Great Headset

Date:May 4, 2013
I love this headset, I got this as a christmas gift last year! it works fine with my windows 8 laptop and when I have it set for bluetooth the sound is clear! the only thing I have to complain is that the battery does not last as long as it is advertised. The battery is supposed to last 6 hours and at a full charge id say it lasts about 3 give or take before it goes red and beeps until you charge it! other than that id recommend this to anyone who needs a great wireless headset!

Very versatile headset

Date:April 16, 2013
I've had this headset for over a year now. Going to buy two more sets for family members. To the guy named Burt who left review on March 31st... The cover on the left earpiece comes off to store the usb transceiver. This headset is very good for music. I have Bose QC 15's and Sennheiser MM450's and this headset sounds great too. It has a good clean sound with deep rich base in either mode. I have used this headset for music, while walking, on my computer, with my phone. For gaming, Mic works good. It should be noted that to use the mic, audio goes to mono. One minor annoyance for me is when i plug the USB transceiver in my computer my audio is through the headset only. I can't switch back to my speakers unless I unplug it. So after plugging and unplugging for a while the black end cap came of. I just glued it back on with super glue though, no worries there (but I should not have to unplug it all the time). So If I'm missing something here..Someone let me know :). Since they can fold (kinda) I can carry them in my backpack everyday to work, but since they can fold they should at least come with a little sac or something just to protect them. They are light and will come off if you do jumping jacks, but for jogging or walking they are fine. They may come off easy, but thats because they are so light you can wear them all day long. All plastic components, but tough enough considering what i've put them through over the past year if reasonably cared-for. I doubt you would regret if you picked a pair of these up :)

Love this head set - Yet you disappointed me too!

Date:March 31, 2013
as far as functionality, sound, eas of use 5 stars but you lose a star from me for a lack of design...
These are awesome and work exactly as promoted and expected. I upgraded my purchase at the store when I saw this model would work with both USB and Bluetooth and the headset is perfect for what I was looking for...
My disappointment comes from not having designed a place to store the USB receiver on the headphone for travel. The designers missed the mark here! I'm sure it won't take long to lose this and maybe that was the point to help sell replacement parts but in today's face paced world and being on the go.
I think a slight re-tooling would be in order and then you will have really hit it out of the park with this headset.
BTW - Would be happy to beta test the new design !

A real surprise.

One of the best product of this type for a reasonable price.
The advantage to switch between phone, pc and tablet without cables is great. I'm really addicted to it!
The only downside is the additional USB adapter not compatible with others Logitech wireless devices.

Best Headphones Ever..

Date:December 26, 2012
I was searching for a wireless headphone that provides crystal clear sound as wired headsets .. till I found this product on the internet .. bought it .. and really satisfied with it..
Everything is good except that if you need more than 4-5 hrs of continuous usage .. you will need to recharge your headphones again ( I'd really like to have the option of using normal AAA batteries, but frankly, that would make the device bigger)..
Also to be honest , the microphone sensitivity is not that powerful , but it's OK .
Concerning luxury ,the switch button could be made from better material ..
I don't want to talk about any thing else .. Every feature is fascinating...
I use it with my laptop and mobile (not simultaneously of course)...
I've been using it for a year .. the sound is crystal clear for about 8m from the connected to device..
Totally satisfied....

NOT UNIFYING RECEIVER COMPATABLE!

Date:December 5, 2012
This is on me for not reading the description as thoroughly as I could have, but the little receivers all look the same...so I assumed that if I already had a mouse and keyboard connected to my PC I coiuld just connect the headset too! NO! the headset is bluetooth so now I need to use 2 USB ports if I want to use the 3 devices.

I would agree fully with the producers review below.
This is a cracking headset with some really nice features - particularly like the ability to switch from my PC audio to my phone quickly.
The audio quality is pretty good and perfectly good enough for things like Skype (which I get good comments on from other callers).
The headset is also really comfortable (much more comfortable than the clear chat USB devices which I have tried a lot of), albeit does feel a little flimsy at times. I could wear this all day without noticing it (I have a relatively big head too)
I would pay more (probably 100 EUR more) for an improved headset that had the following features:
- Higher quality microphone/audio input that would facilitate use of dictation software such as Dragon NaturallySpeaking (the mic audio is not as good as the Logitech clearchat USB devices, which seem much higher definition) - and I found that this headset did not perform well with Dragon dictation software (unlike the Logitech clearchat USB)
- A proper docking station for charging
- Better build quality
- Longer lasting battery life - or potentially some sort of optional beep to warn the user is the headset is switched on for a period of inactivity
- The ability to integrate with common software like skype so that you can easily pick up a call using the integrated controls.

gladly pay 100 euros more if it was more HQ

Date:October 8, 2012
i am a producer so i have a pretty hectic life at the office. so the ability to quickly change from phone (bluetooth) to computer (usb thingy) is AMAZING !
downside
its a low cost product
i would prefer to have a real high quality headset with 12 hours of battery and better sound quality and also better ergonomics
- a recharge station where i can easily place it to recharge.
- maybe another radio usb thingy so i can switch between 2 PCs
- audio quality is ok but not very good
- cracking audio on my PC
i would gladly pay 100 euros more if it was a better product.
still its the best one i came accross so far

Solid Product

Date:September 13, 2012
I've only had the headset for a couple of weeks, but I'm already hooked. As others have pointed out, the ability to use the headset via BT and USB is great. The audio quality is very good for the price. I was also very pleasantly surprised by the range. The ability to charge while using is also a nice feature.
They do feel a bit flimsy, but the upside is the reduced weight. So far, they've survived being packed and hauled around in a backpack. We'll see how they do after a few months of travel.
Only 3 stars may be a little harsh for the ergonomics - this is based primarily on the source switch (BT, USB) - which can be challenging to get into the correct position (a better detent would fix this), and the controls on the right earpiece. It's not that the earpiece controls are difficult to use - it's just that every quadrant has the same nib - which means that you have to place multiple fingers on the control, or run a finger around the control to make sure you're going to press the desired function.
All in all, a solid product that works well and is very useful. I'm looking forward to the next generation to see where they take it.

The features on the H800 are exactly what I've been looking for. The plastic-y quality of the unit, overall is really a turn-off.

Battery Life is Horrible

Date:September 5, 2012
The ONLY complaint I have about these is that the battery life is simply horrible. If you use it for any decent amount of time (e.g.: 3-5 hours), you'll need to recharge. I do a lot of video conferencing so I have to plan accordingly to ensure they last.
Apart from that, sound quality is excellent and fit is really great. Just wish they'd do something to improve battery life.
It's the main reason I wouldn't recommend these.

not as good as it seems

Date:September 5, 2012
this headset has served me well for 3 or 24 months, i actually expected it to last at least a year, of all the time i have had it i dropped it 2 times(on carpeted floor).
during those months it served me perfectly, the ergonomics on this could have been better but meh.
the sound quality on this is good until 2 months then it becomes laggy and some annoying noises appear.
overall its a great head set, but for a short time, id say its not worth the price

chargning input busted

Date:July 21, 2012
I loved this headset, but when I noticed it wasn't holding a charge I saw that the charging input was broken. That seems like a piece of the headset that should be sturdy. I've only had the headset a few months. I've also seen another review mention this issue. I'm out the money now. I will look to a different brand to replace it.

Really Like It With a Few Suggestions

Date:July 12, 2012
I've used the H800 since last Christmas; it is the first headset I've seen on the market that is wireless and can speak to either my iPhone 4s or my PC. I find the sound quality to be very good and it is lightweight and comfortable.
That said, I have a few product improvement suggestions which are consistent with other reviews: (1) the input selection rocker switch quality is fairly low; when changing between sources the operation is not smooth, (2) I love the microphone boom -- it would be great if it was telescoping so that it can reach all the way to my mouth much like aviation quality headsets, and (3) I'm not sure if this is technically doable, but I'd love to somehow sync with my home wireless phone frequency so I could join that type of conersation.
All in all, I really like this unit. You'd be surprised how many times I've gone into various airport shops that sell wireless equipment, and when I lay down my requirements, they don't sell anything like that. Sounds like a marketing opportunity.

First Useable Headset I've Owned!

Date:June 26, 2012
Over the years I've owned 4 in-ear bluetooth headsets, a USB wired headset, and a half-dozen PC analog headsets. This H800 is the first one that really works for me.
The bluetooth headsets I've had in the past have all been more trouble than they were worth... this H800 however sounds great (for me and for the people on the other end), is very lightweight and comfortable, and is actually easy to control and use.
I'm not on the phone all day... maybe 4-5 calls for a total of about an hour. I love that I can manually switch between bluetooth for my phone, and the dongle for my computer (Skype). At the end of the day, I can use it for Pandora on my PC (with the dongle) or Pandora on my phone (with bluetooth).
The mechanical switch is huge for ease of use. Have you ever tried pairing a headset with multiple bluetooth devices? Yeah, it's a real pain. With this headset I don't have to.
I'll even go so far as to say it makes my phone a pleasure to use. The phone (Samsung Infuse Android) is a high-end smart phone, but I've always hated talking on it because it's uncomfortable and sounds bad (for me and the people who can't hear me). These headphones are comfortable and they sound great on both ends.
One suggestion to the folks at Logitech: When the headset is switched out of dongle mode and into bluetooth mode or off, the Windows driver should sense this and revert to the built-in speakers. Yes, I could pull out the dongle to achieve this, but it's more hassle and risks losing or breaking the tiny little thing. My workaround is to pin a shortcut to the "sound" tool from control panel to my start menu, so I can quickly change the default device back and forth. But you guys could make this automatic if you tried.
Again, I love the headset, and I'm so glad that after ~7 years of looking for a good phone+PC solution I have finally found one. Thanks Logitech for another great product.

would not recommend

Date:June 11, 2012
I use a USB headset all day every day for my job, as manager of a call center. Therefore, reliability is essential.
This headset spontaneously would go to "MUTE", requiring resetting of audio- not good when trying to pick up a call from a client.
Most recently the battery will not charge- headset no longer functions.
I used this headset for 6-7 months. During that time i always carried a backup headset with me.

Overall, a pretty nice headset. Very comfortable and light, completely fine audio. Although, if the charger or charging input breaks... Not good, happened to me, and boom $99 gone. I wish that either a secondary charging source other than a computer USB , or perhaps even batteries, even if that would make it somewhat more heavy..
