It is a very compact, lightweight, and functional keyboard. The iPad fits nicely in the slot in either orientation, though it snaps in with a little extra security only in one landscape orientation. The keyboard works flawlessly and I've yet to have to re-charge it (over 2+ weeks now).
As a hard cover, it is very stylish (matches the style of the iPad), form fitting (no bulk), and so far, very durable. I've found that it protects the screen adequately when closed such that I don't use a screen protector. I've gotten a number of nice comments on how good it looks.
However, as others have mentioned, it does have its minor drawbacks. The keyboard is small compared to a regular keyboard and it takes some time to get used to it. But, this is the same as other keyboards with similar purpose. The magnetic snaps are strong enough to keep the cover orientated on the iPad when closed, but not strong enough to hold the setup fully closed in all situations. If you hold the iPad and turn the setup upside down, the cover will fall open and possibly fall off. I've got a thin sleeve to ensure the setup always stays closed in all orientations during transportation. The magnetic snap in the keyboard slot is similar in that it steadies the iPad when installed in the one orientation, but notable bumps will still cause the iPad to come loose. In other orientations (no magnetic snap),you have to be careful, b/c tilting the setup one way or the other (like when you shift legs while sitting with the setup on your lap) could cause the iPad to move...though it would have to be a big tilt to allow the iPad to fall out.
But, as I said up front this is a nice keyboard/cover. I'm very satisfied and highly recommend to others.

Excellent Keyboard!

I love my new Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover!
I love the clean, crisp look. The white keyboard compliments my white iPad nicely. My main concern originally was that the iPad would not have the 'back support' to hold the iPad up. My fear was that the iPad would fall out. After talking to a sales rep at the store where I purchased this from, he assured me this would not be an issue. The iPad fits nicely! I love the keyboard and how it is not made of that rubbery material. The keys work great-no sticking!. All in all I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it!

Good overall with one serious flaw
Date:April 16, 2013
I have a third generation iPad. I love the design and ease of use of this keyboard/cover, but even though I am careful to place the iPad in the slot with the home button on the right, I have had the iPad fall to the floor or off my lap several times. It just doesn't stay in the slot. So far my iPad is still working, thank God, but I'm almost afraid to use the keyboard now. I have to be extremely careful not to touch the screen with anything but the very lightest touch, and I am definitely not heavy-handed with my electronics. I have gotten to the point where I hold on to the iPad with my left hand (yes, I'm right-handed) when I need to touch the screen. This accessory is such a great concept, but it needs to address this problem...unless, of course, mine is simply defective and not representative of the rest of them.

Keyboard doesn't last
Date:March 28, 2013
It's a great idea and seemed quite good for a couple months. I like the fit, the typing and weight. Then a couple keys stopped responding. It can be challenging typing without the t, y, 3, z, x, and the delete key functioning. Also, if you have an anti-glare film, over time it will get scratched up.

Weak magnet in hinge ... otherwise wonderful
Date:March 28, 2013
I purchased last fall from Costco. Love the keyboard, touch, battery life, etc. But the magnet is too weak. I have to be extra careful when carrying the two together because the weight of the iPad will cause it to "break away" from the keyboard. Makes me worry about dropping the iPad by accident, also inadvertently scratching when they come apart.
Would think twice before buying again.

Good quality, but...
Date:March 25, 2013
Keyboard is good quality, works well, but the aluminum cover that creates the base is smooth and slides around on my desk when typing which is an irritant and scratches the cover. It needs rubber feet, or something to prevent this. The magnetic connection that holds the iPad in the typing position is very good but the connection to the side of the iPad in the cover position is a weak and comes apart when casually holding. Have almost dropped my iPad several times. While overall good quality, I do not recommend this keyboard for these 2 reasons.

I took my first Log keyboard back to the Apple store in Hamburg where I bought it because the space bar produced a space only when I touched it firmly in the middle. The Apple store replaced it immediately w/o a receipt. My second I can't get it to recognize my iPad. Other than that, I love it. It sets nicely at the right angle to read. The keyboard is responsive (other than the problem above - has anybody else had this problem?)

Light weight, thin, easy to setup

very easy to set up. took less then 1 minute.
light weight. I take mine everywhere cycling and it makes life easy.
The thinness makes putting inside a padded case later easy or simply to carry around for meetings.
the key noise is a little loud for meetings. I wish they were quieter.
I also have problems getting it to stand in the slot from time to time. my pad has fallen once or twice.

Love my Logitech iPad keyboard. My only complaint is that the strip that holds the bottom edge of the iPad in the keyboard has begun to slide up and out of the groove. Still functional, but unsightly.

as promised - looks good, works well

I've only had for a few days, but it has made my ipad much more useful for blogging and ocnference note taking (where i am right now). Yes, the magnet could be stronger. but it looks good, and i like the keyboard.
My biggest issue is this: after I recharged the ipad, it would not reconnect with the keyboard. you have to tell the ipad to "forget this device", then refind it, and that works well. This information really needs to be on the support pages, it took me quite a while to find this out from one of the reviews above.
Love that i bought this one. plan to use it a lot.

Magnets Ruin Everything
Date:January 30, 2013
Logitech, you lost sight of the details at the end. This has great design, great keyboard but it all is forgotten when the magnets won't even allow me to open the cover up with out falling off of my iPad. You could have done so much better by just putting stronger magnets in this product. Really disappointing.

I love this keyboard
Date:January 27, 2013
This keyboard is great. The bluetooth connection is immediate unlike some other iPad keyboards I own, and I love the that it has a magnet in the stand to keep the iPad secure when typing.
The smart cover feature is just so-so. Although the keyboard is very light, the attachment as a smart cover isn't very secure. This is not an issue for me because I carry my iPad and keyboard in a Tumi crossbody case, but for those who were counting on the cover to make their iPad into a little clamshell, this is not a solution.
The only thing that could make this better is if it had a backlit keyboard so I could use it in the dark.

Love this keyboard cover!
Date:December 26, 2012
I have owned this keyboard cover for about 4 months now and use it fairly heavily on a daily basis. I have to admit the first one I bought was defective (bluetooth would not connect to my iPad), but this was apparent within days of purchase. Exchanged it with no hassle and have not had a problem since. I essentially use my iPad like a laptop now. I bring it everywhere. It makes taking even simple notes at meetings so much easier and more efficient. The size of the total unit is so small and convenient, it's easy to carry around. People are always asking me where I got this. I have not had the problem with the magnet that other reviewers have encountered. My magnet is strong and secure. I did make the mistake of placing the iPad the wrong direction into the keyboard cover once. You'll know if you did that right away because the magnet does not work at all on the other side of the iPad. The only other quirk that you will figure out fairly soon is that when I charge my iPad and/or keyboard (btw, battery life is amazing), I sometimes must go into settings to "forget" this device and then reset or "pair" this device with the iPad again. Overall, this keyboard has changed the way in which I use my iPad (for the better).

Got 2 of these for my wife and son for Christmas - disappointment. The magnets are of poor quality and hold very weakly, the hinge allows you to open the front, but not flip all the way to the back. There isn't any disclaimer on the website about this. Ergonomically, it should work like all the other ipad covers out there.

Received mine couple of days ago. I am so glad I ordered this keyboard. Thought I was spending a lot, but when I received it I was impressed with the quality. It is great looking and works better than I expected. The magnet is strong and holds the iPad very stable. My husband was also impressed and wants one for an iPad Mini....hopefully that is in the works! The keyboard is light, connects and disconnects easily, and makes your iPad look like a Mac Book Air. Everyone that sees it wants one. I highly recommend this keyboard cover.

This is a great keyboard and is easy to use unless you have big hands. I like the aspect of it being the cover to the iPad this makes it easy to carry but it doens't hold on to the iPad as well as I would like. I like the angle that the keyboard holds the screen, it's easy to see. I prefer the separate keyboard (PN 920-003241) because I have large hands so it's easier to use becuase the keys have a greater spacing.
