I bought my G25 more than a year ago, and it's still doing well, I use it every day, regardless if the game has no shifter support. The wheel is very ergonomic and the paddles fit to my hands quite well. I also have made a wooden support for the shifter module, to make it even more ergonomic than having the shifter on a desk.
the plastic holders slip, regardless of what wheel from Logitech, putting a piece of soft rubber or high friction tape between the holder and the desk should fix the problem. It worked for me, and my desk is made of hollow wood coated with plastic-based paint.
It took me a week to get used to the wheel, the H-gate shifting and the 900° steering especially.
I used to have a Momo before my G25, and it worked quite well, until the wheel's force feedback motor short circuited.
The wheel was better than I thought it was, I thought the shifter would snap like a twig, and comparing to the Fanatec Porsche wheels, someone from a forum I regularly visit, actually had to replace the full Fanatec Porsche wheel setup at least 3 times in one year, and his shifter (and warranty-covered replacements) snapped many times as well.
The things that are being drawbacks are the paddles that feel quite loose, and the clicking shifter (when putting in gear) which I know can be fixed by inserting a soft object in the shifter mechanism. The shifter also feels a little flimsy as well, so I always try to shift as lightly as possible.
