as the button which I thought locked the scroll mechanism instead works as the center click. I found the screen scrolling up and down randomly when I moved the mouse, or other things being scrolled without my intent.
*This was, of course, until I realized (During the typing of this review, no less) that a SOLID click of the scroll wheel engages the scroll grip mechanism.
The forward and back keys are integrated with the scroll wheel in side-to-side scroll motions. Not as intuitive as with other Logitech mice.
The couch portion with the laser is wonderful, and works beautifully on the sofa with my HTPC. I've used the mouse successfully on the couch, the floor, my jeans, blankets, and even the cat!

I have a laptop mounted in my truck for Amateur Radio work. I bought this mouse to use with that laptop. I can use it on my leg, console lid, seat, etc. and it works fine. I can set it down anywhere in the truck and not worry about the curser moving as I drive. I particularly like the middle button set for Application Switching as it makes changeing between UI-View/GPS maps and weather radar, etc. quick and simple. Much easier to use than the touch pad.
We have Anywhere MX mice on our home computers, and the K360 keyboard unified on my office computer. They all work just as we expected.
Great products!!

I like the sensor that doesn't give off any annoying blue or red light like other laser mice. Works fairly well on smooth surfaces even though the directions recommend a mouse pad on smooth surfaces. I love the dual mode wheel as well, probably my favorite feature of this mouse. For the price I think this is an excellent investment for your computer! My only dislikes of this mouse is the setpoint program the comes with the mouse. The mouse works without it, but your customized button settings won't work if it isn't running. Also the hand sensing feature is a little more fickle then I would like, I think the feature would have been much better if it was adjustable, or optional. Occasionally I go to use my mouse and nothing happens until I hold onto the mouse a little tighter.

Until I visited this website I didn't realize the mouse had hand recognition. I was constantly not able to use the mouse because I wasn't holding on to both sides. I tried shaking it and hitting it on the mouse pad. I thought it was defective. I intially was going to give this mouse a very poor review. Now that I know, its kind of a handy tool.

Unpackaged easily - thanks for that! Decided not to read directions before trying it. Inserted the USB unifying receiver, put the batteries in the mouse, turned it on, and it just worked! Adjusted the mouse settings a bit in Gnome and now it's perfect. Plug-N-Play with Linux Fedora 14 and Gnome. Surprisingly simple and does not seem to interfere with laptop's Wi-Fi connection. Thanks Logitech!

If you have a computer connected to your tv than this is the mouse for you! Plug and go it is that simple. It works great on the couch. It even works on a "Pillow Pet"! I have not downloaded the software to configure the buttons, but I was so impressed I had to write a review right away. The unifying receiver is exclent! I have paired the solor keyboard K750 and the M515 to the keyboard reciver. You will need to download the unifying software from the logitech website to pair up to 6 devices to just one reciever. The mouse has a slot to store its reciever in the battery bay. This will let me take the mouse to a different part of the house and just plug it into a laptop and use it right away. Super Cool!

So i got this mouse because i needed one that i could use anywhere and every where. And i loved the look of it. When i finally got it i what happy with the purchase.
Pros-
The mouse wheel ether scrolls very fast or average speed. By clicking the middle of the mouse u can change the way it scrolls from a smooth scroll to a scroll that stops when u stop. also on the mouse wheel you have forward and backwards keys by tilting it. they did a good job with this unlike some of there others where you middle click and accidently go back or forward a page.
Cons
-the middle click button is not underneath the mouse wheel so this took a while to get used to. But once you do it is fine.
- also i have trouble sometimes with it working on my desk with. however when i use it on a bed or a couch it works fine so usually ill just set it on a not pad or something when i use it on my desk
