Love the keyboard, not a "case"

Date:March 4, 2013
This keyboard is amazing. I am a graduate student and this keyboard allows me to take notes during class, without having to carry around my still-surviving heavy macbook along with all of my books. The keyboard shortcuts are beneficial for speedy note taking. I rarely use my laptop at this point because the keyboard allows my iPad to be extremely versatile.
However, I do not particularly like how the keyboard does not function as an actual case. Yes, it protects the screen, but if you (or someone else) pick up your iPad wrong, the iPad will fall right out the back due to gravity. Additionally, you cannot have a separate case on your iPad to be able to dock the iPad in the keyboard. Consequently, I have had my iPad flip out of the back while I was typing, and fall on a concrete floor, resulting in a dent for my casing.
For daily transport, I also use an iPad sleeve. However, I wish there was a way to protect my iPad more when the keyboard is in use. I have seen other keyboard models such as the ones offered by Brookstone, but I do not like how the iPad is limited to a landscape orientation.

GREAT KEYBOARD

Date:January 6, 2013
First let me start by saying how much I love this keyboard. The keys came out of the first one that I purchased last March. However, I contacted Logitech and they sent a new one. That is the only problem that I have had.
The cover on mine fits very snugly. Be sure that you have the correct iPad attached. I carry it every where. It is a bit heavy, but much better than carrying around a laptop.
I like the fact that it easily shifts from landscape to portrait as an easel. Also, the case looks like it comes with the iPad because of the coloring, and it is a hard case.
I love it.

Very good Keyboard

Date:December 30, 2012
Love this keyboard. Very handy for typing essays etc. for school. Love the features of it as well. I would like it to be lit or atleast have an attached flashlight. Also, this may just be me and Im looking for an answer. I haven't been able to use the iPad's keyboard when away from the Logitech keyboard. Tried everything I can think of, but cant figure it out. Would love to get an answer.

needs a redesign

Date:December 24, 2012
This needs work. You have to unhinge it from the side and place the ipad in the slot. I like the concept, but it comes off so easy I am afraid of dropping my ipad. A better design would be to have it encase the ipad and then have a way for the ipad to sit in the slot. I am going to return mine. I'll get it again when they redesign it.

Great functioning keyboard

Date:November 11, 2012
Before I received this keyboard case, I didn't do much typing on the iPad and saved most of it for my computer. Now that I can type faster using the keyboard, I almost exclusively use my iPad for everything. At first I found the keys a little small but I quickly adapted after the first day or two. The battery life for the keyboard is great and I love the bluetooth wireless compatibility. My only complaint is that I wish I could change the angle of the iPad when attached to the keyboard. Definitely a good pick up if you want a good keyboard.

A good idea, but . . .

Date:October 31, 2012
I really wish this product was better. It seemed like it would be perfect. Keyboard and cover all in one. Wow! But the one thing that makes me dislike it is that the iPad doesn't stay in the slot. It keeps falling backward. I'm afraid it's going to damage the iPad and then what? I love the keyboard features, being able to use it like a "real keyboard," but this falling over is just not working for me. Oh, and did I mention how heavy it is with the cover on?

Ipad2 Logitech Keyboard

Date:September 2, 2012
I bought this at SAMS about 5 months ago after trying a magnetic cover for my screen and then a zippered pouch. This is the cats meow for IPAD2s I use it allways and have never had a problem with the keyboard not being charged. I do though always charge it the same time I do my Ipad which is about once every 2 to 3 days on average. Only way to improve this is maybe put a place on it to keep a pen I sometimes use, but I guess that is what pockets are for? I bought one for my son in college, but it was sold out so we looked high and low and finally found the last one at our local Target store. My other 2 cases/covers are almost never used, this is compact and easy to work/travel with.

Couldn't live with out this keyboard!

Date:August 16, 2012
It's funny, I actually returned to logitech to purchase this keyboard as gifts for my sister and daughter. I seldom write reviews, but after reading some of the ones left I felt I should.
I've had this keyboard since just after I bought my ipad July 2011 and have never had one bit of trouble with it. I use it daily and when I say daily I mean all day every day. I recharge it about once a month if that and I'm not exaggerating! I was shocked when I read a review about the charge not lasting. I recharge it so seldom that I mostly forget it has to ever be charged! So unless something has drastically changed in the last year, this keyboard rocks!

Nice Keyboard

Date:June 3, 2012
I purchased this product the other day after ordering another keyboard cover from Finn and Maddy that was horrible.
This keyboard works great and offers great response. I do have to agree with others about the edges being a bit pointy/sharp where you have to rest your hands. If you are writing a novel and using this, I would recommend a different keyboard that is full size.
When the keyboard cover is attached to the iPad in storage mode, it fits snugly. What is not so great about this however, is that the keyboard cover leaves marks and indentations on the Zagg cover of my iPad.
I also am not crazy about how when you stand the iPad up in the keyboard, it just doesn't feel like it is locked in solid enough - I am concerned that it will go flying across the room easily with the slightest bump. Not good especially if you don't have accidental coverage on your iPad.
I also don't like the fact that this case leaves the back of my iPad uncovered with the aluminum exposed. I was forced to order a Zagg cover for the back just to make sure it doesn't get all scratched up.
The charging usb cord is incredibly short and needs to be much longer.
What I did to offer a more secure fit to protect my iPad was to purchase a Rocketfish zippered portfolio. The iPad with this keyboard cover fits inside perfectly and there is even room for a small notebook, stylus and mini screen cleaner.
IDEAS FOR LOGITECH REDESIGN:
I really think Logitech should put the tab back in the keyboard (that I saw on another review) that secures the iPad in the case while it is standing and also fix the wrist area so it is more comfortable. They could also increase the size of the keyboard just a little in order to accommodate a back cover for the iPad (like the plastic snap on covers). I would pay extra for the additional coverage.

Love this product!

Date:May 10, 2012
It holds my I pad perfectly, It has fallen a ccouple of times on the bed but nothing major. It would be even better with a lit keyboard, but the battery life is amazing and I know that would probably take away from that.

Overall great product

Date:April 7, 2012
Haven't had any of the problems mentioned in other reviews. In fact I had another case/keyboard and happily replaced it by this lightweight and very user friendly keyboard/case.
My only question is why on earth such a short cable ?
It is very inconvenient as it has to either be plugged in right at the socket or one needs to buy a USB cable extension. Cannot imagine that a 3 foot cable would increase the price either...

Logitech Ipad Keyboard Case, Aluminum Edge Problem

Date:March 22, 2012
This is a very good quality product and looks great. The keyboard functions well too. Unfortunately there is one small issue that can cost you dearly that can spoil the rest. As you might have already read from other reviews, the aluminum edging. More specifically the edging along the users side which would be the side that the Ipad would fall with the touch screen facing down, can damage the screen of your Ipad if it where to fall on it. The case does hold up your Ipad, but on an uneven surface (bed, car, plane, table prone to people bumping on to it), or sudden accidental bump to the aluminum case or Ipad, can make you're Ipad fall face down onto the case which will cause your screen to land on top of the Aluminum edge which is not razor sharp, but thin enough. The impact can cause your screen to crack, nick or scratch. If your on the go, traveling, at the airport, using the fold down table inside the plane, around crowded tables or feeling rushed, tense anything that can make you accidently bump or make a sudden reflex to the case or even the Ipad causing the Ipad to fall, which is easier than you think, it can make a good product turn to the worst. As cool as it looks and as good as it is, buyer be aware. Accidents do happen.

Damages your I-Pad

Date:March 4, 2012
I totally loved the keyboard and bragged about it to all my friends, recommending it, until it "ate" my I-Pad Glass. Look closely at the corners that stick up on one side of the keyboard. The designers did not think it through, and those two corners stick up so that they can break your I-Pad glass. They are not necessary on the other side of the keygboard, hence, they are not needed at all. Clearly an oversight, but I now have a broken I-Pad because it was knicked by the pointed edge when putting the I-Pad back into the keyboard. The silly part is that the pointed edges that caused the damage are not needed, and the problem could have easily been avoided in their design.

Great product

Date:February 21, 2012
I received this keyboard as a xmas gift . I love the functionality and size . It fits right into any ipad cover case. Im not sure what product folks are talking about. The case has never fallen off my iPad. It's very secure. The Bluetooth connection has never been lost and the delete button functions as a back key/ delete.
Great job logitech :-)

Love @ 1st Sight

Date:December 27, 2011
I have been searching for a good case for my iPad for over a month, not to mention a keyboard. I have found similar products, except they have been so bulky it would almost be like carrying around a large laptop. Which would not work for me (my purse is heavy as is). When I opened up my Christmas present from my significant other, I was so surprised by this gift. It was everything I have been looking for and more. I just could not believe he did such a great job. The look of this product is sleek and unlike many of the other reviews, the fit is perfect and I have yet to experience the sharp edge issue. I wouldn't call myself a petite woman by anyones assessment and the typing on this is very similiar to that of typing on a notebook. I believe most people correlate the texture of the product to it being sharp. The texture is not as smooth as the iPad's metal, it is more gritty but not harsh. This is the perfect solution to your needs and it is extremely light weight. I would highly recommend this to anyone with an iPad 2.
