Was awesome, then major fail

Date:March 24, 2014
Bought this from a major wholesale company about a year ago. We really loved both the mouse and keyboard and felt it was worth the money spent.
Recently, though, the mouse has started acting up. It'll navigate the cursor but won't select anything. There's no clear solution. Sometimes we have to turn it off & on, unplug the USB, just wait a while, do nothing - all of the above work at various times and fail at others.
Over the weekend the cursor started spontaneously becoming a magnifying glass, then switch back to a cursor. Back and forth, back and forth, from one fraction of a second to the next. Sometimes it would cause me to inadvertently reduce the font size so small that I couldn't see it, then it would turn back to a cursor and not let me engage the magnifying glass. Other times it would make the font so large that it couldn't be read. In all cases, I couldn't select radio buttons, which is very critical to the work I do. This resulted in time and money lost, since I am paid per task completed.
My husband has spent hours troubleshooting this and has come up empty handed. It's a ridiculous amount of time spent on a mouse.
It's really disappointing and very frustrating. I have no choice but to return this to the store we bought it from, which thankfully has an excellent return policy.
I regret writing this poor review. I honestly do. I enjoy Logitech products, but this essential product is something I expect to work seamlessly. If I have to think about it at all, it's not doing it's job right. Quite honestly, we'd happily exchange this for a new one, but sadly the store no longer carries this product (typical for this store to frequently rotate the items they sell).

Best keyboard and mouse I've used

Date:January 21, 2014
To be honest, I didn't buy the combo here. I found an M705 mouse laying around the office and liked it better than the ball mouse I was using before. The mouse is very comfortable, easy to use, and is still on the factory batteries for the year I've had it. It hasn't shown any decrease in battery charge level since I started using it.
The solar keyboard I found on sale at Target. I'm a big solar guy, so I bought it without even thinking about it. The keyboard is very nice in quality and ease of typing. The solar panels work well with indoor light, picking up about 300 LUX with overhead fluorescent light, and it will go to 500+ LUX if I pick it up closer to the light. We've since purchased 3 more keyboards for the IT and HR departments.
My only 2 complaints about the pair is that the surface of the keyboard (the surround around the keys) scratches VERY easily. Also, I miss having the CAPS lock light. With the solar panels, this would be a no-brainer. If the surface could have been made out of something less vulnerable and have a CAPS lock light, the keyboard would be perfect.

Swoon-worthy

Date:December 18, 2013
I just needed a setup for when I plugged my laptop into the big monitor. I didn't really think much about it, just picked up what Costco had.
Now I'm going back to get another one for the office.
I LOVE this set. The keyboard is really nice. Perhaps a wee bit loud, but comfortable. The mouse is the real star though. So very functional, comfortable, and intuitive to use, though the back button caught me by surprise. It will be nice for web use. I installed the software so I could use the application button. The scroll look is handy as well. And I like that the receiver can be used by both home and office sets so I won't have to move it around. That is really handy.

Best combo for budget work/home setup. Very good quality mouse, functional solar. Does NOT require sunlight. Any light works.
